Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 16: A Raft of Letters

Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky...*grin* Yes, somehow, I think Estella's husband will find time to go with her...

Author's reply

Ain't it fun? (You don't know what a pick-me-up your reviews were this evening!)

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 15: Halting Steps

And good for Reginard!! He's such a good solid friend, and a more than capable Steward--but he *really* does not want to be Thain. Love to see him compare notes with the *other* Faramir. I wonder is a Thain harder to handle than a King?

Author's reply

Ooo, Regi comparing notes with the *other* Faramir, that has real potential! Wonder why I never thought of it?

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 14: Tremors

Poor Merry! This has got to have been the hardest lesson for him to learn, that he cannot go to his Pippin's side without doing more harm than good. Don't you know it's got to eat him up with worry...

Author's reply

Oh I know. I feel the same way when one of the little ones falls flat. But I've learned to come when I'm asked...

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 13: Naming Day

I recall how impressed I was with this lovely tradition you came up with for hobbits. It's so very sweet, and so hobbity as well. And Pip's right. It *is* the perfect name!

Author's reply

It is fun to think up traditions, isn't it? Especially with the challenge to make them fit the people who'd be celebrating them! Thanks!

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 12: Whispers

Good for Sandy! I had forgotten about that painting. It sounds so lovely. Where do you suppose they hung it?

Author's reply

I think that painting must have gone to the Thain's study, where Pippin could look at it often. Thanks!

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 9: Consultation

Poor Pip! Oh, yes, a month in bed would be *awful* for our hyper Took! And of course, if I'm remembering this story correctly things are just going to go from bad to worse...

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 8: Playing the Part

OOOoooohhh...sneaky healers! Aragorn could take lessons from these hobbits!

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 7: Morning After

Oh, yes, I remember now. The leg. I love a hungover Pippin. *chuckle* And your Diamond is wonderful.

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 4: Campfire Tales

*chortle* Obviously Faramir has paid a good deal of attention to his father's tales of the Quest. I could *so* see this one happening...

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 2: Special Delivery

I love this little exchange: 'How many babes have you delivered, then?' she demanded. 'Well, none from under a coach, mind...' he prevaricated. So hobbity and so very *Pippin*! I've just been summarizing the "Houses of Healing" chapter, and Merry's words about "light words" in serious situations are fresh in my mind. I love how competent little Faramir is--such a dear lad.

Dreamflower · 20 January 2005 · Chapter 1: The Problem

Well, after all the reminders, I decided to start this one over at the beginning and read it all the way through again, instead of just trying to pick out the relevant chapters as they are referenced. I immediately remembered this opening... Pippin *does* have a point about his luck. He doesn't realize his luck is dependent on some author's muse... If he only knew...(sly grin)

FantasyFan · 2 March 2004 · Chapter 96: Epilogue

I bawled my eyes out the first time I read this story, and wouldn't you know that even when I knew what was going to happen, I still ended up crying with Sam when he read the King's contract, and at the Epilogue. It's very moving writing - thank you so much for sharing your talents with us all.

Author's reply

*hugs* Up late, unable to sleep, and so whiling away the time reading old chapters and answering old reviews. Thank you so much for all the food for thought you've provided all along.

Miriel · 11 September 2003 · Chapter 96: Epilogue

Finished! Yay! I loved it, especially the way you managed to bring all of the characters (men, elves, dwarves) together. Frodo paid the debt...needless to say I cried when I read that. Lovely, truly lovely. And I like the story's title. It fits. I look forward to seeing your other works! Miriel

Miriel · 10 September 2003 · Chapter 61: Dark Days

Oh no! The poor Shire.... This chapter is in all bold as well...I demand a salary for all of this help. I demand to be paid as much as the Thain! (Or at the very least, as much as his chancellor)

Author's reply

Thanks for the latest correction! As much as the Thain, eh? I think we might be able to swing that...

Miriel · 10 September 2003 · Chapter 60: Red Arrow for the Riddermark

Oh, how cool is this! I can hardly wait to read of Eomer, Eowyn, and Faramir visiting the Shire. (And when Faramir meets his namesake!)

Miriel · 10 September 2003 · Chapter 59: To Sleep, Perchance

I certacinly hope that they can convince Merry to stay in bed... This sentence made little sense to me: (/must needs/?) 'Don't I know it?' Pippin answered. 'I /must needs/ return to Tuckborough tomorrow. But I expect you to stay abed even without me sitting upon you.' He picked up a covered cup from the table by the bed. 'Here, Healer Robin left this for you. He said it would help you to sleep without dreaming.' Surely you didn't mean for the setence to be that garbled. While not a large error, I thought you might want to know. (I, for one, like my stories perfect.:)

Author's reply

"must needs" is actually an archaic construction which you might find in materials written in the 1800s. Just substitute "need to" when you see it. So "I must needs return to Tuckborough" actually means, in modern-day language, "I need to return to Tuckborough" Sorry if it was a stumbling block to you; at times I wax too flowery, I fear.

Miriel · 10 September 2003 · Chapter 56: Ruffled Feathers

I do hope that Estella's baby comes alright...and I'm glad to see Merry's finally getting some rest. Also, this entire chapter is in bold print. (I'll just read all your stuff for you and point out any problems! Sound good to you? ;)

Author's reply

Thanks so much for catching that! I am grateful for your help. I remain, your humble servant, Lindelea

miriel · 10 September 2003 · Chapter 51: In Dreams

I really liked this chapter. Sometimes dreams can be written, well, oddly. (Or badly) But this was very well done. Congrats.

Miriel · 8 September 2003 · Chapter 5: More Guests Arrive at the Party

Magnificent so far. I just wanted to point out that at the bottom of this chapter, it says : "you can paste your text in straight from your own text editor..." I don't think that you intended that to be there. Love the children!

Author's reply

Thank you so much for pointing this out, Miriel! I trust it is now fixed (since it is quite late I can hardly see straight, but will check again on the morrow to make sure). And thanks for the review!

Sue · 18 August 2003 · Chapter 96: Epilogue

I have just finished reading the whole story and just loved it. I am slowly making my way through all your stories and enjoying them so much. Author Reply: Thanks for reviewing, Sue. I am glad you are enjoying the stories, and hope to keep uploading new ones as long as they will keep writing themselves. I appreciate the encouragment!
