Shirebound...you have written this so masterfully that, do you know what I found myself thinking? "It must have been so hard for Aragorn watching Frodo suffer under the Ring's dreadful weight and when he was stabbed and all, after having gotten to know him and come to love him and..." - hehe! Then, I remembered this was AU. But, oh how I love to believe it really happened like this! How wonderful it would have been for all of them involved. Such a sweet relationship. There were so many moments in this chapter that I just found so yummy I had to go back and re-read them. I loved the description of Aragorn watching Pippen carefully eating (so as not to miss a bite!). Frodo putting Pip down for a nap...awww!! I could almost hear their quiet hushed voices as they lay on Frodo's bed talking drowsily. The conversation Frodo overheard made my heart swell and soar! Bless his heart! How good you are to him to let him finally hear some GOOD things about himself. Such a darling, he is! I can't wait for the camping trip! I'm so happy you are taking us all along for the trip as well! I LOVE camping! Thank you for more Frodo, Bilbo, Aragorn, Scamp and now TODDLER!Pip sweetness!! Blessings! cp

Hehehe, cheeky Ranger! I just love this story! A nice way to start the day. :D

Lovely, just lovely. It was adorable to see Pippin wanting to protect Scamp from Aragorn, not realizing that it was just a game. But my favorite part was when Frodo overheard Bilbo and Aragorn's conversation about him, and how that contrasted with other things he heard people say at Brandy Hall - very poignant. I'm looking forward to more :)

Wow, this is great!!! I'm loving this return to the Quarantined-verse!!!! I was so excited when I saw it! Your universe is unique, and a visit is always delightful. I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter. Wonderful job.

aww aww aww aww *melts* So much fluff I could make a pile and sleep forever in its fuzzy comfort. Which is a nice change from Aragorn!angst, which I do love, but the fluff content is wonderful too ;) Can't wait to read more! I love your work

Delightful, nice to see another side to the Hobbits and a carefree Aragorn .

great chapter, Estel got to Bilbo's just in time to have a party, or a camping trip. loved how Bilbo has removed everything that the child can get his hands on, and some things he is way to short to reach.

Breon Briarwood · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

squee! *bounces on toes* more fluff, more fluff, more fluff! :D

Auntiemeesh · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

I love seeing wee!Pippin described through Aragorn's eyes. His difficulty with the Took accent is great! “Frodo,” Aragorn asked softly, “are you certain that this child is speaking the Common Tongue?” You do have to wonder sometimes, lol. Ah, hobbit fluff. Could there be a better thing? Well, besides hobbit angst, hobbit h/c, etc.

Ooooh...puppy. Baby Took. Little hobbits. Birthdays. What more could anyone ask? Jeodo

Oh, this was lovely and fluffy, exactly what I needed after a hard day at school, lol! ;-) I do so love Pippin and Estel's reaction to each other!

FluffFluffFluff! I love it! As always, I adore your characterizations and am very much looking forward to whatever mischief Pip and Frodo and Estel and Sam will inevitably be getting into;-). Hee, you've put a big ol' grin on my face, thank you! And Scamp is a very well-behaved puppy, amazing.

Just discovered this story today - what a delight! I loved this: “`Pip’ sounds harmless enough,” the Ranger smiled. “Don’t believe it for a second,” Frodo sighed dramatically. And this: Frodo,” Aragorn asked softly, “are you certain that this child is speaking the Common Tongue?” “It takes some getting used to, doesn’t it?” Frodo asked with a grin. I just laughed out loud! This is just wonderful, and I'm looking forward to reading more :)

Estel on his stomach amidst all those toys with Pip exploring his beard - SO CUTE!

RogerGamgee · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

This story has so much fluff it's like cotton candy! I adored how Pippin seemed so fascinated by Aragorn's beard...not surprising, since it's the one facial feature you never see on a hobbit (and I'd love to know why that is - must be something genetic, like the foot hair). Good to see Bilbo taking the initiative to child proof the smial...knowing Pippin, there's no telling what he could get into if he wanted to. Keep up the great work on this story!

Mysterious Jedi · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

Cute, cute cute. I'm sure small hobbits and puppy will find some way to get into some sort of mischief, even if they're just at The Water.

melilot hill · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

Great chapter! I could do with some fluff today :)

girlofring · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

fluff, fluff, fluff, and cute to boot!

Sandy K · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

Wonderful as always! Your wee!Pippin is soo cute! And I just love this line: *“Frodo,” Aragorn asked softly, “are you certain that this child is speaking the Common Tongue?”* Priceless!

esamen · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

Frodo lay fast asleep, lying in one of the tree’s somewhat hollowed-out branches. A book lay on his chest, and one arm dangled limply from the branch. From where Sam now sat, Frodo lay at eye level, just a foot away. Ah, a tender Frodo moment . . . I just love my hero asleep in a tree! Fluff on, shirebound . . . I just love the "Quarantined" universe; I'd like to live in it every day if I could. When I read your Q-fics, I'm there . . . thanks. More, please! Esamen

lovethosehobbits · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

Such a great fic!! I don't think you have ever written one that I didn't thouroughly enjoy, and this one is so darn cute. I am truly looking forward to some more fun to come. Love and Hugs tree

cpsings4him · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

This chapter is even better than I had anticipated it would be (from your hint int the last chapter that Aragorn would be giving us a description of Pip!). I love the continuity you have given these stories with all the small details such as Frodo always being asleep when Aragorn arrives (your description of him sleeping in the tree with the book draped across him and one arm hanging loosely made me very badly want to draw it! But I still haven't completed the 'Quarantined' drawing I started ages ago! Your stories just have a way of making me want to create!). Aragorn's description of Pip was priceless...he could put him in one of his boots and still have room to spare...and you mentioned his Tookish accent! Heehe! And Scamp certainly seems glad to see Estel again. I can't wait to see what adventures ensue for this decidedly rowdy group of friends! Thank you for another great chapter! By the way, Baby Fwo is enjoying this story as well...now he wants a puppy to go with the kitty! ;-)

fadagaski · 26 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Getting Acquainted

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with too cute. LOTR has the tendency to invite angst and woe (though perhaps not as much as HPdom), so really, a little fluff is welcome! Besides which, I absolutely adore the idea of this miss-matched family finding a little peace before all Hell breaks loose. It's beautiful. Don't ever stop!
