I loved reading this from Éomer’s point of view. Interesting insights into the males mind. Good grief. Great story, Thank you for posting.

Author's reply

Glad to hear you came to like Éomer’s point of view in the end ;-D

SimplegirlfromLP · 1 June 2020 · Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Wow!, I have one few words for this Éomer and Jerk is just one of them. I don’t like him. Great writing to make me feel something so intense for this character.

Author's reply

LOL, that was not really my intention, though he certainly has his faults. He will learn better eventually and there are reasons why he guards his heart so well.

AJones · 16 March 2019 · Chapter 9999: Epilogue

❤️❤️❤️ it. Thank you for writing.

Author's reply

Thank you, so pleased to hear you enjoyed my story!

Well, all is explained now -- and it turns out that I wasn't all that far off the mark originally. I suspected that she had been in love with a young man -- one of her father's knights, perhaps -- who'd been killed on the Field of Pelennor or perhaps at the Black Gate. It turns out that Lothiriel DID lose a young man whom she had loved -- but although he was a man of Gondor, he was not one of her father's men (more the reverse) and he died in a different time and place than I had imagined. It's lovely to see that she and Eomer have managed to clear up all their misunderstandings and admitted that they've fallen in love with each other in spite of themselves!

Author's reply

Yes, you were pretty near the mark, weren't you! When I first wrote the wedding night scene, I actually included a few more hints, but all my test readers guessed at the identity of the man she was in love with, so I took them out again to muddy the waters ;-D Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the ride! So lovely that you chose the last scene to happen at the cozy hunting lodge. The first time this hunting lodge was mentioned in the previous chapters, I wondered when they will return there, added bonus is that Elfwine is part of the chapter. Thank you for posting your story and this is the literal equivalent of a chocolate cake for me.

Author's reply

I thought the hunting lodge would be a place where they could just be themselves and I wanted to show their new family life. And I'm so pleased to hear you liked the story - I love chocolate cake, so comparing my story to one is a big compliment ;-) Lia

whitewave · 24 August 2016 · Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Enjoyed this chapter very much, it's so romantic and reads like a wedding night. Sort of a second wedding night, I think.

Author's reply

Yes, exactly! Only this time round much nicer, I hope.

whitewave · 24 August 2016 · Chapter 14: Chapter 14

I enjoyed the scene with the Dunlending's female leader, Lothy is such an invaluable asset to Rohan too. I'm glad they will finally have the "talk".

Author's reply

I think that Eomer too knows she's an asset, just finds it a bit difficult to admit at the moment. And yes, 'the talk' coming up ;-)

whitewave · 24 August 2016 · Chapter 13: Chapter 13

Their reunion scene was so romantic, I'm very curious about how you will portray the Dunlendings.

Author's reply

Thank you! I feel rather sorry for the Dunlending women and especially children, losing all the men.

whitewave · 24 August 2016 · Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Very awkward but funny scene with Eomer bulldozing into Aragorn's chambers. The detail about their active use of the palantir for tactical reasons. I've always thought that it's a very useful tool

Author's reply

Yes, I thought that even though only the Orthanc stone is really still useable (so no communication between stones), it could still be useful to spy on the enemy's movements.

whitewave · 24 August 2016 · Chapter 11: Chapter 11

I'm thankful that the battle was concluded fast, Eomer's conversation with Faramir and Aragorn were very helpful in giving some insight about Lothiriel.

Author's reply

I like Faramir and Aragorn very much, so it was nice to be able to include them in this story. And Faramir in particular would of course have known Lothiriel from childhood.

whitewave · 24 August 2016 · Chapter 9: Chapter 10

Felt so sorry for both Eomer and Dordes in this chapter, wish Eomer didn't have toleave but I think this time apart will also help them evaluate their feelings for each other.

Author's reply

Yes, absence might make both of them take a look at their feelings and realise what they are.

whitewave · 24 August 2016 · Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Very sweet domestic scenes of Eomer and Lothy, wish they had confessed their feelings around this time, it thrills me to read when they are reunited.

Author's reply

Wow, you've been busy reviewing - thanks so much! But if they had confessed their feelings in this chapter, the story would have been over much quicker ;-)

curiouswombat · 22 August 2016 · Chapter 9999: Epilogue

A very fitting end - thank you!

Author's reply

Thank you for reading :-)

Linda Hoyland · 22 August 2016 · Chapter 9999: Epilogue

A delightful end to an enjoyable story. I'm so pleased they have their much wanted baby.

Author's reply

Thank you! I'm sure Elfwine will be a very much loved and appreciated child :-) Thanks for reviewing and take care! Lia

Linda Hoyland · 22 August 2016 · Chapter 15: Chapter 15

At last they have had their much needed talk, but it almost went horribly wrong. That was a surprise that she was in love with Boromir! I like the idea Lothiriel has visions like Faramir.

Author's reply

I just couldn't resist having one last misunderstanding ;-) And I thought since Imrahil has very distant Elven ancestors too, something like Faramir's gift might be running in his family too.

Linda Hoyland · 22 August 2016 · Chapter 14: Chapter 14

I'm so glad Eomer is willing to make peace with the Dunlendings.Poor lothiriel having to put up with his moods.

Author's reply

I couldn't help thinking of the situation of Germany at the end of Word War II and how the Allies managed to turn it from a defeated enemy into a valuable ally. Hopefully the Dunlendings will one day be at peace with the Rohirrim.

Kath · 22 August 2016 · Chapter 9999: Epilogue

Thank you for the extra slice! Lovely to meet the baby and see them all so happy! Will definitely read your book and look forward to more LotR fan fiction!

Author's reply

You're welcome! I thought it would be nice to have a glimpse of their family life, now that they're finally honest about their feelings. Thanks for reviewing and until the next time!

Linda Hoyland · 22 August 2016 · Chapter 13: Chapter 13

Poor Lothiriel. What a temper Eomer has! A gripping chapter.

Author's reply

Thanks! Of course Eomer has his reasons for not trusting the Dunlendings, but sometimes you have to take a leap of faith.

Linda Hoyland · 22 August 2016 · Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Eomer is certainly in love as he is overreacting to everything Lothiriel tells him. I hope he doesn't curb her free spirit. So sad there is no baby yet.

Author's reply

He is overreacting a bit, isn't he! But then he still hasn't quite got her measure.

Linda Hoyland · 22 August 2016 · Chapter 11: Chapter 11

I loved all Lothiriel's little touches. Great to see Aragorn and Faramir.

Author's reply

LOL - I thought you'd like to see them ;-)

UTfrog · 21 August 2016 · Chapter 9999: Epilogue

Beautiful story. I enjoyed it all. Thank you.

Author's reply

Thank you for reading! :-)

Larner · 21 August 2016 · Chapter 9999: Epilogue

Oh, yes--in this case both winning and surrender are sweet indeed! Glad they are still learning of and from one another, and that they can enjoy both winning and losing, both surrendering when it is! Am going to purchase your book for my Nook, as I've been unable to get my Kindle app to reenter it. I loved what I read, but Kindle is far less responsive to my preferred manner of reading than the Kindle app for my computer has proved. I try to bring it up and it just lies there on the desktop going, "Huh?" when I try to reopen a book I'd started. I look forward to your next offering to us!

Author's reply

Thanks! I liked the seemingly contradictory ideas of winning by surrender, of gaining by letting go and how the more you give, the more you receive. And I'm sorry to hear you had technical difficulties with your Kindle copy of Bride to the Sun. I love ebooks for the ease of taking them with me everywhere, but paper books do have some advantages! I hope you'll enjoy the story though. Thanks for reviewing! Lia

PSW · 18 August 2016 · Chapter 15: Chapter 15

I really enjoyed this! Very well written, thanks for sharing! :-)

Author's reply

Thank you! I'm really pleased to hear you enjoyed my story!

Larner · 15 August 2016 · Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Ah, most satisfactory! Communication is, after all, most often THE key to full appreciation of one another. Am glad to see this at last!

Author's reply

It is, isn't it! Hopefully they've learnt that lesson now!

Paladin1420 · 15 August 2016 · Chapter 15: Chapter 15

I have been following along at home since the first chapter and enjoying it all the way through. Thanks for writing it and I look forward to whatever you post next.

Author's reply

Thanks! There's still an epilogue to come, but after that I'm not sure what's next. Something will pop into my head, no doubt ;-)
