i like this chapter. its good. i hope Legolas is OK. he cant die, right?

Author's reply

I'm glad you like this chapter. I wanted the scene between Legolas and Thranduil to be believable. Legolas can't die? Well. Ummm. Uh. You'll have to keep reading to find out. :o)

Sivan · 26 December 2003 · Chapter 16

I loved that cliffy with Legolas, and still love your story. As far as I read, the vernom did not left Legolas body, that is why the pain in Legolas body, right? You can wrote otherwise, if I'm been mistaken. I still love what I read, just keep them coming, Don't forget the cliffies, I love your cliffies, Sivan

Author's reply

The poison is definitely still in Legolas. That will be a big part of the remaining story. I'm happy you are still loving it. You love my cliffies? Thank you. That is rare. Most readers hate cliffies in general, mine or anyone else's.

Eruanna · 26 December 2003 · Chapter 15

That's *not* a very nice sentence to leave us with...which in turn makes it a wonderful sentence to leave us with. *sighs, reflecting on the cruelty of cliffies* It really slams into you after that lighthearted moment; I was laughing along with Legolas. I like the nearly tangible feeling of fear. Fear demonstrated through eyes, body language, and many other things. Excellent portrayal of emotions for both Legolas and Aragorn. But why is the door to the dining hall locked? Oh dear! I certainly *hope* Legolas won't have to sacrifice himself... though, after reading the reviews, I am left with an unmistakable feeling of trepidation. In any case, I am fairly certain that, before this is over, there will be some degree of Legolas self-sacrifice. He is quite good at that. More please!

Author's reply

I had to leave the chapter off with that sentence, because I didn't want anyone thinking that little talk solved everything. Far from it. I try to use more than just narrative to convey emotions. It doesn't give much depth, IMO, to just say someone felt something. I think a writer should "show" it in their characters. I'm confused about the question regarding the dining hall door being locked. I don't remember mentioning that. Did I miss something in my own story? Self-sacrifice? :o)

Sivan · 23 December 2003 · Chapter 15

Forgive me for quote your sentence 'even if it meant the sacrifice of one of his children'... Legolas, is he going to SACRIFICE himself? I love what I read so far, but u need to update daily, please? Sivan

Author's reply

Legolas sacrifice himself? Umm. I can't answer that without spoiling things. Just stay with me, and you'll find out. Update daily? Then you'd run out of story too fast. I'm glad you are still loving it. That means a lot to me.

Eruanna · 19 December 2003 · Chapter 14

Oh my! *shudders* That Elf radiates practically tangible evil! Each twist and turn of this story gets creepier and creepier, as I am more than sure is your intent. Evil evil! That's a rather diabolical plot Mordraug has there. And the story's plot is almost equally so! Keep going! Internet Service Provider! Duh! *smacks herself upside the head* I'm really such an idiot sometimes... Makes me wonder why people keep thinking I'm older than I actually am. But they do, and I just don't get it. Anyway, my family uses Earthlink, much to my consternation. It has always been stupid, but lately it's just been a terror! Though I confess it may be our computer...it is severely outdated. We have a Dell pentium II, and now they're advertising pretty cheap pentium IVs or something... *sigh* Post soon!

Author's reply

I love it when a reader really likes what I've written. Your kind words are much appreciated. Mordraug and his little pet are quite the pair. The eviler the better. Legolas will go through a lot in coming chapters. It will be diabolical and angsty and creepy and... I can say no more. But, you knew that, didn't you? I started out with CompuServe and then went to AOl. I hated them both, as they were nothing but trouble. I'm so much happier where I cam.

Sivan · 19 December 2003 · Chapter 14

Thank u, just in time, I was bored. Legolas' dream, now was very clearly. At least he defended his father. More please, and thank u for this lovely story, as I'm sure there will be more chapters to come, lol! I still love what I read, Sivan

Author's reply

Well, I hope this chapter alleviated some of your boredom. It was the chapter most readers were waiting for, I think. Legolas will always defend his father. Thranduil is a loving father and a great King. Don't worry. Many more chapters will be coming your way. This story is a very long one. :o)

Eruanna · 17 December 2003 · Chapter 13

Goodness! Do tell all! (Who am I kidding?) Poor, poor Legolas. *with slight accent* Next chapter ain't gonna be pretty! *normal voice* Mishaps, large and small, always start so innocently...and from the looks of things, it's usually Aragorn's fault! *slaps herself* (small voice speaks): Be nice to poor Aragorn! Yes, it's hardly Aragorn's fault that he was wimpy human senses.... *evil grin* Anyway, this story is shaping up to be even more frightening that it was before! I am likin' this dream! And pardon my ignorance, but what the heck is an ISP? Post soon!

Author's reply

No, the next chapter won't be pretty. More frightening? I certainly hope you find it so. That's the intention anyway. :o) I couldn't help giving Aragorn a large dose of guilt. It was just too tempting to avoid. He's so good at it. An ISP is an Internet Service Provider. It's a company or organization that provides access to the Internet. I connect through a local company, and as I said before, it is very stable. A lot of people use huge companies like AOL, Earthlink, Comcast, etc.

Sivan · 17 December 2003 · Chapter 13

More please... I still love it, but u need to update more and soon, Sivan

Author's reply

Don't worry. I will keep the chapters coming. I want to thank you again for nominating my story for the MPA awards. It was great to see it listed in the Action category. Did I dream that you also mentioned the Author category? Ah well, it was probably just wishful thinking on my part. There sure are a lot of great writers and stories nominated. It's going to be a good competition.

Eruanna · 15 December 2003 · Chapter 12

*gasp* WHAT'S HAPPENING? I must know! A very intriguing dream sequence... I can't wait for more... But I have no more time to comment, although I'd love to. More please!

Author's reply

Forgive the delay in replying. I'm glad you like the dream. I tried to combine humor and horror. Oops. did I say that?

Sivan · 15 December 2003 · Chapter 12

He began to remember. Now YOU have to go on and update SOON as possible, I want to know what will happen next, please... 'From Good to Worse' like 'From Elfling to Adult' in this case, in his dreams, two dreams. I still love what I read, just keep them coming, Sivan

Author's reply

Forgive the late reply. Yes, Legolas does remember in his dream what happened, but I can say no more.

Eruanna · 15 December 2003 · Chapter 11

Man, I hate our computer. You're going along, minding your own business, when *POOF!* it kicks you off and won't reboot! *sigh* But enough about that! The computer's back up! (For now!) This is so sweet! I love the portrayal of frienship in this chapter. Excellent usage of the notion of 'silence when words are not enough'. And I love the way Aragorn just falls asleep like that. You are left with a unmistakable feeling of peace. But I have a feeling that the said feeling of peace is not going to last long. ;-) Keep going!

Author's reply

I hope your computer is behaving itself. It sounds like your ISP is acting up. I have a local ISP, and it is very stable. I've always felt that silence between friends, who thoroughly understand each other, can sometimes say far more than word Now, how did you know that peaceful feeling wouldn't last? :o) I can say no more, but I just posted Chapter Twelve not five minutes ago.

Eruanna · 14 December 2003 · Chapter 10

Well well! I return to the computer to find two more chapters! But first things first... Poor Legolas! Poor Thranduil! (Did you call that, or what?) How traumatic for my poor baby, finding out his mother died like that! *sniff sniff* *Wahhhhhh!!* And poor Legolas, not knowing that his body still retains the poison! I suspected some kind of thing where Mordraug could activate the poison, but your stunning manner of delivery took me completely by surprise, especially because the reader's awareness of Legolas' illness tends to diminish in the hubbub of the news about Legolas' mother. I'm lovin' it!

Author's reply

I try hard d to keep everyone a little off balance by doing things a little different than the readers might expect. Glad I succeeded here. I wanted to focus on Legolas's mother and then slam the news about the poison in Legolas's system at the end of the chapter. I'm thrilled you are lovin' it. I think that there will be more coming that will surprise you. It's my intention anyway. :o)

Sivan · 14 December 2003 · Chapter 11

You show us the strong of Friendship, that was so good, between Legolas and Aragorn/Estel. I can't wait to next chapter. I still love what I read, just keep them coming, Sivan

Author's reply

I love the friendship between Legolas and Estel, so that is one of the main themes of the story. I will, indeed, keep the chapters coming. Another one tomorrow.

Orophins Dottir · 11 December 2003 · Chapter 10

Yikes! I am definitely going to have to summon the finest warriors of Taur-E-Ndaedelos to kick a little butt here. Yours or Mordraug's I haven't quite decided. To kill first his Naneth and then leave foul poison within Legolas? Sounds like WAR to me. Tell that jerk Aragorn to get busy comforting our prince. I am summoning the healer Haldir from mine own stories! Hang in there, fair Prince! Those that love thee yet ride! Humble (and very irate) Scribe to his Majesty Thranduil

Author's reply

If you are already planning on possibly kicking my butt, I can't imagine what you will do, when you keep reading the story. Should I start gathering my own warriors right now? Fear not, Aragorn has been alerted. However, tell Haldir to stay in Lorien. He will not be able to help. Sorry. "Hang in there, fair Prince! Those that love thee yet ride!" Remember that line later on. You'll know when. :o)

Sivan · 11 December 2003 · Chapter 10

Legolas found the truth in the hard way, so I can see. The conflict between Thranduil and Legolas was so... sory, a I lost my words, it was so good. Poor Legolas, the poison it's still in his body. I still love what I read. When there will be the next update? I've got your e-mail, did you have mine? Keep them coming... Sivan Goodluck.

Author's reply

That was indeed a hard way for Legolas to find out how his mother really died. He will have some issues with his father over it. The poison is still with Legolas, unfortunately for him. I try to update every couple of days, barring any problems. I got your e-mail. I'd also love to visit Israel.

Orophins Dottir · 11 December 2003 · Chapter 9

Oh, No! Here we go again, Legolas! Will thy fair person e'er be out of danger in Arda? Well, at least Ada knows what's going on. This looks to be quite frightening. Anything that gets the Balrog Slayer's voice to tremble is definitely a problem. Great chapter! Kill my liege or his son, though, and you face WAR! Humble Scribe to his Majesty Thranduil

Author's reply

No, I don't think Legolas will ever be out of danger. After all, where's the fun in that? Poor baby. The whole Mordraug/snake thing is going to get even more frightening, so hang on. Yes, Glorfindel was greatly affected by what happened. War? Gulp. I think I'll run away now. Oh, one last thing: I just posted Chapter Ten. Now, I'm leaving.

Orophins Dottir · 11 December 2003 · Chapter 8

*sobs delicately into her lace handkerchief* I loved it! The reunion scene with Legolas was just beautiful. “I do not know of anyone other than Thranduil, who can go from a furious king to a loving father in the space of a minute.” Ah, that is indeed my liege lord! Noro, lim, Asfaloth! We haste to the next chapter! Humble Scribe to his Majesty Thranduil

Author's reply

Being a Thranduil fan, I hoped you would like the reunion scene. I love the elven king, as well, and I quite enjoyed writing it.

Sivan · 10 December 2003 · Chapter 9

Wonderful chapter, at least we got some answers. I love how you did the conflicts between the fathers. I still love what I read so far. Please update soon. Sivan

Author's reply

Glad you liked the chapter. More answers to come and a surprise revelation. I know that both Thranduil and Elrond have such different personalities and they clash, so this won't be their last conflict, believe me. But, they are also both loving fathers Did you get my e-mail about the nomination?

Nikara · 9 December 2003 · Chapter 9

Ah, finally some answers. Not that I like the answers, but some answers none the less. Nice job. Keep it up!

Author's reply

More answers and a big surprise in the next chapter. You probably won't like the surprise. It is heartbreaking. I can say no more. :o)

Eruanna · 9 December 2003 · Chapter 9

*gasp* Completely speechless... I am in awe of this chapter! But I do hope that Thranduil can accept Estel eventually... Poor Aragorn. You had me captivated with Elrond's narrative. Poor Legolas. And to think they all saw this. Poor Elrond. You're not being very nice to your characters. ;-) One of my favorite parts was the very last sentence... 'We were all there.' Completely unanticipated, (by me anyway; but I am usually pretty slow on the uptake), and a perfect but evil way to end the section. Chilling! More please!

Author's reply

Yes, chilling was just what I was going far. It will go beyond that in the future, so stay tuned. I like being cruel to my characters and then being kind to them. It makes for a great contrast. You'll see what I mean, as the story goes along. I'll give you a hint: there's a big surprise in the next chapter. Then, you'll really be saying, poor Legolas and poor Thranduil.

sofia · 9 December 2003 · Chapter 9

this one was really good! with the snake and them finding it out. very intense.

Author's reply

Intensity is one of my middle names. Glad you liked it. I also like humor, and there will be some of that, too, in this story.

JS · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 8

Awww... *melts into a puddle* I love Thranduil. And I love the way you portray him fiercely protective but such the loving father. I don't like it went he's portrayed as abusive to his son; I don't get the sense that he would be from the books. :( Good emotion throughout. I like how it seems well, but you still have that underlying tension that keeps the reader waiting for the next part. Great chapter! :) Heehee I wish the best of luck to Elrond and Glorfindel. ;) With Thranduil, they're going to need it! ;)

Author's reply

I, too, love Thranduil and could never have him abuse Legolas. I don't think Legolas would be the elf we love,if his Ada had been cruel to him while he was growing up. I'm glad you like the underlying tension. I try hard to keep that a viable part of the story.

Sivan · 8 December 2003 · Chapter 8

Eruanna · 7 December 2003 · Chapter 8

How sweet! I really love the display of affection from Thranduil! Once again, an evil place to leave off, but what can I expect? I don't really have much to say about this that you haven't already heard in my previous reviews, but it's still very good! As for my own stories, they are indeed LotR fiction. However, I'm not exactly very old, and my dad is far from crazy about me joining things online, so I must content myself with reading the wonderful fiction posted here and lending my support through reviews! Post soon!

Author's reply

I'm glad you are still liking the story. You don't have to keep saying the same thing over and over with each chapter, just make comments on the things that are in each chapter. I love hearing what people have to say about the various things I write about. As for Thranduil, I've always seen him as a fierce but fair King and a very loving father. I do not like stories that have him abusing Legolas. As for your stories, just keep writing. Experience will do wonders for your writing, even if no one else sees it right now. One day you will be old enough to post online and have readers comment on your stories. I started writing when I was ten and just kept plugging away until now, I have a venue for my work..

Sivan · 7 December 2003 · Chapter 8

I loved how you show the love between Thranduil and Legolas, and I love it. Now, you add another cliffy, and I just can't wait to the next chapter. I want to nominate you for MPA FanFiction awards for Action and Author, for your writing, because I love your story, just to let you know, before nominating. I still love your story, keep up with your good work. Sivan

Author's reply

I feel very strongly that Thranduil was a loving father and never, ever abused Legolas. I'm a cliffie type of person, but all chapters don't end that way. I'm flattered you want to nominate me for an award. That is thrilling. However, I have to plead ignorance. What are the MPA Fanfiction awards? I'm afraid I've never heard of them. On what website can they be found? I'd like to check it out.
