Adorable! A lovely and affectionate piece with all the warmth and cuteness of a basket of kittens. I love how you named the most mischievous one Pippin! It was a nice thought that Frodo has his furry companions to watch over him when he cannot allow himself to be a burden on his dear human friends.

I remember reading this story once before, and loving it, and it's just as wonderful the second time around. It's so comforting to think Frodo will have his beloved kitties with him.

That was lovely! I absolutely loved the cats' names, as well as the concept of the legent of the Baggins-cats. Twelve kittens, poor mom-cat! Apart from a couple of typos, that was good work! I too have cat stories, you know...

Your story is absolutely delicious. So sweet :-) I love cats (and dogs) dearly, and it's a wonderful idea to have given to Frodo little furry companions to relieve his pain. Pet terapy indeed :-) I hope to read other stories from you soon. Thank you for this one, Frodolover

Oh, my, I love this little tale. My own kitties knead my chest and lick my face, and they all sleep on top of me and one likes to pounce on my feet when I move at night. They are a great comfort, even when laying across the keyboard one is typing on *ahem*, and the only greater joy would be in being able to have them forever. It would be truly wonderful if Frodo had these dear companions too.

This is a very sweet story. Cats are a wonderful choice of companion for Frodo to have on his journey west. Thank you for sharing. MysteriousWays

Oh, Hobbsy! I adore this story. So peaceful and healing! "He also saw scattered all over the coverlet the twelve kittens and Tom and Goldberry watching him more closely than any nurse or healer from the house of Elrond ever had." Sigh. (And I wonder how many cats are in the Shire *now*? Must be... a lot..!)

Thanks for liking my kittie tale! It's one of my personal favorites because I love my own two cats and know how comforting the little creatures can be. They were the inspriation for the felines Tom and Goldberry. It resulted from a discusion on the Khazaddum.com message board about whether Frodo would be a cat or dog kind of person. Obviously I think he is definitely a cat person. Hobbsy BTW I AM the same Hobbsy from LJ. ;)

Here I was missing my own cat who died last spring (a house isn't a home without a cat) and I come across your tale of Frodo's pets. There is nothing quite as wonderful as having a cat curl up to sleep next to you.

I absolutely agree about the charming value of cats, Tim. So sorry your's is no longer with you. Hobbsy
