Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 24: "Go not to the Elves for counsel, for they will say both no and yes."
Oh, wonderful!

Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 24: "Go not to the Elves for counsel, for they will say both no and yes."
Oh, wonderful!
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 23: Ithilien, Part II
Lovely moment between Arwen and Faramir, and how Legolas led some of his folk to dwell in Ithilien and assist in its renewal.
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 22: The Test
A wonderful look at how the Ring might indeed work on Arwen.
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 21: The Very Dead of Winter
Ah, yes, so appropriate! And it did need to be 200 and not a single hundred in length.
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 20: Maturity
Wonderful look at Kingship through Eomer's eyes--or perhaps even Theoden's.
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 19: A Gift
A wonderful beginning for one who will be one day a knight of Gondor! Lovely!
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 18: Southland
Oh, love Ekiri. I had him called Horubininarin, Falcon of the Star. Lovely word picture.
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 17: Downfall
A moment of horror before the reunion. Glad they didn't die alone, and come together elsewhere.
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 16: Ithilien
Yes, our Ranger of Ithilien experiencing what will be his realm indeed one day. Very apt.
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 15: A Ranger's Life
Wonderful description of the Ranger's life. His reward certainly hasn't come in Bree to date, has it?
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 14: Gifts
Oh, so very well done. Yes, the gifts of the gardener are wonderful!
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 13: The Fourth Attempt
Cool descriptions. And thief number four proved a bit too wily for his blood to stain the chamber as well.
Larner · 13 July 2006 · Chapter 12: Dark Memory
I love seeing people's ideas of what Aragorn's first experience in Moria might have been like. Thanks. Having worked with blinded individuals for years, love the physical touch aiding to anchor Aragorn to his awareness of companionship.
Larner · 25 March 2006 · Chapter 49: Well begun is half done
Always a good beginning.
Larner · 25 March 2006 · Chapter 48: A Pledge of Good Will
A great tribute from each to each. Lovely.
Bodkin · 25 March 2006 · Chapter 49: Well begun is half done
A long apprenticeship - even to start!
Bodkin · 25 March 2006 · Chapter 48: A Pledge of Good Will
I can so see how something like this - a work of love as well as beauty - could show Legolas something that perhaps he had not understood before. I suspect his response might have been taken as insulting by Gimli, though. Or maybe not.
Author's reply
Thanks for the kind review, Bodkin. I was aiming for playful rivalry & banter (since that's what the drabble requester wanted); but I can see how it could be taken two ways!
Bodkin · 19 January 2006 · Chapter 47: Sibling rivalry
Love this. Faramir's knowledge - both of them wincing at the thought of the 'eunuch'! Such a typical male response. And Boromir's competitiveness - also a typical male response. Next it'll be best of nine and so on until he wins!
Bodkin · 19 January 2006 · Chapter 46: Mirkwood Autumn
This is lovely - so beautifully expressed. I just love this:- The thin sickle of autumn's last moon hangs ready to reap the year's turning.
mirthor · 19 January 2006 · Chapter 47: Sibling rivalry
I love these little everyday moments 'randomly' picked out in time. Thanks!
Larner · 17 January 2006 · Chapter 47: Sibling rivalry
So, apparently they are now tied? Interesting contest between the brothers.
Larner · 17 January 2006 · Chapter 46: Mirkwood Autumn
The watch on the Enemy's fortress isn't without compensations, obviously. Nice.
Larner · 17 January 2006 · Chapter 2: Posterity
A sweet way of breaking the news that an heir has been conceived.
Raksha The Demon · 26 August 2005 · Chapter 17: Downfall
Chilling and evocative. And so very sad. At least they perished together, holding each other until the last moment. There were probably hundreds, thousands of innocents who didn't get out; and this drabble brings them to life.
Raksha The Demon · 26 August 2005 · Chapter 45: Ithilien, Part III
Beautiful and bittersweet! Peace is wonderful, but it won't always be easy for those raised under siege. And I can see part of Faramir's heart always cherishing the quiet, wild beauty of Third Age Ithilien - hopefully there's still a few undomesticated corners left..
