Hi Fiondil I hope that you had a good Xmas and New Year. Living in Perth Western Australia, at this time of the year its usually hot. At least this year the weather for Xmas Day was nice. Hope the weather was nice for your day. I enjoyed this chapter very much. Really glad to see the cast in Wiseman. I am still not sure where you are going with this story. I have to admit I'm rather curious to where this is going. Happy New year Trish(Galathil)

Author's reply

Hi Galathil. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. As for where this is all going, I guess you'll have to tune in and find out. *grin* Happy New Year. Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 2 January 2015 · Chapter 106: The Tour Continues

Good morning, Atya, and Happy New Year :) Looks like I might be first to review this time (isn't that a reversal!) My favorite moments of this chapter were Nick talking to the book, Turgon and Alex (got to keep that ice cream from melting) and "We saw a dragon". Really the whole chapter is my new favorite but those bits had me stifling laughter (really stifling as it's nearly 3 AM and I need sleep and shouldn't be waking up people) I love the idea of skateboarding Elves. But maybe not Turgon. lol :) I think Turgon needs a few lessons in tact, but then, he's a Reborn, so... Love the glimpse of Erestor's store. :) Looking forward to Monday!!! Tye-melin, Kaylee

Author's reply

Hi Kaylee. Those are the highlights of the chapter for sure and I'm glad you enjoyed them. Turgon needs a lot of lessons, but I think he's not as bad as he appears, just very confused. He remembers Middle-earth and nothing around him even looks similar to what his memories are. Thanks for being the first in the New Year to review. Tye-melin.

6336 · 1 January 2015 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

Hm, been a while since my last review, been kind of busy, Christmas, New Year etc. So, let's see what has been happening, I am with Olorin with regard to the mass arrival of all the kings of Aman, I hope the Maia are on their toes with their non interference! Loren is right, they are a very tempting target for the Dark Ones in our midst, it would not take long to pull together some thing nasty, a single brick of C4 dumped in the middle of them would make a mess it would take Namo Yeni to sort out! Just how many came, I make it to be at least ten named, plus at least five more guards, plus who knows how many support staff? Trying to remember how many came on Vingilot the last time. At least five will be staying, Elrond, Calibrian, Dar, Cani and Amarie for starters. Elrond seems to have enjoyed himself and made himself useful in the after math of the accident, his sons have grown and changed in the many years since he last saw them, he is right to be very proud of them. Nell, fathers are fathers, no matter how old you are and how old you get, you will still be their baby girl to be loved and guided. I wonder just what Galdrial's thoughts are on the matter! Oh, Alex, boy the things you have had to do. Cleaning up somebody else's mess is no fun, if the Russians knew what Iliyavitch was doing why didn't they take care of him them selves, or was he too powerfull or too good at what he did? I am glad Amroth and Ron were able to help him. Poor Derek, some how bran flakes and a bagel just don't seem adequate compensation for cracked ribs and a bruised lip, Alex you owe him big time! As for the tour, it might have been better with a smaller group or a few Ennorath Elves along to help keep things under control. Poor Serener, no falling on your sword is not an option, besides Namo would send you back double quick with a flea in your ear for doing some thing so stupid!( you would have thought that in all this time Elves would have come up with some un armed self defense moves, but then thinking about it the only Elves we have seen use them are Ennorath Elves, Gil and Ron.) Silly Elfs indeed, is Finrod mad at him self or the others? One more thought, I don't see where Peterson can call them God Less, if any thing they have a closer connection to God than many, since some of them work with Angels and Arch Angels on a daily basis, just how much interaction has Peterson had with the Elves any way, 'know thy enemy'? Long review but I think I am caught up. Happy New Year, Lynda S

Author's reply

Hi Lynda. A busy time for most. With support personnel and all, I think about 30 people came altogether. I think the Russians were afraid of Ilyvitch. He was too powerful and too far up in the government, which is why they refused to do anything about him and that's why Alex was sent. I doubt the Russians were happy about that but hey! that's what happens when you refuse to clean house yourself. Someone else ends up doing it for you. The Elves had no real reason to develop unarmed defense, not in the stylized forms we know today. I'm sure every warrior learned a few tricks in case they were without a weapon but nothing systematic. Obviously, those Elves who remained in Middle-earth learned the martial arts alongside Mortals so they have skill the Elves from Valinor do not have. Finrod is angry at both himself for thinking he could handle any situation that came along and at the others for not listening to him and realizing that there was nothing to fear because none of the Mortals exhibited fear. I doubt Peterson is the type to interact with Elves too much and if asked about angels and archangels would most likely quote the maxim about how even Satan can appear as a being of light, blah, blah, blah. Some people seem to revel in their self-delusions instead of dealing with the truth. And now we're both caught up. Happy New Year.

Larner · 1 January 2015 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

An enbarrassing incident for the Amanians. I empathise with Finrod.

Author's reply

Yes, very embarrassing, Larner. Poor Finrod, but I think he's forgotten what it was like when he first arrived in Wiseman. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Sunny · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

Abit of fun: Somehow the guests' reactions to modern fashions (an a bit the Mortals' comments about sneaking out for a a night of fun on the town) reminded me of this song. A bit non-PC. ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7iXpTJk15s

Author's reply

Thanks for the link. Very amusing.

Sunny · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

Seems this modern world is not to everyone's taste. Especially that of the guards'! ;-) I suppose we should be relieved that the Elves are visiting at a time when the temperatures are still fairly cool. this being Alaska and all. If they had been presented with what some people like to wear in the summer I'm sure they would have been horrified. And the Valinoreans really aren't ready to see a bikini yet - if ever. Tee-hee. I loved that little kid! There's nothing like a young child to embarrass anyone in the vicinity. Silly Elfs indeed! ;-) And the newcomers were (perhaps predictably) thunderstruck since they haven't actually seen a child in thousands of years. Which reminds me - have Amroth and Nimrodel told the visitors about their personal population explosion yet? I guess they immediately knew she was pregnant, but do they know there are _three_ in there?

Author's reply

Hi Sunny. This world does take getting used to. And children, especially the very young ones, are very good at embarrassing the adults in the vicinity. The newcomers were very thunderstruck at the sight of the child, especially when that child appeared not to be in awe of them. *grin* Actually, they do know about the pregnancy and I suspect they've also been told that Amroth and Nimrodel are expecting triplets. That would've been a topic of conversation among them before Glorfindel, Finrod and the ap Hywels showed up. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

rikki · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

Government spies who assassinate targets but who also have met Atar, three piece business suits, teenagers who are not impolite per set, but who don't feel the need to give bows to their elders, bikinis, wailing sirens - you are certainly showing the readers all the things that the new Elves are having to assimilate as they tour Wiseman. If this is a small town how would they handle being in Los Angeles or New York? I am beginning to see the logistical nightmare that is facing any Elf who will be fighting the Last Battle in Middle-Earth. Learning the language, dealing with the customs and mores of mortals would give anyone a headache. I think though everyone wanted to come on this tour, it might have worked better to have had smaller groups of Elves and space them out so that they could see what is available but not large enough that they overwhelm the sidewalks and stand out among the mortals. You did have me chuckling in some places during this chapter, especially when Galadriel is complaining about Nellium living in a dorm and the ap Hywel brothers asking about how old one has to be to cross the street. The four year old kid basically pointed that the elves were pretty silly. But I am not sure why Finrod ended up being so angry. Hopefully things will work out as the tour continues. And is Olrion going to show himself at some time? I am looking forward to continuing the tour. I hope you have a great week. Also, Happy New Year!

Author's reply

Hi Rikki. Yes, there's a lot for them to assimilate and you're right that it probably would've been better (though not quite as much fun for the reader) if they had toured in smaller groups. I'm glad you found much humor in the chapter. We'll actually see Olórin in the next chapter, though he won't be showing himself exactly. Thanks for reviewing and Happy New Year to you, too.

Soledad · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

"Silly Elfs", indeed! How the mighty have fallen! ;) The ap Hywels have adapted to the presence of royalty quite nicely - being more at home in our world apparently helped. Finrod is very brave to take the visitors to town all on his own, but perhaps having at least one or two Wiseman Elf with them would have been wiser. Looking forward to further excitement.

Author's reply

Hi Soledad. Yeah, that's for sure. Poor Elfs. LOL! The ap Hywels have long ceased to be in awe of anyone, I think, and of course, being more at home in our world does help in that respect. You're right about Finrod. It probably would've been better if he'd asked a couple of other Wiseman Elves to come with them on the tour. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. He'll know better next time if there is a next time. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Eruherdiriel · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

Whew. I thought that Turgon was entering a memory, and it would be a while before they could bring him back. ~Eruherdiriel

Author's reply

Well he was sort of reliving his last moments in Gondolin, but luckily he was able to pull himself out of it. The little boy probably helped. Thanks for reviewing Eruherdiriel. I appreciate it.

Kevana · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

I think maybe a stop by the local fire station needs to be part of the grand tour, now. :P If Turgon had a panic attack/flashback over a fire truck, I'm rather worried about what might happen if he sees an airplane. Well, worried and sadistically curious. The whole scene had me giggling, what with the guards running about like a bunch of confused mother hens...or no, more like button quail. They're even more flighty and panicky, LOL! Plus Finrod just getting more and more frustrated, and the little boy being completely nonchalant about it...you just have to put your hands over your face, shake your head, and laugh. Can't help but wonder if that's what Olórin was doing. The poor things, though. Weaponless, armorless, trying to guard their royalty in a completely strange place (for some of them, at least). I can see how it'd turn into such a mess so quickly, particularly given their attitudes. Quite realistic portrayal of how it such a thing might go down, or at least I think so! You know what, I hadn't made that connection about Alex and Beren being similar in having died and come back. Interesting. Elves in suits. Why thank you, Fiondil, for that lovely image to carry me through the day. *grin* I'm looking forward to seeing how Nick copes with having a flood of Elven royalty descend on his store, and what the others – particularly Elrond – must think of the easy availability of books. Imagining trying to explain Kindles to them makes my head hurt. I do hope you had a peaceful Christmas! Thanks for the great chapter. Eagerly awaiting Friday's update, too. -Kevana

Author's reply

You're probably right about that, Kevana. A stop at the fire station is in order, though we will not see it here. It is pretty funny 'seeing' them all panicking like that, though. We are a sadistic bunch, aren't we? LOL! Anyway, hopefully the rest of the tour will not be quite so exciting. And you're welcome on the image of Elves in suits. Enjoy! We'll see Nick in the next chapter and yes, trying to explain kindles and nooks and the like would be a headache. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Kevana · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

Deeply disturbing, as you warn it would be. It's no surprise Alex has struggled with memories and flashbacks of that awful experience; I doubt anyone could possibly come through that unscathed. Trauma involving children is always the worst. At least the youngster was able to escape with his help... proof that some good can come of evil situations. Perhaps Alex will even be able to grasp that more fully for himself, in time, and separate the good from the bad. Derek's a special guy, though, and a good friend/adopted brother to take busted ribs in stride like that. On some of the lighter aspects of this chapter: Oooh, I'd love to pick Ingwë's brain about governmental theory – or Elladan's for that matter. Having lived through so many regime changes, he probably has some unique insights. Although you could say the same about any of the Elves, about anything, really! Will the Twins and Serindë be moving out of the story for EA 4, or so I would guess? Or are we going to get to see them in medical school? Am I understanding correctly that the Elves from Valinor don't have coffee? The poor things! Get them to a Starbucks asap! Ugh, wish I could get to a Starbucks asap, there's not one in my town and I have a holiday hangover. :P -Kevana

Author's reply

Very disturbing, yes, but, as you point out, some good came from it with Sergei's rescue. I'm sure with Ron's help Alex will see this eventually. The Twins and Serindë will be in EA 4 though perhaps not as much as people would like. Still, I won't be leaving them out completely. Sorry for your holiday hangover and you still have one more holiday to get through *grin*. Maybe Dunkin' Donuts coffee (if you have one) will help. Thanks for reviewing, Kevana. I appreciate it.

Celeth · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

Oh the poor confused Elfs having a major case of culture shock, and in full view of everyone too. I hope there will be no more such public embarrassments for them for the duration of the tour, or their stay. Well, just enough to shake a few of them off their snobbish pedestals, maybe, but otherwise... What I'd give to see Glorfindel in a three piece suit!!! Almost as much as what I'd give to see him in warrior mode, I guess. I just adore that ellon. I'm still looking forward to that chat between Glorfindel and Turgon. I hope it comes soon, because I worry about the ellon. If ever there's a vulnerable link that can play into the Enemy's hands, it might be him. Not that he is actually bad; he's just so immature, and his responses to some situations show it.

Author's reply

That's for sure, Celeth, and yes, in full view of the Mortals, and that has to be the most embarrassing part of all. Glorfindel in a three-piece suit would be a sight to behold, there's no doubt. For that matter any male elf in a three-piece suit would be a sight. We will see the chat between Glorfindel and Turgon later after the wedding. Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it very much.

Dreamflower · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

Oh dear! *sigh* I can see a simple sight-seeing tour is a lot more fraught with peril than I expected. Of course none of the Valinoreans have any idea of what fire trucks and sirens are, and I can see how it could be triggering for Turgon. I'm not quite sure why Finrod is angry--I'm sure if he thinks about it, he might have had a similar reaction when he first arrived. And the poor embarrassed guards, taking a fairly normal event for a major threat! Galadriel needs to be reminded of the mortals she once knew; after all, she was the one who played matchmaker for Arwen and Aragorn! Perhaps a conversation with Legolas somewhere down the line would be useful. She clearly has forgotten some things she once knew. I got a giggle at the conversation about modern fashion. There are still lots of mortals who don't approve of bikinis! Quite a busy morning so far...

Author's reply

Hi Dreamflower. Nothing is ever simple where Elves are concerned. LOL! We'll see in the next chapter a discussion between Olórin and Fionwë about Finrod and his reaction to the fire truck incident. Galadriel, unfortunately, won't be here long enough, but perhaps while she's here she'll remember things she's forgotten about over the ages. A busy morning indeed and it's not even over yet. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. I greatly appreciate it.

Sarah · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

I love everyones reactions to "Modern America", though the incident with the fire truck was...unfortunate. I suppose its a chance for the locals to see that even the highest and mightiest of Elves aren't quite so perfect as either they, or the mortal residents of Wiseman may have thought. I do hope Turgon is not overly embarrassed by it all, and I am sure that if some of the Mortals understood the "whys and how's" of the situation, they would not find it quite so amusing. On a less troubling note, in regards to the generational differences discussed concerning the lovely Nell, as someone who would be called on a daily basis by a well-meaning father when she went off to college (I actually started screening my calls), it is--sadly---different for most of us ladies. :-) see you in 2015!

Author's reply

Hi Sarah. I'm glad you enjoyed the reactions of the Elves and yes the incident with the fire truck was unfortunate, but hopefully the Elves will get over their embarrassment eventually. And yes, daughters are treated differently than sons, even in this day and age. Luckily for Nell, her dad won't be staying for very long and her uncle has already granted her more freedom than she normally would be allowed back home. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it very much.

Ora · 29 December 2014 · Chapter 105: Finrod Gives a Tour

I love the difference between the cultures. You balance the serious and humorous parts perfectly. I just want to know: what kind of Belgian Waffels did Daeron cook? Those from Brussels or from Liege ? You seem to be interested in Belgium right now, with the child of the Belgian ambasador and now the Waffels :) Will they go to the police station ? Just imagining the guards' expressions when they see armed people or realize that Liam can have a weapon and not them... (or can he ? I don't remember if he's already allowed to carry a gun or wait till the end of his training.) The little boy's reaction to the "Elves acting silly" had me laughing aloud (the woman next to me looked strangely at me) I can't wait for the next chapter, Ora.

Author's reply

Hi Ora. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. As for Belgium waffles, I'm afraid here in America there is only the one kind and I have no idea what the difference is between waffles from Brussels and waffles from Liege. And it's just coincidental as to the mention of Belgium in this chapter. I doubt they will go to the police station, at least not this go around. Legolas isn't quite ready for weapons yet, but he will be soon. Thanks for reviewing. It's much appreciated.

Laer · 27 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

No calm before the storm for Ron this week. But he is helping a lot of beings. The wedding is gong to be coming up soon and everyone will be happy...for a little bit any way. Before they become nostalgic and Ron has to do his magic once more. ;) Poor Alex, he did right in killing the guy (IMHO)....but wow a memory to have to live with. :(

Author's reply

Yes, Ron is pretty busy right now, but he's in his element so he doesn't mind. And poor Alex indeed. Hopefully Ron's 'magic' has helped. :) Thanks for reviewing, Laer. I appreciate it very much.

Sunny · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

Oh those weird human names. I guess Elrond and Celebrían will just have to get used to them. Of course, I guess some Elf names can be ... interesting as well. Certainly Feral pig-sticker of Stone has a certain ring to it. (I know, they aren't Tolkien's Elves. But they are great fun! (Wen Spencer's Tinker books, fwiw. Think of Tinker as a female version of Fëanor - only fun, but more destructive as well. She carries her nickname Godzilla of Pittsburgh with panache!) (Yes, that's what I'm reading (or rereading) this Christmas)) https://www.facebook.com/wen.spencer/posts/740557509368546?_fb_noscript=1 https://www.facebook.com/wen.spencer/posts/740558959368401 Alex is amking things interesting again. So he's ahead of schedule - again - with his episode. And I definitely liked Vorondur's way of explaining Ale' reactions. “Your feelings of being sickened and aroused at the same time are normal physical reactions, very similar to when one is in a combat situation, especially when one is fighting with swords. There is a sick exaltation that accompanies the act of slaying your enemies before you." Sounds like he's been there and done that, and that there's quite a stack of t-shirts in his wardrobe.

Author's reply

Hi Sunny. Alex always makes things interesting. I'm glad you liked the way Vorondur handled it and the way he explained Alex's reactions to what was going on at the time. And yeah, he's definitely been there, done that, and bought all the T-shirts. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it. Enjoy your (other) reading *grin*

Vanime · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

You have quite the skill with weaving the storylines of so many in this part of EA. I wonder how you manage it! :) I love that Ron's sons are staying, and that Elrond and Celebrian are staying as well...Would that Galadriel and Celeborn could stay also, and Ingwe, him too - I hope that Alex gets to met Elrond and Celebrian soon, as he is Estel and Arwen's descendant right? Maybe even Elrond can provide healing for him, and I think it would be good for them to bond. I am surprised at Ingwe's reaction to Alex having an episode, and his concern for him; is it because he is a descendant to Ingwe somehow? Trying to remember the family trees here and really struggling - as you said, the family trees are all interwoven with one another and it is easy to get confused. I know that Elladan and Elrohir and Serinde are used to NYC, as they have had time to acclimate to all of Arda as it is now...can you imagine the shock of Elrond and Celebrian in such a large city? :D I can see Elrond fulfilling a role at EA, by being a teacher and a healer. Squeeling here at that thought..I want to be in EA myself! LOL Elrond has always been my favorite. :D Anyway, thank you for the ride thus far. Looking forward to more, which you seem to be cranking out fairly steadily....<3

Eruherdiriel · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

"Firebrand Offspring"? There really couldn't be a much more appropriate name for Glorfindel. ~Eruherdiriel

Author's reply

I thought it fit him quite well. *grin* Thanks, Eruherdiriel.

Lindelea · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

Mmmm, warm spiced wine. It's one of our Christmas traditions, and for some reason this year it was especially delicious. Still wondering why Derek was worried about Alex well before this brainstorm happened. Will we find out what was setting him off?

Author's reply

Hi Lindelea. Mulled wine was always a favorite of mine, though my meds no longer allow me to indulge. I doubt we'll ever know what was worrying Derek about Alex. I'm afraid this episode has overshadowed whatever was bothering Alex previously, though perhaps this episode has brought things to the fore sooner rather than later. It could simply have been an attitude thing with Alex or the fact that being an adrenaline junkie he was wishing for a fix. At any rate, thanks for reading and reviewing. It's appreciated.

Larner · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

Ah, I was wondering if that was a form of Gilgamesh's name, and I was obviously right! Had a hamster named Nabu once, Nabu being my favorite from the Babylonian pantheon. I can see what Alex snapped this time, but dealing with a sordid past will definitely not be done overnight.

Author's reply

That's true, Larner. It will take time and patience for Alex to get through all the baggage of his past, but luckily he has Vorondur to help him. The Sumerian/Babylonian pantheon is quite interesting and quite different from the Greco-Roman one. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

rikki · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

Your chapter titles are usually very descriptive of what is happening and when I read today's title I was worrying over what had happened. The chapter, while it was darker than most, did have some glimmers of light in them. I liked the way you tempered the good with the bad. Yah! It looks like Elrond and Celebrian will be staying. Though they will have a lot of catching up and adapting to do, the twin's parents will be happiest with their sons. It must be very hard to see one's children and realize that they have been through a dark time and one could do nothing to ease their pain. Celebrian and Elrond will never know all that Elladan and Elrohir have been through, but the future is looking bright. Maybe Elladan will find a mate in New York? Poor Alex, it seems like he can't catch a break. I feel sad that he thinks himself a monster even though, as Ron says he has done evil in order to combat greater evil. I hope that if he can ever forgive himself, Alex will find a measure of peace in his life. His talks with Ron are certainly helping and perhaps if he talks with Ingwe, he will see that others do care for him and accept him without judging. When is the wedding? I can't wait to see everyone in their finest and celebrating a wonderful day. I'm sure you will write a lot of laughter as well as tears of happiness. Have a good weekend. I am in the mountains of home again with family enjoying the holiday though I am stuck with a tablet instead of a laptop. No internet at the house. But I will be here Monday for the next chapter.

Author's reply

Hi Rikki. I do try to balance the dark with the light if at all possible. Even in our darkest hours we are usually capable of humor, even if it's gallows humor. Elrond and Celebrían do have a lot of catching up and adapting to do, but I think they will do okay. Alex is in a bad place right now but he's surrounded by people who genuinely care for him and wish him only well. I'm sure he'll make it and be the stronger for it. The wedding is soon, I promise, but there are a few other things that have to happen before we get to it, including the highly anticipated tour (next week) and the dinner party with the ap Hywels, Galadriel and Celeborn and Alex and Derek. Have a good weekend yourself. Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it very much.

Dreamflower · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

Poor Alex! He has so much in his past to forgive himself for. I can understand why this particular incident clings to him. To have to see even a little of such a distressing and disgusting thing would make anyone of any decency feel soiled and guilty. I'm glad he now has someone as wise as Vorondur to deal with it. And I am grinning so hard at the revelation that Elrond and Celebrian are staying! If I grin any harder it will meet at the back and make the top of my head fall off. : D

Author's reply

Hi Dreamflower. Yes, Alex has a lot of baggage to deal with and a lot of guilt, but luckily he has someone like Vorondur to help him through it and point out things he doesn't see, such as Sergei calling him Uncle Gordy and thinking of him as family. We certainly don't want your head to fall off. LOL! But I'm glad you're pleased that Elrond and Celebrían are staying. Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it.

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

Atya, Merry (belated) Christmas! Sorry I've fallen lax in reviewing, *again*, but RL got in the way again. :( Trust me, I've been reading all along though, and I love how the story's going. I laughed so hard when Ron's boys had to be taught the difference between 'not allowed to run away and hide' and 'not allowed to go back'. It's interesting me very much that not only have the Valar relaxed the Ban (or was I merely presuming one?) on not returning to Ennor, but that some of the Elves are deciding they wish to remain. Maybe the Valar were getting bored with the stagnation of the Elves and needed to shake things up by eliciting an emigration? (It's hard to imagine that life in Valinor would grow dull with Celeborn, Galadriel, Elrond, Thranduil, Ecthelion and the Legolases there, but, well...) Oh God, poor Alex, so, so so much. That poor little boy, too. (And poor Derek, getting beat up on, glad he'll be OK even if he's not fit for dancing!) I've loved the story so far and this chapter is my new favorite. As you know, that's until the next favorite comes along LOL! I hope your Christmas wasn't too hectic, and that you're enjoying a peaceful Boxing Day :) Mine will be anything but peaceful, when the relatives descend en masse in less than two hours...I'll be wanting to flee to Edhellond by then! LOL! Wish me luck :P Tye-melin tenn' Ambar-metta :) Kaylee

Author's reply

Hi Kaylee. I can certainly appreciate how RL would get in the way, especially this time of year. I'm glad you've been enjoying the chapters, especially this one. I think the Valar knew that certain people would want to stay and are secretly pleased that they are wanting to, so I don't think there will too much fuss when the time comes for the rest to leave. We'll see who stays and who goes at the end of the story. My Christmas was quite lovely, though I have to work today but I have next Monday off so that's okay. Good luck with your horde of relatives. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, Kaylee. I appreciate it. Tye-melin.

Amony · 26 December 2014 · Chapter 104: Descent into Darkness

Now, I can bet Tilion waved back to Elrohir every night and enjoyed the antics of his "children" :D :D Poor Sergie, I can only hope that since he is so young, when he grows up he wont remember much, but that's only hoping :'( I think Alex was brave, very brave indeed. To stand aside while watching a poor child being tortured but remaining cool for the sake of the other children isn't something everyone can do, I myself would have ripped that monster's skin of his face immediately :D :D One has to wonder if the Valar are going to allow all these people to remain behind. Looking forward for the wedding :D :D :D :D :D

Hi Amony. I'm sure Tilion got a kick out of the Twins as well. I have no doubt that little Serge was given the best psychological care and love from his adopted parents and he's turned into a fine young man. Alex had a hard decision to make and while he probably regrets it, in the long run it was the best decision he could have made. I doubt if everyone will even want to stay behind, certainly the kings will not, but a few of those with families might. We'll have to see. The wedding is coming up soon, I promise. Thanks for reviewing. It's greatly appreciated.
