Boromir and Théodred, yes!

Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 34: A Sunlit River
Boromir and Théodred, yes!
Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 33: Of Brothers Long Missed
Oh my! What would have happened if Boromir lived… 1, Denethor would probably survive…
Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 30: Born Again
Wow. Excellent! So young Elboron goes to the Hall of the Stewards? I wonder how that came about.
Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 26: Doom
This was tragic until it was overlaid by the thought of Human parents singing that song to their children, which I have read is what happens.
Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 25: Of Mercy
Ah. Thranduil decides it.
Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 23: Not by the Hand of Man
That is not how that works Eärner, you sound like Pharozon. He doesn’t sound like Boromir either. Maybe if Boromir were Saruman? He sounds like if Boromir were Saruman. And if “by the hand of a king will he fall”, Malcolm could have killed Macbeth himself.
Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 22: The End of All
No, that was very *lusty*. Nice drabble. Are people still partying on Númenor? I suppose the queen wouldn’t be. She is probably trying to convince Elendil to escape without her.
Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 19: A Schoolboy Snail
oh dear haha! I think Boromir will have grown up much by then, and have other things to worry about, like Sauron and Rohan and Aragorn. Plus if he did survive, his old tutor might be dead from war or natural causes. This reminded me of that story I was going to write where various ME people were in school…
Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 9: The Mortal Road
Oh! Is this Aragorn about Boromir?
Fimbrethil · 6 November 2025 · Chapter 8: Tidings of Death
Denethor doesn’t hear the horn or sense Boromir’s death, and he hugs Faramir? What is this? The goblet spilling is a nice illustration.
Leithian · 11 January 2022 · Chapter 31: A Golden Queen
Is this galadriel
Larner · 22 July 2008 · Chapter 29: The Chieftain of the Dúnedain
Ah, so your Halbarad is considerably older than Aragorn? It would be interesting to see how the two came then to be friends. Lovely vignette.
mistry89 · 25 April 2008 · Chapter 38: To Know the Other
A real encapsulation of their journeys together. And the sailing always brings LOTR to the end for me. Thank you!
mistry89 · 25 April 2008 · Chapter 39: For a Brother
The little resentments and exhaustion that must arise when such a fearsome task is undertaken, are so clear here. Thank you!
daw the minstrel · 17 April 2008 · Chapter 37: Of Dreams...
I love the simple pleasures of a normal life you show Aragorn dreaming of. But his power is related to those things I think. He can help give them to other people. A tough life though.
shirebound · 16 April 2008 · Chapter 38: To Know the Other
This is utterly beautiful.
shirebound · 16 April 2008 · Chapter 39: For a Brother
he knows that he chooses Pippin as if by helping this youngest Hobbit he can make up for not being able to help his brother. Ohhh, that's very heartwarming. A very nice moment.
Ces · 16 April 2008 · Chapter 38: To Know the Other

Andrea · 16 April 2008 · Chapter 38: To Know the Other
Wow! That's simply perfect! So much said with so few words. I recognised many linguistic means which I could name, when I was at school. Unfortunately that's a long time ago ;-) And I loved the image of the small boat carrying both friends as one to the Undying Lands!
Author's reply
Thank you, Andrea. Trust me - I wouldn't be able to name any of the linguistic means either ;-)
Stefania · 16 April 2008 · Chapter 37: Of Dreams...
What a stunning vignette, Avon. Your choice of words is lovely. Your characterization of Aragorn in his movieverse incarnation is spot on. I wonder if real life generals have such a moment of truth when, after dreaming of peace, they are charaged with going to war? Great job. - Steff

Jay of Lasgalen · 16 April 2008 · Chapter 37: Of Dreams...
I love this. Aragorn's memories of Imladris are so tranquil and beautiful it's a wonder he could ever tear himself away. You have some wonderfully evocative descriptions in this - I could feel myself in Imladris, or on that quiet country road! Jay
Author's reply
Thanks, Jay. All my stories are always description heavy - I love writing it.
Larner · 16 April 2008 · Chapter 39: For a Brother
There is a special friendship that appears to grow between Boromir and Pippin, after all. Wonderful thoughts here. And it is in the end through the protection of the two younger Hobbits Boromir finds his redemption.
Author's reply
Thank you. I love the Boromir and Pippin friendship.
Larner · 16 April 2008 · Chapter 38: To Know the Other
Ah, one of the greatest friendships ever to build out of shared intent and experiences. And I've always loved the shared final voyage!
Author's reply
Thank you. Yes, that shared final voyage was a lovely idea of Tolkien's.
Larner · 16 April 2008 · Chapter 37: Of Dreams...
It is those who do not seek power for its own sake who best deserve it and use it most wisely, it's been found. Excellent imagery in looking at what he DOES seek.
Author's reply
Thanks, Larner. Just letting you know that these 3 pieces will now be moving into my drabble collection - I hadn't realised I shouldn't have posted them separately.
