An interesting assay into the form.

Larner · 11 April 2012 · Chapter 10: Caves of the Forgotten

They certainly brought upon themselves the sleep that they found themselves entrapped within.

Author's reply

Yes, they did =)

Ellynn · 6 April 2012 · Chapter 9: Music of Ainur

Wow! Another wonderful piece, and again I bet it was difficult to write. I really admire you.

Author's reply

Thank you! It's easier in English, because there are several rhyming dictionaries online =)

shirebound · 5 April 2012 · Chapter 9: Music of Ainur

Oh, I like that! There's a lilting joy about it.

Author's reply

Thank you very much!

Larner · 5 April 2012 · Chapter 9: Music of Ainur

A fascinating rhyme scheme, and one of my favorite themes in the Silmarillion!

Author's reply

Thank you!

Larner · 3 April 2012 · Chapter 8: Heavenly Dance

Again, an excellent use of the prompts and the poetic form. Love the juxtaposition of the two heavenly bodies here.

Author's reply

Thank you very much!

Larner · 3 April 2012 · Chapter 7: Éala Éarendel

A perfect offering for the prompts, and thanks so for the notes that show the research done. Tolkien was certainly inspired by his own studies!

Author's reply

I love that sentence in Old English - Eärendil, the Star of Hope being also the spark of inspiration that led to the creation of Middle-earth...

Larner · 3 April 2012 · Chapter 6: Rochallor

How well you've woven in all of the prompts! Well done!

Author's reply

Thank you very much!

Virtuella · 3 April 2012 · Chapter 7: Éala Éarendel

Lovely!

Author's reply

Thank you!

Ellynn · 2 April 2012 · Chapter 7: Éala Éarendel

Aww, so beautiful!

Author's reply

Thank you!

shirebound · 1 April 2012 · Chapter 5: Eagles of Manwë

This poem soars... worthy of the wind lords!

Author's reply

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it!

Larner · 29 March 2012 · Chapter 5: Eagles of Manwë

I rather like the great Eagles also, and love this look at their actions throughout the ages of Middle Earth.

Author's reply

I struggled with this form a bit, I'm glad you like it!

Larner · 29 March 2012 · Chapter 4: The White Tree

Oh, but this is beautiful! Hope embodied in emerging tree and returning king!

Author's reply

I liked the paralelle =)

shirebound · 28 March 2012 · Chapter 4: The White Tree

Lovely. That last part gave me chills. What a lonely, determined, wonderful little tree -- destined to be greeted with reverence, sweet misting waters of a fountain, and love from generations of grateful folk.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! The tree is just like a certain Ranger who became king =)

Siiw · 22 March 2012 · Chapter 3: Shadows of Nan Elmoth

You have handled these prompts very well, and I have enjoyed reading all of them so far. The third one feels almost like a Viking poem.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! Yes, it should feel old, as it uses aliterative verse which was mostly used for the sagas.

Larner · 22 March 2012 · Chapter 3: Shadows of Nan Elmoth

Very creative response to the prompts. I like it!

Author's reply

Thank you again! =)

Larner · 22 March 2012 · Chapter 2: Of Names and Decisions

That was masterful--both initial letters and rhyme, brought together with a most proper meter.

Author's reply

Thank you!

Larner · 22 March 2012 · Chapter 1: The Ride of Oromë

And we rejoice that Nahar's progeny remained in Middle Earth as the Lords of Horses! Beautiful poetry!

Author's reply

Thank you very much! It makes sense that the Mearas would have some Amanian blood in them, I think =)

Ellynn · 22 March 2012 · Chapter 3: Shadows of Nan Elmoth

Beautiful! And it must've been really difficult to write it... at least I imagine so. I mean, making a poem that can be read in three different ways, and each to make sense... I would never make it!

Author's reply

Thank you very much!

ellie · 19 March 2012 · Chapter 2: Of Names and Decisions

Cool! I really like this one. well done!

Author's reply

Thank you!

Cairistiona · 17 March 2012 · Chapter 1: The Ride of Oromë

Ooooh, beautiful! As in "lump-in-the-throat-as-I-read-it" beautiful.

Author's reply

Thank you very much, Cairistiona!
