Lianna · 30 March 2011 · Chapter 6: Sea Fever (Prompt: Sea)

You had Elladan be susceptible to seasickness in another story long ago, didn't you? Poor baby, in any case.

Author's reply

That's well remebered! Yes, poor Elladan has always suffered from seasickness. I sympathise :(

Lianna · 30 March 2011 · Chapter 1: Glorfindel Says ... (Prompt: Snow and Ice)

Nice to see you back! I remember having to purge certain phrases from my vocabulary when I had kids. I guess Glorfindel will have to do the same, since he seems to spend a lot of time with the twins.

Author's reply

Thank you for the welcome! It seems ages since I last wrote anything worth publishing :( Glorfindel must *really* learn to watch his tongue - the twins soak up words like sponges!

Cairistiona · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 2: Raining Cats And Dogs (Prompt: Rain)

*giggles* Leave it to Estel to find an actual cat when it's raining cats and dogs!

Author's reply

It's a wonderful expression, and I suddenly wondered about Estel taking it literally ...

Cairistiona · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 1: Glorfindel Says ... (Prompt: Snow and Ice)

LOL! I imagine Elrond had a talk with Glorfindel shortly after this little scene. Fun drabble!

Author's reply

You could be right! Glorfindel really needs to watch what he says in front of the twins :)

6336 · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 1: Glorfindel Says ... (Prompt: Snow and Ice)

Something tells me Calebrian is going to have a few words with Glorfindel that will warm his ears up for him, if nothing else! Lynda

Author's reply

You might be right - he need to watch his tongue :)

6336 · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 6: Sea Fever (Prompt: Sea)

Oh, poor Elladan, I take it he is not a good sailor, Granpa Errandil will not be too happy! Lynda

Author's reply

I think Elladan gets this from Celebrían, not his father or grandfather.

daw the minstrel · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 6: Sea Fever (Prompt: Sea)

Sea Fever. Is that "I must go down to the sea again, etc."? Anyway, sea sickness is miserable. Poor baby.

Author's reply

Yes, that's the poem. It seemed a good title to use! Unfortunately I know just how Elladan feels :(

daw the minstrel · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 5: A Riddle In The Dark (Prompt: Lake)

Oh wow. How did they get water in there deep enough to make barrels float?

Author's reply

More to the point, how will they get the water out?

daw the minstrel · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 4: Diversions (Prompt: River)

Why do I suspect they're going to regret teaching Estal to dam that river? LOL

Author's reply

Oh, it won't lead to any harm - despite the next drabble, the incidents aren't connected.

daw the minstrel · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 3: O! Water Is Fair That Leaps on High (Prompt: Fountain)

I always like seeing these characters actually working. It makes them feel real.

Author's reply

I hadn't thought of it like that, but Elladan and Elrohir wouldn't be afraid to get their hands dirty and do tasks like this.

Larner · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 6: Sea Fever (Prompt: Sea)

Alas for Elladan and his seasickness! Have been there and DONE that! Heh! Leaves no one for Elrohir to share his delight with, unfortunately.

Author's reply

Yes, this spoils Elrohir's enthusiasm I'm afraid. Poor Elladan!

Larner · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 5: A Riddle In The Dark (Prompt: Lake)

Oops! Have we been building dams again?

Author's reply

No, despite the previous drabble, this incident happened long before :>)

Larner · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 4: Diversions (Prompt: River)

And we all know how small children love to build dams! Heh! NOT what Erestor had expected to find, I'm certain.

Author's reply

Small children *and* grown elves! Elladan and Elrohir are rediscovering their lighter side.

Larner · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 3: O! Water Is Fair That Leaps on High (Prompt: Fountain)

Well, he said to pull, and Estel did! Heh! Love the Bath Song reference in the title of course.

Author's reply

Poor Estel - he was just trying to help. The title seemed appropriate :>)

Larner · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 2: Raining Cats And Dogs (Prompt: Rain)

And some children are so literal-minded! At least Estel was not disappointed! Heh! Home the kitten becomes a constant companion.

Author's reply

Estel wasn't disappointed, but I think Elrohir was rather surprised!

Larner · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 1: Glorfindel Says ... (Prompt: Snow and Ice)

Ah--fun to see these here, too. Yes, children will repeat the most awful things they've heard at the most inopportune times! Heh! Poor Celebrian, to hear such things from her beloved babes, who are already being corrupted by an indiscrete reborn Elf! Heh!

Author's reply

Elrond and Celebrían probably won't be that shocked - they know Glorfindel too well!

Lindelea · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 3: O! Water Is Fair That Leaps on High (Prompt: Fountain)

...based on a true-life incident, perhaps? Rings true. Thanks!

Author's reply

No, actually; but I could picture it so clearly!

Lindelea · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 2: Raining Cats And Dogs (Prompt: Rain)

Awwwww. Will never again think of that particular phrase in quite the same way.

Author's reply

Elrohir should remember that children can take things very literally, as he was just as bad himself!

Lindelea · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 1: Glorfindel Says ... (Prompt: Snow and Ice)

LOL! Do you know how hard it is not to *snork* and waken the child sleeping on the couch nearby...? I need to head to bed myself, but thanks for the nightcap.

Author's reply

LOL! I hope you didn't wake anyone :)

Lindelea · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 5: A Riddle In The Dark (Prompt: Lake)

*snicker* Just how did he know whose names to call...? And why do I think that the possessors of those particular names just happen to be within hearing (and perhaps seeing, as they would not want to miss the expression on his face, would they)? Surely it's not an innocent mistake.

Author's reply

They didn't actually intend this - but Erestor just assumes that if anything happens, the twins are usually to blame somehow!

Laikwalâssê · 28 March 2011 · Chapter 1: Glorfindel Says ... (Prompt: Snow and Ice)

love it! on Glorfindel you can count...Thank you. Lai

Author's reply

The trouble is, Elrohir adores Glorfindel and thinks he can do no wrong :>)

ellie · 27 March 2011 · Chapter 4: Diversions (Prompt: River)

oh great... just what erestor wanted to hear, i'm sure. LOL!

Author's reply

Erestor doesn't care, but what will Gilraen say when Estel turns up soaking wet?

ellie · 27 March 2011 · Chapter 2: Raining Cats And Dogs (Prompt: Rain)

oh! how cute! i hope he got to keep the kitty.

Author's reply

I hope so - he deserves it.

ellie · 27 March 2011 · Chapter 1: Glorfindel Says ... (Prompt: Snow and Ice)

oh my! what glorfy said and the little one repeated! LOL! love it!

Author's reply

Glorfindel needs to learn what he says around the twins - Elrohir has a habit of quoting unfortunate comments :)

eiluj · 27 March 2011 · Chapter 1: Glorfindel Says ... (Prompt: Snow and Ice)

And in the midst of the humor of the appalling parental moment is that marvelous phrase "the runic prints of birds."

Author's reply

Thank you - that was my favourite line too :)
