I don’t know if you’ll see this, but I wanted to let you know I love this story. I come back to re-read it every so often when the mood strikes. I hope circumstances in your life let you finish this someday, but even if not, I still enjoy this story, even unfinished.

I really love your story. Can't wait for update. Thank you!!!

PSW · 6 December 2016 · Chapter 23: XXIII: A Merry Meeting

This chapter was so wonderful! I especially loved the quiet conversation at the end between Manwe and Pippin. I can remember lying in bed with my sisters when I was little, or across the room from my roommate (who is still my best friend) in college, and talking long into the night. They are good memories that that make me smile, and your descriptions here did too. Such a simple, everyday scene...it complemented their discussion of Olorin's simple, everyday song very nicely. :-) I've reached the end of what there is! I can't even tell you how much I have loved this story -- it definitely ranks as a favorite. Thanks so much for the time and effort you have put into it, and for continuing despite everything real life throws at you. I will be looking forward to the next chapter, whenever it may appear. In the meantime...take care of yourself, and Merry (upcoming) Christmas! 😊

PSW · 6 December 2016 · Chapter 22: XXII: Friends and Family

Oh no! Poor Pippin... :-P Not really that unexpected, though...

PSW · 6 December 2016 · Chapter 21: XXI: Questions and Answers?

How fun! I'm curious what time and a new form will do for Olorin's temperament, where Pippin is concerned... 😋

PSW · 6 December 2016 · Chapter 20: XX: Complications

Of course they run into Pippin -- why wouldn't they? ;-)

PSW · 6 December 2016 · Chapter 19: XIX: Expect the Unexpected

I'm so enjoying this whole bit! It's great that these two have some leisure time to spend together, and equally great that they're spending it as Hobbits. :-) It's so very good to have someone to just talk to -- to work through things out loud with someone who can reflect and reassure, but who can also be truthful and knows when not to try and 'fix' things. A sibling gives each the perfect opportunity to feel free to be completely themselves.... Thanks so much for writing! :-)

PSW · 6 December 2016 · Chapter 14: XIV: Enquiring Minds

I was almost glad to see the idea of a personal grudge brought up here, if only as *some sort* of explanation for Lintamacar. He's really starting to get on my nerves -- come one, dude, everybody's got to give a little bit here -- but the grudge thought at least makes it seem a little less arbitrary. I mean, I get it, and I know that there are personalities that see insult where there is none intended...but whew... :-P Hopefully they can get this all straightened out, whatever misunderstanding there is (on whichever side) can be smoothed over, and he can learn to be happy again...

PSW · 5 December 2016 · Chapter 10: X: The Court of the Ainur Begins

Wow! I had never heard of the artist you mention at the end, and went straight to Google. You're so tight -- amazing, beautiful work! I've been meaning to say that I really like Vanyalos a lot. His character is just so welcoming. :-) Thanks as always for writing!

PSW · 4 December 2016 · Chapter 7: VII: Through a Glass, Brightly

Fun! Seeing their beloved home worked in glass... So wonderful. :-)

PSW · 4 December 2016 · Chapter 6: VI: At the Faire

Boys' day out! Sounds like fun.... And yes, I'm sure they did draw all kinds of attention... :-)

PSW · 4 December 2016 · Chapter 5: V: Evening Council

If only we were all strong enough to be able to risk looking like an idiot and admit when we were wrong. So hard, but it might save so much heartache and frustration.... Thanks for writing!

PSW · 4 December 2016 · Chapter 4: IV: Smaller Matters

I think the timing of Hobbits with Earendil was lovely -- it gave me a bit of a shiver when I read it. I really liked Frodo's thoughts on *why* someone who had never had a problem with Olorin before might potentially be reacting badly to this new revelation -- always do important to stop and ask *why*. And I can see this happening, really -- both in this case, and I'm his example with Elladan. Our prejudices are so silently sewn in sometimes that we don't actually even realize they're there until something happens to highlight them... Enjoying, thanks!

PSW · 4 December 2016 · Chapter 3: III: Brothers Abroad

Am really enjoying this! *smiles happily* For me, the sense of Olorin and Manwe's 'siblinghood' really started to gel in this chapter. They both seem as if it is becoming a more comfortable state of being for them... Thanks again for writing!

PSW · 4 December 2016 · Chapter 2: II: Unsettling News

I have been recently listening to a book by the author Henri Nouwen, and he wrote of how intimacy when it comes to God is just the opposite of human intimacy -- while human intimacy suggests a small group or a type of exclusivity, the intimacy of God must be understood as completely inclusive. He really is able to love all uniquely without slighting anyone else, but this is so far from our human experience that it is very difficult to grasp. The conversation here reminds me a lot of that -- jealousy and fear abound because people compare and are afraid they are not loved and respected. On another note -- I wish I could just tap my cup and have tea appear... :-P Thanks so much for writing! :-)

PSW · 4 December 2016 · Chapter 1: I: Family Breakfast

I was so happy to see another chapter posted for this story. I have so enjoyed your other stories -- not only are they fun and interesting, but there is a depth to them that really draws me (much like the discussion that followed from the observation regarding remaining in fana too long in this chapter). Your work has given me much to think on. I did not start this one, as it was not finished, but seeing this update I am starting it now! :-) I very much enjoyed this chapter, and am anxious to see in the next what kind of trouble was stirred up by all the news and revelations -- it's always something, and someone... :-P I read your author's note in the most recent chapter, and will definitely pray for you during this Advent and Christmas season -- I hope you continue to feel better. Thanks so much for writing!

Ah, good to see this continuing. Hang in there readers of good stories are very patient! Huggs, Lynda

Larner · 1 December 2016 · Chapter 23: XXIII: A Merry Meeting

So glad to see you posting again! It has been a time since this was updated. How very Pippinish, the Pippin who answered Gandalf's question as to what would please him with the statement he wanted to know everything from under-earth to over-heaven. Heh! And I am glad he is receiving word of Frodo healed. What joy!

curiouswombat · 1 December 2016 · Chapter 23: XXIII: A Merry Meeting

How good to see another chapter-I am so pleased that you have felt up to writing it.

shirebound · 1 December 2016 · Chapter 23: XXIII: A Merry Meeting

"So you came to the Shire, disguised as traveling hobbits. Is that what ordinary siblings of your people do for a lark?" Oh, what a marvelous and absolutely "Pippin" thing to ask! Thank you for gifting us with this long and satisfying chapter, especially since you've been going through a dark time. There's so much love and wisdom here; I hope you're as delighted at the tale being told through you as we are to read it. And this... Pippin's melancholy fled in an instant. "Oh? Is it as bright as the stars, or as beautiful as trees, or as strong as the sea?" He mentioned those things, recalling how the tales of the Valar said that they were among the many things they treasured. Manwë nodded. "All those things, and more, much more. The One heard Olórin's song and took the heart of it as the inspiration for His design when He created Hobbits." That makes me so happy. In all the years I've thought, read, written, and wondered about hobbits, that particular idea never once occurred to me. I love it.

Avyalna · 9 April 2016 · Chapter 17: XVII: Unraveling Threads

I just wanted to tell you how extremely glad I am that you returned. I was afraid you died or abandoned the fandom! I love your stories and was sad for this one remaining unfinished. It would be such a pity. I love your portrayal of the Valar and Maiar nad the life in Aman. And "No Greater Love" is special also that there is fun and suspense even without any serious tragedy. I am reminded of those stupid people who think living in Valinor must be horribly boring. They should read your stories.

FantasyFan · 27 November 2015 · Chapter 22: XXII: Friends and Family

Love to have another chapter of this story. Lots of fond remembrances of Gandalf for Pippin, and Pippin for Galdalf. I'm glad you've written Pippin as smart enough to have figured it all out (mostly) himself. He wouldn't have become the greatest Thain in the Shire if he was an idiot. When we got to the very end of the chapter, I kind of expected him to give Manwe a big hug. Fainting works too! Perhaps the big cousinly hug might come in the next chapter, once he gets over the shock.

Larner · 26 November 2015 · Chapter 22: XXII: Friends and Family

What a thing to learn--that he's now related through love to Manwe himself! And trust Frodo to make certain that Pippin studied to get the answers he wanted so to have! Good for both of them!

curiouswombat · 26 November 2015 · Chapter 22: XXII: Friends and Family

We give thanks for story-tellers... As for ***Although Christopher Tolkien dismisses this deleted passage as meaning that Gandalf never returned to the Shire before sailing West, I prefer to think it was left out not because it didn't happen, but to simply shorten what was an otherwise lengthy denouement to the entire story.*** I am sure you are right.
