This is fun. I always wondered why Glorfindel had bells on his harness when he met the hobbits and Strider on their way to Rivendell. Now I know why!

:-D Seemed like a good reason to me, anyway! Happy you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much for a lovely Glorfindel story!
I love anything, absolutely anything, about Glorfindel because he is my most, most favorite Elf and hero. But this is a lovely story, and I really enjoyed it. Hoping for more...

What a great story. I was dragging today, feeling blue, and this story lifted my spirits along with Glorfindel's and Asfaloth's. It's very Tolkienish to be reminded that the biggest weapon against us is fear and despair. I loved the picture of the child Estel so thrilled to give gifts.

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it, and that it brightened your day. :-) Yes, I have a very clear mental picture of a darling little boy with grey eyes and a huge grin running around Imladris giving gifts ... :-P

This is so lovely! I would never have expected to read a backstory for the bells, but it fits perfectly with the story, and builds in some insightful character-building moments. Thanks for sharing this!

What a lovely gap filler PSW.
And this is why it is said, the little things mean a lot. It is the small joys you remember.
Glad Glorifindel found a little sunshine.
Thanks for the story

Thank you! :-) And I absolutely agree -- the little things do become the most significant somehow. I'm happy you enjoyed!

Ah! A delightful reason why Glorfindel appeared along the road with jingling bells on his horse's harness!

This is a very nice gap filler. With what joy Aragorn must have heard the sound of that harness when Glorfindel found them!
Author's reply
Thank you! :-) It always seemed that Aragorn was so excited about them, he must be quite familiar with them...
