Please finish this story as its among the funniest I have ever read! Its wonderful and all the personalities! Erenion makes me think of dr Jekyll and Mr Hide- on one side the noble cunning king and the other a young man "helping" his hilarious friends in the matchmaking of Elrond and Celwbrian.Glorfindel is such a blonde oaf, I love him!Theyre so childish all the males😂Sometimes I ( maybe due to that english is not my native)language)get confused in the conversations and quick hints , black mail and secrets between the characters. But it doesnt matter, its all good.Elrond ! Just spit it out you fool! And Celebrian the same goeS for you! But if they did it wouldnt be any story would it!😂Write more😃

I roleplay at a site named Tol Eressea and I play as Celebrian there... And I have found much inspiration on how to "behave" like Celebrian through your story! From all the stories I've read, you are the one that translates her to a character best!!!
So PLEASE finish it??!! I know EVERYONE wants you to finish it!!!

Hi Dragon
It is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that you finish this story!!!!! Quite seriously, it is one of the best comedy fanfics I've read - and since my major is English I should at least know something about writing. Your style is fluid, simple and yet delightfully hilarious. Obviously a lot of effort has gone into this piece. I've been quite taken with the adventures and I'm especially impressed with how organic and natural you have been able to make the friendship between the three friends. So, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE continue...

· Chapter 33: A Gallant Rescue
Aha! His High Kingly-ness seems to have finally caught the right end of the dastardly plot or is it Galadriel's most cunning plan? Will Gil-Galad manage to protect himself from her wiles, will he end up skewered on his own banner wielded by an infuriated, jealous and tongue-tied herald or will he shish-kebob Glorfindel on Aiglos in sheer and utter frustration? Will Imladris ever recover and be the haven of peace it was before they all descended on it?
This tale is rapidly gaining the dizzy heights of the old silent movie farce The Keystone Cops and I think that so far Galadriel has to be the winner at keeping her head whilst everyone around her is losing what little wits and sanity they all had before Celebrian's arrival. In Glorfindel's case of course, the mighty reconstituted Elf Lord's habitual behaviour seems to go from the sublime to the ridiculous in mere seconds, with the unfortunate and hapless Haldir running a close second and the solid, constantly horrified, bemused and enraged figure of Celeborn bringing up the rear, probably with a very sharp sword.
Celebrian reminds me strongly of Penelope Pitstop in the Dastardly and Muttley cartoons and all we need is for Cirdan to turn up twirling his mustaches with a diamond twinkling in his teeth, a sniggering dog and the scene will be complete.
Dragon, you are a treasure. I haven't laughed so much at a fanfic since Bagenders. Your characterisations are gems, your descriptions are hilarious and I can only hope that eventually you will be a best selling novelist or award winning scriptwriter! The scene where Haldir launches himself at Elrond with Glorfindel hanging on his heels will live with me forever. I will not be able to watch either of the movies or read the part in the book about Haldir without visualising that now.
Happy birthday and many more.....and for Eru's sake do not stop writing!

Happy Belated Birthday! Thanks for this present :)
Oh, this was funny! So beautifully ludicrous- the description of Glorfindel's students, the vision of Haldir fleeing into the trees, Elrond's bumbling- what a hoot. And your Glorfindel may not be dignified, but what a fabulous character :)

Thank you for the birthday present, and happy birthday. I rarely laugh this hard at fanfics, but this is extraordinarily funny. And well-written, too. And you keep foreshadowing yet more wonderful episodes to come. I can't wait for the next chapter! Update soon!

Poor Elrond! He just can't catch a break.
And now Galadriel had the High King in her sights. If I were him, I'd think of a good reason to go home.

First things first, Happy birthday then! (stops to wipe eyes again) this is getting so out of control I can't wait for more! ;-)
Hope you are studying something related with movie scripts! you have such a sense of actually "showing" the situations, and picturing them as a nice flow of different threads graciously stumbling into catastrophe! It is a true treat to see these usually stern and overburdened characters behaving in such a reckless, absurd way!! They're all managing to make Celebrian look the most sensible and sophisticated elf available in ME! It is simply glorious! Wish your college leave would last quite a long time!!!!!
Gee.. I cannot comment on any scene, for I would be simply reposting your own chapter. Maybe that short line: "IN Imladris it was quite literally raining elves!" I can truly understand why Celebrian would so much enjoy it being there...
Galadriel's playing matchmaker and weighing the wealth and "trinkets" owned by the (wrong!) suitor is so funny! And I think our High highly king is beginning to understand that things can get a bit difficult for him too... I love how he manages to keep himself almost always regally out of danger...
great, dragon, go you!!

Thanks for the review and I've just updated. Celeborn does need to lighten up, and I'm sure that in time Galadriel will make him see that.

· Chapter 32: An Inky Assault
Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!
Absolutely wonderful once again. The Terrible Trio are just an accident looking for somewhere to happen and they're happening all over Imladris. Celebrian isn't really helping matters by innocently leading her frustrated, distraught father and speculative mother into thinking that it's Gil-Galad and not Elrond that she's developed an interest in. The portrayal of Galadriel as a secretly scheming mama, already counting up the pennies in the royal coffers and the jewellery in the vault, is utterly priceless. I always visualised her as a scheming lady with her eye on the main chance, while poor Celeborn struggles to keep up with her machinations. All he wants is to keep his delicate little flower in Lorien where he can keep an eagle eye on her and it must appear to him as though the whole world is working against him while he strives desperately to keep everything exactly the way he wants it to be.
As for our High Kingly King and the other two stooges, well, they're going to need a block and tackle to get out of the huge hole they're busy digging for themselves. They should be careful because I'm sure that Celeborn and Haldir would find the greatest amount of gleeful pleasure in shovelling soil over the top of them!
Celebrian is coming across as a real person, which is a huge achievement considering that she's only mentioned in passing in Tolkien's work. She's the wonderfully naive and silly, yet adorable ultimate dumb blond who makes dreadful decisions based on a whim and gets the wrong end of the stick all the time. What a lovely foil for the usually austere and elegant Elrond who, to his dismay, finds that where his heart, emotions and hormones are concerned, *everything* he says comes out in 'moron'!
Bravo...more....more.....
Author's reply
Thanks for such a lovely review! *g* And "The Terrible Trio" - what a perfect phrase. I think they just lead themselves into the holes that they did for each other.
The High Kingly King is being very gallant and is trying his best to save Elrond, it's just he finds certain things too amusing, and Glorfindel... if you gave Glorfindel a big red button saying "Do Not Push" he wouldn't be able to restrain himself. *g*
Thanks!

Ohhhhhh!! you're smart!!!!! :-o I did love the link among those stories.. Ereinion's Naneth coming to the Havens, and then Cirdan's housekeeper... still quite sad her story...I cannot help wondering how Ereinion could come up such a wise and happy adult, with such a childhood... I suposse the fall of the havens must have been another heavy loss for him.. since I guess by that time he had got used to being there...
This story is so full of hapiness and fun it is a nice contrast to the rest...so.. it is quite as well that you update in bunches for now I can see how the stories are related... Great job! I'm amazed that you manage to keep up with all your wonderful plots, but it is a pleasure to follow after! Keep on!!!;-)
Author's reply
Yay! Someone caught the link! And yes, I think it was a huge blow to Ereinion, especially when his father had just died and his mother had just joined him.
The bunchy updating is due to college terms, but it does work, sort of! :)

I just love watching this bunch of heroes stumble from chaos to disaster.
'Galadriel breezed over a glare that would have left her masculine counterparts quaking in their boots' Of course she would - there's tough, there's adamant and then there's Galadriel!
'“Kings…” Celeborn took a deep breath, “Who have all died singularly horrible deaths in facing foes who are beyond them. They have been hewn in two and beaten into the dust. Chopped, incinerated, spliced and diced!' What a succinct and accurate description of the fates of the princes of the Noldor! I'm not surprised he doesn't want them in his family. Although I'm interested to note that Galadriel wishes to exert a claim over a couple of heirlooms.
They will be relieved to accept Elrond in the end. Probably.
Author's reply
*giggle* Great description of Gladdy! And I'm sure Celeborn will manage to grit his teeth through the wedding, eventually. But he's his baby! Not anyone elses! His! :p

"He was tall, of good blood, and – she suspected – in sole charge of a couple of trinkets that would make a good addition to the heirlooms of the family. And if he should accidentally be slain before his time as was customary to those of his bloodline, it was only natural that they should pass to her."
I enjoyed every bit of this chapter, but this paragraph really cracked me up. I think it was the "as was customary" part that did it.
I also like the way misunderstanding is growing deeper and deeper.
Author's reply
*g* Thanks for the review! :) I think soon they'll all be so tangled up in misunderstanding that things will begin to make sense at last...
Perhaps.
In the meantime it's Gil-galad who will suffer, and being a High Kingly King he can take it!

I loved this chapter it had me crying with laughter. I didn't think it could get much better after the incidents with Haldir, and Gil-galad falling out the tree but this latest update was brilliant. I especially love the way Glorfindel seems so wary of Celeborn, and leaves it to Gil-galad to save the day, I can't wait to see what happens to Elrond, and what Celeborn will say to Celebrian.
Please write more,

Hello!
I'm glad you liked it! I always have fun writing it (and the associated Midwinter story that I'll post in a few days). Glorfindel would rather face Ceeborn than the Balrog, I believe!

I always enjoy the latest development in this story Dragon. I think more than anyone else you've captured Gil-Galad, Glorfindel and Elrond as the 'Terrible Trio'. I especially enjoy the way you combine Gil-Galad's High Kingly-ness and potential for mischief with Elrond's slightly more stuffy half-elven nature. Your Glorfindel is just a joy - the kind of gorgeous yet hapless male that all the women chase, but who constantly defies being dragged into anything as boring as a relationship. To me your story embodies that time. Too many of the stories around that era in Tolkien's world concentrate exclusively on the foul deeds and darkness growing around them and make the High King seem rather bowed down and full of gloom and despair, as I suppose many writers feel befitted his eventual fate. I love the depiction of Celeborn as the constantly horrified and enraged father who sees every male around as the potential de-flowerer of his baby girl and the resigned weariness of Galadriel as she tries to steer both her husband and daughter through the pitfalls they seem to provide for themselves without any help from anyone else!
Please keep it going, as long as you can anyway. It's delightful.

*grin* That comment made me giggle so much!
I like to write about the happy, everyday times in Tolkien's world. There is still so much goodness and joy about, even when evil deeds are happening. And I write to laugh and make others smile! (I always pictured them as a terrible trio too... ;))

Mind you, it is quite surprising that Elrond and Celebrian ever got as far as begetting the twins so that they could go through a painful adolescence.
Author's reply
*g* Indeed. A prolonged and painful courtship, in order to spawn brats that go through eighty years or so of turbulent adolescence. You wonder why people want to be elves, really.
