It's an interesting gap to fill of how long that journey took Boromir and i'm glad to see some glimpses of how Boromir passed that time and what he saw and experienced.

Larner · 5 December 2016 · Chapter 15: At Last Relief

At least Elrond is experienced enough with those who have traveled long and must stand and report to anticipate what will be most appreciated! Heh! Most appropriate!

Larner · 13 November 2016 · Chapter 13: Making the Jump

I, too, would be having to find my courage in that situation.

Larner · 13 November 2016 · Chapter 14: Never Too Late to Change

Oh, yes, tripping could well be cause for further embarrassment and possibly even personal injury!

shirebound · 12 November 2016 · Chapter 13: Making the Jump

What a sweet moment between Pippin and Boromir.

quodamat · 11 November 2016 · Chapter 10: By the Sea

Too cute! I must admit, I remember that when my brother was born (I was almost 4 at the time), I was quite dismayed by the fact that he wasn't much of a playmate right off the bat. Although, at least I wasn't hoping he'd play swords! Thanks for a sweet story. :)

quodamat · 11 November 2016 · Chapter 12: Darkness

This is wonderful! Not only is your writing rich and evocative, I love the connection between stories that you made through the riddle. Poor Pippin: I bet he wishes Bilbo had stuck to sharing brighter stories all those years ago!

Larner · 8 November 2016 · Chapter 12: Darkness

A good thought to keep one shivery and tense, obviously! Poor Pippin! Glad that Gandalf took pity on him in the end.

Larner · 8 November 2016 · Chapter 11: A Vexing Foe

Poor guy! It's easier to fight an army of orcs than a flying squadron of insects almost too small to see but large enough to torment a man!

Larner · 8 November 2016 · Chapter 10: By the Sea

Oh, yes, a good thing to look forward to! And love Boromir wishing to present his new boy cousin with a sword!

Larner · 8 November 2016 · Chapter 9: Taking Time to Listen

Even as Faramir declared the desire to do the same with Frodo when they met within Ithilien.

Larner · 9 August 2015 · Chapter 8: The Hidden Vale

He must have felt uncertain as he looked down on the Ford of Bruinen and the evidence of the magic-driven flood that had swept away the Nine Black Riders. But he is wise to remember that he is there to learn, and this is, after all, the site of much hidden wisdom.

Larner · 9 August 2015 · Chapter 7: Gondor

I can so imagine Boromir thinking just this! (And Aragorn, remembering his years as Thorongil as well.) Well done!

Tari · 6 February 2015 · Chapter 6: Strong Body, Strong Will

Liver and onions. Yummy, yummy. Both my sisters and I love it.

Larner · 5 February 2015 · Chapter 6: Strong Body, Strong Will

Okay, that is one good idea on getting children to eat the lesser liked foods first--not that anyone can get me to eat liver or rice at all. Heh!

UTfrog · 5 February 2015 · Chapter 6: Strong Body, Strong Will

There is certainly wisdom in this story. We would all be better off following the strategy. However as one of the liver lovers, I object to your choice of enemy. 😀

Author's reply

Oops! Sorry about the liver! I did have a bit of a hard time figuring out what food to use, as I don't dislike anything in particular. I actually don't mind liver myself, either, but it seemed to work in this case. Thanks for reading!

obsidianj · 3 January 2015 · Chapter 5: The Path to Rivendell

I like this meeting. I know it was always said that Rivendell was welcoming to men, but on the other hand, it could not easily been found because of the hidden paths. Having a guard there makes sense.

Larner · 2 January 2015 · Chapter 5: The Path to Rivendell

How much relief he must have known at finally coming to the doors of the Last Homely House! Wonderful to see this here now.

Periantari · 2 January 2015 · Chapter 4: Trust

Love moments between the two brothers. This is a nice short dialogue to capture!

Periantari · 2 January 2015 · Chapter 2: Not By Chance

Really like this-- it's a good intro to how all the members came and glad to hear Elrond's first meeting with Boromir.

Aranadhel · 2 January 2015 · Chapter 5: The Path to Rivendell

Have always loved stories regarding people searching for Imladris and meeting the Noldor guardians... wished they had use that for The Hobbit Movie... did you have a name for him?

Author's reply

I actually did have a name for him -- Soronúmë. This scene is part of a longer thing I am working on, but because I had to limit the word count, I ended up cutting out all explanation of who he was, including his name. When I get around to posting the longer piece this came from, this Noldor guardian will definitely get his name back! Thanks for reading!

Larner · 13 October 2014 · Chapter 4: Trust

Oh, how perfectly stated. Boromir sums it up so perfectly!

Antane · 9 October 2014 · Chapter 2: Not By Chance

So true - they were all called, even if they didn't realize at first they were. Not by chance at all did God draw them all together for their great tasks. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Antane · 9 October 2014 · Chapter 3: Snow on the Mountain

I just read the other day this passage from The History of the Lord of the Rings and it speaks of Boromir saying he was almost buried and the earlier drafts had no Aragorn. Thank God he was here in the final version! :) Love the ending. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Antane · 9 October 2014 · Chapter 4: Trust

I am glad that Faramir knew his brother's love. And then Aragorn's later, the king he loved all his life, even when only a longed-for dream he waited to come true. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
