That Aragorn and Faramir would visit the Shire is delightful, although it wouldn't be just a brief detour from Rohan, alas. I rejoice that Lord Strider helped make things right for Sam. And that Men would find Shire meals overwhelming is also delightful!

Thank you so much, I'm delighted you enjoyed this story. I imagined that Aragorn and Faramir could not resist a brief visit to their friends and hope to pay a longer official visit later with their families. I'm sure I would be full after one Hobbit meal too!

Excellent little story. Sam is such a solid fellow that one doesn't imagine him afflicted with nightmares of the quest, but this is a very credible extrapolation on the theme. Loved the description of Faramir and Aragorn chowing down to a hobbit meal made by Rosie.
