Why do all the reviewers side with Legolas? As much as I love this fic, I almost gave it up in disgust when Legolas was so obviously manipulating Rhinure. I should have known you wouldn't leave it like that, and that Rhinure was too tough and smart to put up with it forever. It's so rare that a fanfic addresses the (serious) issue of unequal power in a relationship. Your dialogue is spot on, and I love how all your characters have such distinct and unique personalities -- although I still think Rhinure is giving too much ground, and Legolas has consistently proved himself to be childish, spoiled, controlling, sexist, pig-headed, manipulative, and selfish. At least he's intriguing! Post soon :)

An update!!! A million thank you's!!! Argg, why is Rhinhure so difficult!!!! Then again she can't handle mushy stuff. She has to be the one who is in controle and not Legs. That's proberly one of the most interesting things in this story. How and when will she accept the feelings of love? Does she know what love is, anyway??? A couple a days ago I was thinking about this story (wondering when you'll have updated it). Where did you leave the she-elf that was 'chasing' after legs? I would LOVE to see her woo (.....forgot his name already...bad bad, Arendur??) the Kings guard!!!!!! That would be very intersting and funny. Is he married? Has he never been in luve with a wood elf? Or is he leaving a 'monks life'? Update soon, this story is one of my favourites!!

Oh my goodness! I feel like slapping them both myself! lol... There is so much miscommunication! I love how you can write both parties confusion without any confusion for the reader! I think I would confuse myself horribly, but you pull it off wonderfully... Even though I don't really like Cothion... I must say that I did feel bad for him. And yet another chalk up to miscommunication and misunderstandings. And two completely different cultures trying to work everything out (shakes head) Once again I applaud you for keeping everything, everyone and everyplace straight and in order! And hopefully another chapter soon?? :-D

I feel like slapping them all the time, though that is also due to too much stress. Sorry for passing it on through this crazy couple. :-D I see so many misunderstandings caused by people not listening that writing it was not as difficult as I thought. Not easy cause I still have to think through the responses and how they other person will hear it - but there is so much of it around us that RL provides many examples. I'm writing, I promise, but work is hell. I'm working 7 days a week but I will try to make it soon.

These two are certainly good at finding ways to misunderstand one another, but you do a nice job of showing why. They come from different cultures with different assumptions, so it's easy to misread one another. Poor Thranduil. He must be ready to smack them both, although I suppose Legolas is the only one he'd feel free to really push around. He's too busy engaging in political maneuvering around Rhinure.

Thank you for beta reading this for me and then reviewing as well. I really appreciate it. I sometimes channel my frustrations with the couple through Thranduil. Though, like me, he caused all this problem by making the offer in the first place. Poor Legolas (and Rhinure for she is not going to know what hit her). :-D

I was exited to see a confronation between Legolas and Cothian finally. I liked how you used the concept of 'choice' in this chapter. I'm hoping to see some highly emotional material between Legolas and Rhinure in the next chapters, no words, just pure connection, like what you did at the end of this chapter. That was very good. Keep it comming.

Wow... for me it was your best chapter so far. The action here was amazing, and so was beloved Thranduil. Finally someone who can read Rhinure. Legolas' reaction to his wife's choice also wounded me... poor thing! Thank you very much for the update!

You're welcome - I will try to be more prompt in updates. Otherwise my muse decides to go into hibernation. I'm glad you like the chapter - it was one of the most difficult for me to write. It didn't take too long to write but the actual planning for it has taken me a year. This is one of the major chapters which I had outlines for so long I was afraid it just would not pan out. Phew! One hurdle passed ... lot's more to go.

Thank you - I am flattered at your compliment. Fav fic - makes me feel very happy (and inspired - now only if I was not at work). Rhinure and Legolas will be happy - after a fashion - I promise, even if writing the reconciliation kills me in the process.

I know I already said it, but Thranduil rocks in this chapter. He is so complex, such a strategist when it come to his rule as well as people. But my heart broke for Legolas.... he must feel a pawn. Understanding the need makes the reality no less painful. I hope we see more of you around now!

Well Cothoin was just trying to be protective..Avari's are thick headend.... I do feel compassion towards Cothion thoug. I hope Rhinure goes easy on him, but I don't think that will happen...... It seems unfair the way The king made Rhinure choose, but it must be done. I can see the logic. But still, I can't help but feel sorry for Rhinure. Great chapter!!!!

Avari (and Cothion in particular) are definately thick-headed, though they would probably call it "standing by the truth" or something like that. Blindness comes in many forms. I am glad you feel sorry for Cothion - he is just trying to do what he thinks is right in his ham handed fashion. However, one should always think before jumping in - and in his case, think really hard. Poor Rhinure ... Thank you for reviewing. It means a lot to poor authors such as myself.

Compelling chapter, Fan! First, Thranduil rules in every conceivable way. He is just so perceptive and so in charge. I wouldn't want to be the one to cross him. Second, the fight had my heart pounding. Those two were out of control and ready to do damage. And you so such a good job of showing how they all misunderstand one another.

I however, was very afraid I would make the fight come across as unbelievable - the two being elves and "perfect” and all. coming from you the comment means all the more since you write conflict brilliantly. What a breathtaking chapter! Thranduil does need to talk with Legolas, who could definitely do with some insight concerning his wife... And I guess no one would like to be Cothion right now. Legolas and Rhinure deserve a break in Gondor and seeing her interact with people who are not Elves and for whom she is just an Elf and not an Avari will be interesting. Be quick in writing the next chapter! Can't wait to see how everything is going to work out. Prego

Thranduil is wonderful isn't he - my favourite elf hands down. I am writing the next chapter - it should be quick (relatively speaking ) though I am no longer on vacation. Will do my utmost not to make you all wait for long, my muse my die out otherwise, or go on strike.

It's so easy to see the misunderstanding and distrust on both sides and you just want to scream for them to understand! My goodness! But anyway.. Looking forward to the next chapter...

My God! Your back! Do you see how loyal we are?! Rhinure and Legolas are not talking, this is intense. I'm looking forward to some deep dialogue though when they are forced to spend time together in Gondor (and share only one room one presumes!). I was glad to see you revealed the source of Rhinure's animosity towards Eurante. And the part about her parents was extreamly interesting. This must really influence Rhinure's thoughts on having children. Please don't make us wait ANOTHER YEAR for the next update! haha! love it, love it all.

when I saw this update I realized that I had missed more than one chapter, so I've been spending the time since you've updated catching up. good good. I'm kinda tensely waiting for this confrontation between Rhinure and Legolas.... I also don't like Cothion much. He seems pushy to me, though I could be saying that because he's getting in the way of Rhinure and Legolas (who are both tricky little people!) Waiting for the next update.
