Antane · 4 January 2012 · Chapter 19: Two Peregrins, and a Brandybuck in a Pantry

Cute! I like Pippin's namesake, his patience, very long fuse, understanding, and all that good stuff. Happy Yule! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Perry possibly has the longest fuse in the Shire, and he can certainly relate to feeling as though he must prove himself. He's a good example for Pippin. :) Thanks for reading, dear! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Larner · 2 January 2012 · Chapter 19: Two Peregrins, and a Brandybuck in a Pantry

And history threatens to repeat itself, apparently! Delightful, and I'm rather glad that Amber decided she didn't want the sheep involved after all. Poor sheep! Love Perry's inclusion, of course. How wonderful a Hobbit he proved to be! Ami had perfect instincts!

Author's reply

Pippin did turn out to be very much like his Uncle Perry after all. Heather is quite sensible for a Took - she'd realize that anything given to the sheep probably wouldn't make it down the aisle! :P Don't feel sorry for the sheep. I'm sure they're happy to just sleep in their pen all day. :D Perry is finding life among the Tooks to be quite eventful. I don't doubt that he's enjoying the visit immensely, and everyone now is able to see for themselves how worthy Perry is. Thanks for reading!

harrowcat · 1 January 2012 · Chapter 1: Scouring for Mushrooms

You paint a vivid picture. I found myself holding my breath that they reached the treasure trove. Clever to whistle for dogs.

Author's reply

Oh yes, Merry would know about the dogs, wouldn't he, with Frodo as his teacher. ;) Thanks for reading!

Andrea · 1 January 2012 · Chapter 19: Two Peregrins, and a Brandybuck in a Pantry

LOL!!! That was a funny story! I enjoyed it a great deal! It was nice to see Ami and Perry involved and Frodo got to rescue his Merry again. And best of all: the sheep :-) Thank you very much and happy New Year!

Author's reply

Thank you so much, Andrea! I'm glad you got a laugh out of this! Ami and Perry are finding life in Tookland to be exciting as ever. ;) Frodo arrives just in time to save the day. Sheep should be mandatory at every New Year's celebration. :D Happy New Year to you!

6336 · 4 October 2010 · Chapter 10: Pippin the Bullroarer

Aw, Pippen, ya gotta' love him! Lynda

Author's reply

He's the dearest thing, isn't he? Glad you enjoyed this!

6336 · 1 October 2010 · Chapter 7: Chocolate!

Oh, Sweet Eru! Pippen on chocolate is almost as bad as a Balrog on steroids! Lynda

Author's reply

Hehehe! I think the Balrog would run away. Too bad Gandalf didn't think of that strategy. :P Pippin is bad enough even without the sugar rush. I think Bilbo will be finding harder to open jars for Pippin's next visit. Thanks for reading!

Grey Wonderer · 27 August 2010 · Chapter 18: A Short Story About Quills

LOL I thought Pervinca was up to something the entire time but then, all she really did was watch. Clever lass.

Author's reply

Pervinca knows when to simply stand back and watch the mayhem unfold, and when to give it a little nudge. There was no need for her helping hand in this instance! lol! Glad you got a laugh from this!

Larner · 31 July 2010 · Chapter 18: A Short Story About Quills

Poor Frodo--experiencing again the excesses of enthusiasm to which his younger cousin is prone! And perhaps a few extra chores will help inspire some temperance on the part of Pippin! Heh!

Author's reply

Frodo should be resting easier tonight, now that his new "friend" is free. :) And I'm quite sure those two will find trouble while doing their chores, too! Thanks for reading.

Dreamflower · 29 July 2010 · Chapter 18: A Short Story About Quills

Oh my word! Poor Frodo! Of course, Pippin meant well. He almost always *means* well. And I am quite sure that he thought Frodo should have a pet to keep him company. But still, poor Frodo! *snicker*snerk*giggle* Loved Frodo throwing Eglantine's robe over it-- I'm certainly glad she was wearing a nightie, or everyone would have been in WORSE trouble! *chortle*

Author's reply

Yes, poor Frodo. I'm certain he would't mind a pet if it were the right sort of pet... like a bullfrog, for instance. ;) Pippin was only thinking of his cousin's welfare, all alone in that big empty smial. I'm sure they're *all* glad that Eglantine was still wearing her nightgown! What a riot that would have been! Thanks for reading! Glad this gave you a laugh!

shirebound · 29 July 2010 · Chapter 18: A Short Story About Quills

LOL, Pervinca's life is anything but dull, and she's enjoying it immensely. This was a fun story.

Author's reply

She certainly is! And she has the good sense to stay well away from the commotion. ;D Thanks for reading!

Larner · 3 July 2009 · Chapter 17: The Whole Truth and Nothing Butt

Yes, it was the literal, if not the WHOLE, NAKED truth! Heh! Ah, love the naked Hobbit stories!

Author's reply

There should be a Nekkid Hobbit month. It would be a good thing. ;D Pippin certainly did twist the truth here, but never actually lied. Good thing his parents have a good sense of humor. They're going to need it! :P Thanks for reading!

polissak · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 17: The Whole Truth and Nothing Butt

haha i love it! It's not very often I read something isn't sam-centric, so this was a real treat!

Author's reply

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this, even though it's not your usual. If you're interested, I have a whole series centered around the Gamgee family in "Number Three, Bagshot Row". Thanks for reading!

Andrea · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 17: The Whole Truth and Nothing Butt

That was funny! “We won’t be bored, at least,” Eglantine said, wiping tears from her eyes. Or in other words: Always look on the bright side of life ;-) And we should not forget that Pippin never lied to his parents! Clever lads. I'm impressed!

Author's reply

In other words: Pick your battles, lest they pick you! LOL! Paladin is right - Pippin will be punished for this plenty later once he reaches his tweens and beyond. :P Pippin could never lie to his parents. Good thing Merry thought up ways around that, and Pippin was able to stall for questions he could answer half-truthfully. Thanks for reading, dear!

Kaylee Arafinwiel · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 17: The Whole Truth and Nothing Butt

Oh, wonderful GF! I'm sure Dreamflower loved this, I certainly did! Pip-logic is so fun to read. *grins* I wonder how they'll catch Merry and make him tell...Sequel? Kaylee!

Author's reply

Pippin apparently got a lot of his logic from Merry! LOL! But Merry is half Took. ;) I'm sure Merry will weasel his way out of it just as Pippin did, if his parents could even stop laughing long enough to lecture him! Thanks for reading!

Dreamflower · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 17: The Whole Truth and Nothing Butt

Oh that devious Brandybuck! *cackles*howls*wipes eyes* What a treat for my birthday--thank you so much dear! “Peregrin, stop evading the question. Did Merry tell you to run onto the stage naked?” Eglantine asked. “No,” Pippin said. What Merry had was that it would be very funny if Pippin streaked onto the stage. He had never once used the word ‘naked.’ Oh golly Moses! *snort*giggle* “He had to hide from this older lass with grabby hands,” Pippin said. Merry had taken Opal Stonebow’s pink ribbon and she had tried to grab it back. Opal was in her tweens, which made her much older than Merry. When Pippin had asked why the lass had to be older, Merry only said that it was a good excuse, much better than if the lass had been younger, though he refused to explain why. *sporfle* You do know you should have posted a beverage warning with this! *cackles again* Thank you so much for this lovely birthday mathom! ((((((hugs)))))) *goes back to read and giggle again*

Author's reply

Merry is a little conniver, even at this age, and he's teaching Pippin all the tricks, even if he's not explaining them all! :D (((HUGS))) I'm glad you enjoyed your mathom, dear!

shirebound · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 17: The Whole Truth and Nothing Butt

“We won’t be bored, at least” And neither will we! Ahhh, Pip-logic. There's nothing quite like it. What fun. :)

Author's reply

Pippin will certainly be an entertaining lad to raise! ;) I think we discover where Pippin got his logic from! Merry is showing his own flare for Tookish thinking. :D Thanks for reading!

harrowcat · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 17: The Whole Truth and Nothing Butt

This is hilarious GF. I love how Paladin and Eglantine are not too upset about the prank. Happy Birthday Dreamflower!

Author's reply

I can just imagine their horror during the actual event, once the fact registered that they were seeing what they thought they were seeing! They took it in stride though. :) Thanks for reading!

Grey Wonderer · 1 July 2009 · Chapter 17: The Whole Truth and Nothing Butt

You've given me a laugh to start the day. I'm certain Dreamflower will love this one. Oh, and the title is inspired.

Author's reply

The title just came to me in the end. ;) Glad you got a laugh out of this one. Pippin was very much insipired by your own delightful stories. :D

Larner · 26 January 2009 · Chapter 16: Cheeky Took

Cute--and the title is MOST appropriate! Heh!

Author's reply

Thank you! I believe it was shortly after this that the term "Cheeky Took" was coined in the Shire to describe over-the-top shenanigans. Pippin though has always denied this. ;)

Grey Wonderer · 25 January 2009 · Chapter 16: Cheeky Took

Now that's the way to receive an award! hehehe

Author's reply

Thankfully, this didn't become the norm for receiving an award - though the movie stars could learn a thing or two from Merry and Pippin. Would really liven up the Oscars! :P

Lindelea · 24 January 2009 · Chapter 16: Cheeky Took

Oh, my! Now I'm going to have to go and read "In a Flash"!

Author's reply

Merry is a rascal, but he had training. Pippin, dear thing, will do anything for his Merry. :)

Dreamflower · 24 January 2009 · Chapter 16: Cheeky Took

Oh--wicked, wicked Merry! At least Frodo only embarrassed him in front of all Buckland! Poor Pippin is being embarrassed in front of the entire Shire! *grin* OH, he's in sooooo much trouble. LOL!

Author's reply

They'll be talking about this for 90 days! The embarrassment will come later, once he's old enough to be horrified every time the story is recounted. Once their parents stop laughing, I'm sure they'll cook up some adequate punishment for Merry. ;D

shirebound · 24 January 2009 · Chapter 16: Cheeky Took

Oh, those rascals! How I love them.

Author's reply

Nothing but trouble, those two! Pippin will be hearing about this for years!

mews1945 · 27 April 2008 · Chapter 15: The Five Rules of Cooking

This is utterly charming, and so much fun to read.

Author's reply

Thank you Mews! I'm glad you enjoyed the tale. :D

SlightlyTookish · 27 April 2008 · Chapter 15: The Five Rules of Cooking

Eee, this is adorable! This is such a loving and cousin-y story. Your Pippin is the sweetest thing. I just loved this bit: Pippin saw them first. He jumped up with a yelp and dashed over to hug Merry around the shins, already talking a mile a minute. “I can’t believe we get to be in one of the contests! I can’t wait to get started, I went through everything I already know about cooking last night: don’t stand too close to the fire, don’t eat things right off the skillet, never mix peanut butter into the eggs, don’t leave the apple juice too close to the fire because it will grow fur—”

Author's reply

You just gotta love Pippin, even when he's flinging chicken fat and dumping flour all over the place. And to think Eglantine doesn't want him in the kitchen just yet. *baffled* :P Thanks for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed the story!
