Melancholia and Madness

Frodo struggles to deal with the aftereffects of his ordeals and with a stranger’s pain. Post quest Frodo angst. With OC, who COULD have existed canon-wise. Or at least someone like her. Not quite a romance. More about understanding our own pains and learning to cope with them. A bit Bronte-ish with some minor hints of Wuthering Heights but mainly this is all Tolkein-inspired.
