all i have to say is : Oh My God

Author's reply

Translated that must mean you are shocked. Desperate thoughts bring about desperate actions.

Eruanna · 14 May 2004 · Chapter 51

*gasp* Evilness!!!!! My POOR x 9,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 BABY!!!! Hmm.....the confusion in this chapter is very well done, and the reluctance to use Vilya. Poor, poor Aragorn. The shock must have been amazing, and to stand by helplessly whilst your best friend is being mentally or physically attacked us simply galling. It's even hard for me, as a reader, to see Legolas losing hope like that. Poor Elrond! I delight in and abhor cliffies...yours are so evil! You're not gonna kill Legolas *again*, are you?!?!?!?!? Stupid self-sacrifice instinct...although I have to agree with him; it's an excellent solution, except for it's obvious implications. ;-) *gives Legolas big hig* "Mordraug is not a nice person".......!!!! If *that* isn't the understatement of the century! This is so creepy! Post soon!

Author's reply

Thank you. I felt that Elrond would not resort ot using Vilya at every turn when faced with a problem. Aragorn is frustrated beyond belief not to be able to help Legolas, who as you observed is losing hope. Poor baby, he's trying so hard, but Mordraug is just too insidious. Me? Kill Legolas? Never! Oh wait. I already did, didn't I? Umm. Me? Kill Legolas - AGAIN? You'll just have to wait and see. :o) I just might be that evil. After all, Legolas does feel that ending his own life is the only way to stop Mordraug from using him to kill his family and take over Mirkwood. I'm guessing you mean creepy in a good way. More soon.

*~SuGaR~* · 10 May 2004 · Chapter 50

Estel's going to check on Legolas!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see what happens there!!!!!!!!!!! Hope Elrond and Glorfindel think of something good, but is anyone ever going to tell Thranduil? Maybe it might not be such a good idea...especially if Legolas tells Estel about Mordraug using him to kill his family...Thranduil probably wouldn't believe it and try to help his son, but that might not put Thranduil into a very good position if worst comes to worst >.< Argh! Can't wait for the next chapter! POST SOON! *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

At least enough people now know about what Mordraug is doing that someone can come up with a plan that will help Legolas. I'm still debating about whether to have Thranduil involved again. I can only imagine his reaction this time around. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Lossenchristal · 10 May 2004 · Chapter 50

Things are starting to come to a head! Elrond now knows(and believes) that Mordraug has found a way to possess Legolas, and he is going to use all his wisdom and power to find a way to get rid of Mordraug once and for all!:) Like Elladan and Elrohir, I have faith that Elrond will be able to do it!:D Thanks for updating! Please do so again soon!;) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

I think it is apparent that Elrond holds the key. He just needs to come up with the Right plan. But there will be a major bump in the road before that can happen. More soon.

daw the minstrel · 9 May 2004 · Chapter 50

I am really, really glad that everyone who matters believes Legolas. But Legolas must be close to depair.

Author's reply

It is good that others now know what is going on, because Legolas is starting to drown in despair after Mordraug's demonstration of power over him using the flowers.

Alina · 9 May 2004 · Chapter 50

Poor elf. I liked the way you used a simple (and relatively "mild") act of brutality to drive home the implications this whole situation may have for Legolas. You could have gone for something far more dramatic but the effect would have been less heartbreaking. Very well done! I hope that Aragorn will be able to offer some sort of assistance...if Legolas is still there when he reaches his room... Please update soon. Alina

Author's reply

Thank you very much. I was going for just that exact thing. The flowers Legolas loved so much weren't just brought in for that purpose. Since they had already been mentioned very early in the story, I thought it would be a good tie-in to this part. I also thought it would be more distressing to destroy them than for him jump Aragorn, for instance, and try to choke or beat up on him. Subtlety is often much more powerful. It was also something that could be done without others interfering, leaving Legolas alone in his misery.

P. S. from Eruanna · 6 May 2004 · Chapter 49

Oh no! I realized something terrible last night! As I read the end of this chapter, I was thinking, "He *has* to tell Elrond that Mordraug is going to make him kill his family; he *has* to tell him! Maybe they'll have to tie him to a chair or something, but he *has* to tell someone!" And I just realized: he can't. There is no way for him to tell anybody if Mordraug doesn't want him to. That's terrible; why'd you go and do *that*, White Wolf?!? ;-) The other thing is: words like "and", "but", and "then" usually don't need commas after them. Post soon!!!!

Author's reply

I can't really explain without spilling some of the beans. I think you will get all your answers in later chapters. I know the bit about the commas, but that was the way I learned and have just kept it up. I may or may not continue doing it, depending on whether I think I should keep up the continuity of my grammar. Thanks, though, for pointing that out. More soon.

Sivan · 6 May 2004 · Chapter 49

Great chapter. You are so cruel. Why? Why Legolas still suffers? I still love what I read, thank you!!! Keep up the PERFECT work that you are doing with your fic, it is wonderful and very tensed. Sivan

Author's reply

Me? Cruel? Never. We hurt the ones we love. The more we love them, the more we hurt them. You can you guess how much I love Legolas by what I do to him? Poor baby. Thank you. I try hard to write what I hope others will like. I'm happy you like this story.

*~SuGaR~* · 4 May 2004 · Chapter 49

O.O ...eep!!!! I don't know what else to say...ack! I can't sit back and just watch my elf go crazy?!?!?!?!? How in the world is Mordraug even still here?!?!?!?!?!? And how will the others do anything????? ACK!!!!!!! Hmmm...but Mordraug would be quite reluctant in killing Legolas or will Legolas try to kill himself?? Again with the self sacrifice! Can't wait to see how this unfolds!!!!!!!! POST SOON!!!! *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

It's true that Legolas is sinking further and further into Mordraug's clutches. I will answer your question about Mordraug's ability to inhabit Legolas's mind in a later chapter. Also, what the others will try to do will be forthcoming. More next week.

Eruanna · 4 May 2004 · Chapter 49

Yes, I'm back. Goodness, have I missed a lot! I feel really bad now... *sits next to Legolas and cries* That was so sad; I love it! The Mordraug guy is really keeping me guessing! Do *you* know where this is going? ;-) This story has been taking some dramatic twists and turns, but I never expected what happened in this chapter. The very horror of being forced to kill your own family...the thought is just sickening...and terribly frightful. My POOR X 9,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 BABY! I knew Mordraug was coming back, but it was saddening, all the same. I, personally, can't think of any way to get rid of the guy, but then I've never had a good head for plots. My idea of a story is to write a whole bunch of miniature Legolas angst stories with the intention of eventually stringing them together with a loose plot. ;-) There is good development here, the concern and helplessness is very effectively portrayed. Even now I'm running low on time...softball and piano have taken over my life...so I'll be here when I can, and I won't when I can't! (I took a logic course while I was gone; can't you tell?) ;-) Keep going!

Author's reply

Give Legolas a big hung. He's going to need it. And yes, I know exactly where this story is going. I have a couple of options regarding the ending, but I will decided when I get there. Mordraug is not a nice person, so it was easy to make him want to do something so horrible. I love the good guys, of course, but writing truly evil villains is fun, too. For that reason, I just *had* to bring him back. The ride from here on out will be a bumpy one, so hand on. Sounds perfectly logical to me. :o) I'm happy to have you whenever you can come by and read/review.

Lossenchristal · 4 May 2004 · Chapter 49

Oooh, I am getting the creeps! I hate Legolas being controled by Mordraug!:( I am glad that Aragorn told Elrond and the others, and I am still sure that they will come up with a way to save Legolas, but that last demonstration of Mordraug's power over Legolas gave me chills!:/ I guess all I can say is please update soon and get the worst over with!;) But you probably won't do it quickly will you?... You probably love seeing us poor readers squirm...;)Oooh, I don't know why I keep reading this story... well, maybe I do;) Because I can't stand not knowing what happens!!! Ok, enough of my ranting, Please update soon!:) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

I hated to have Legolas destroy his beloved flowers, but I thought that was a perfect way to demonstrate Mordraug's power and Legolas's inability to fight the command to do it. I'm glad I have you hooked on the story. That's one of my intentions. I love to write and having my work enjoyed by others is a thrill. Now that others know about Mordraug, it will remain to be seen what can be done, if anything. I will update early next week.

Sivan · 30 April 2004 · Chapter 48

I'm glad that Aragorn supports him and have a faith with him, when he was needed. I still love what I read, thank you. Keep up the PERFECT work that you are doing with your fic. Sivan

Author's reply

Don't worry. Aragorn will always support Legolas. But, will he know how to help his friend? Thank you. I'll keep going.

OakWolf · 29 April 2004 · Chapter 48

I don't mean to sound coarse but here I go:Oh my Gawd!Mordraug is a rat ass bastard! That felt good to vent,oy I'm sorry but this is getting tense,at least Legolas isnt carrying the burden alone...may a warg sit on you for your cliffhangers!*After you finnish this tale of course...

Author's reply

I don't mind what you said about Mordraug. I call him a badass, myself. I hope you don't mind too much tension. I have some intense plans ahead. Legolas will have help, but will it help? If you get my meaning. Gee, don't you like my cliffies? I do. :o)

*~SuGaR~* · 29 April 2004 · Chapter 48

sorry i missed the last chapter even after that long break, but i'll review the last chapter here too... I KNEW IT!!!! I KNEW IT!!!!! Just when everything is going so well and all the readers are so happy and cheerful, (except me, never ever letting my guard down, i'm on to you...*glares*)Mordruag comes back!!!!!!!! Wow Legolas admitting that he's going insane...I'm glad i didn't have to wait through that one... WAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Legolas has finally told Estel what's going on, but now nobody can do anything anyways, though they probably still will...but will them alwayz talking when Legolas isn't there make Mordraugs lies even more viable...eep!!! Poor Legolas, now he has to go through all of this all over again!!!!! You just can't leave him alone can you????????????????? POST SOON!!!! Can't wait to see what horrors you inflict on Legolas next...MY POOR ELF!!!!!!!!!!!!! *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

I don't think I fooled anyone.into believing that Mordraug was really gone. That would be too easy. I hope you like how I eventually deal with that evil elf. There'll be more stuff going on before that can happen, but I'm hoping that no one will see it coming. I know you don't want me to leave Legolas alone. Then, the story would be over. More soon, I promise.

sofia · 29 April 2004 · Chapter 48

intresting. I'm glad he's told someone. i like the last paragraph, how it says 'The elf almost let out a bitter laugh to think that if he truly became insane, he likely would not suffer. After all, wouldn’t he then think that having a voice in his head was perfectly normal?' I didnt think of it that way. But i would agree that it would be better.

Author's reply

I'm glad you found it interesting. Legolas just had to tell. I was thinking that someone who had gone insane wouldn't realize he was insane, and would think whatever was going on with him, in this case having a voice in his head, was the way things were supposed to be. The fact you disagree is perfectly fine with me. I don't expect everyone to agree with my all of my ideas. I appreciate your opinions. More soon.

Lossenchristal · 29 April 2004 · Chapter 48

Oooh, freaky! I am REALLY glad that he told Aragorn, but now we find out that Mordraug CAN still hurt Legolas!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!:( Oh well, I am still confident that Aragorn and the others will figure something out! Great chapter! Please update again soon!:) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

It was time for Legolas to tell someone, and of course, Aragorn was the perfect one to tell. Mordraug is truly evil and enjoys hurting Legolas, as well as using pain to keep our elf in line. Aragorn and the others will be working hard to come up with an answer. But, will they? :o) Thank you. More soon.

daw the minstrel · 29 April 2004 · Chapter 48

I'm glad Legolas told Aragorn what the matter was and very glad that Aragorn believed him. Mordraug certainly has Legolas in a difficult position.

Author's reply

Legolas could hold out only so long, before he had to tell. Mordraug is definitely 'twisting the screws' so to speak. The question is: Can something be done before Legolas's sanity is driven so far away he becomes lost?

Alina · 25 April 2004 · Chapter 47

Oh no, and there it was, things going well just for once! Poor Legolas, he never really gets a break, does he? (Other than of bone, that is.) At least he keeps talking to Aragorn, that is something, but if they don´t get rid of this evil quickly then I fear Legolas will be correct. This is and keeps being a great story. Thanks for sharing! Alina

Author's reply

That was cute about the only kind of break Legolas can get. Aragorn won't let up on Legolas this time I'm betting. (I'll have to check with the plot bunny to be sure.) :o) Thank you very much. I appreciate the complement.

OakWolf · 24 April 2004 · Chapter 47

It's finnaly come out-That has to be the finest words spoken by an elf "I'm going insane" Ah, nothing like elfy angst

Author's reply

Thank you. Elf angst aplenty still to come.

Lossenchristal · 24 April 2004 · Chapter 47

Ahhhh! He's back!!!!!! NOooooooo!:( Ok, so I knew he would be back, but it is still a disappointment;). I knew what was going to happen as soon as the tree wouldn't talk to Legolas!:( PLEASE PLEASE let Legolas tell Aragorn everything!!!!!! Thanks for updating! Please do so again soon!:) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

Of course, you knew Mordraug would be back. Aragorn is stubborn, too, and I don't think he will let Legolas stay silent for too long. Do you? The next chapter is coming soon.

Sivan · 24 April 2004 · Chapter 47

Another great chapter, let us hope that Estel will support him. I still love what I read, that is not a cliff, my friend. Keep up the PERFECT work that you are doing with your fic, and gave me your strongest cliff that you have. Sivan

Author's reply

Thank you. Don't worry, Estel will always support Legolas. The question is how can he help him. Me? Write a cliffie? You must have me confused with someone else. :o) More soon.

Jay of Lasgalen · 24 April 2004 · Chapter 47

Well, thank goodness he's finally admitted that something's wrong! Now, if he'd only tell Elrond about the voice, something could be done. It was a nice touch that the tree feared Legolas - what a shock that must have been. Jay

Author's reply

Hello, Jay. I've admired your work for a long time. I didn't even know you were reading my story. I'm very happy that you are. No matter how stubborn Legolas is, I don't think Estel would have taken no for an answer this time. Yes, Legolas was both shocked and broken hearted that the trees he loves so much exhibited fear of him.

daw the minstrel · 24 April 2004 · Chapter 47

How awful for Legolas! The trees fear him, although I suppose what they really fear is what possesses him.

Author's reply

For the trees to turn against a wood elf is definitely bad. He was looking to them for comfort, so you can imagine how broken hearted he is about it.

OakWolf · 21 April 2004 · Chapter 46

Yarg! I miss everything- I went on a 2 week sabbath and I come back and Mordraug's gone, phooey left behind again.Lovely installments by the way, thumbs up!

Author's reply

I hope you enjoyed your sabbath. I thoroughly enjoyed my vacation. So, you think Mordraug is gone, do you? Read on.

Alina · 15 April 2004 · Chapter 46

What a beautiful, light chapter for a change! I could really "see" Legolas´ eagerness to walk again - it was about time, too. Hope you are having a nice vacation - and will come back eager to write! Alina

Author's reply

Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked the chapter. I agree that it was abut time Legolas had a break. It just worked out that this is the chapter that you all will be left with while I'm gone. I leave tomorrow morning (Friday), btw. I plan on having a great time. See you soon.
