· Chapter 1: A Partridge in a Pear Tree
I wonder if Merry ever thinks to himself, 'Why am I always risking my safety with Pippin? Have I no sensible friends of my own age with whom I can drink and ogle the lasses?'
On the other hand, think what he would have missed!
Author's reply
LOL Merry did have his hands full didn't he? Cheer up. He does get to drink a bit in one of these stories. At least, I did let him be openly hostile about the entire mess. I do think he must have gotten angry from time to time.

· Chapter 3: Three French Hens
Ah, oui, je l'aime. :) Truly, I do like it.
These little snippets are so fun. Your dialogue between the cousins is great and so in character.
Author's reply
Thank you! Your French is so much better than mine. LOL I enjoy a bit of teasing between those three. Glad that you enjoyed it!

· Chapter 3: Three French Hens
Laughing...
I love the wit flashing between the cousins.
“Is he awake yet?” Frodo asked as he stuck his head into the room.
“Mostly,” Pippin smiled. “Enough to tell me that I’m talking too much.”
“Yes, well, you always do,” Frodo said
and the bit about "When did I become your servant?"
Author's reply
I had fun with this one. My hobbits are slightly smart-mouthed at times. I wonder why? I don't think it's me, but maybe. LOL

· Chapter 2: Two Turtle Doves
“I wondered about that at the time,”
Yes, we often do.
Frodo was unable to say more at that moment because he could now imagine two small, green, winged turtles flying about the garden and frightening the life out of Gaffer Gamgee and he found himself over-come with laughter.
I am laughing too!
I think I get it now. The first story was "Partridge in a Pear Tree" and this is "Two Turtle Doves". Can't wait to see what you make of "Four Calling Birds", much less the "Three French Hens" and so much more to anticipate!
Author's reply
Look out for the hens. That one was rather unusual. Glad you liked the turtle doves. I think it would be most amusing to see turtles flying around the Gaffer's well-tended garden. Glad you agree.

· Chapter 1: A Partridge in a Pear Tree
Goodness. Reminds me of the old joke, "If the Foo sh--s, wear it!"
Author's reply
Yes, this one was stretching it a bit. "a pair of trees" for "pear tree". I did have to get inventive to make these fit the song. I too, remember that joke and your comment gave me a good laugh!

· Chapter 0: A word or two about this and that.
Thanks for writing it! (Won't call it "nonsense" as you did though. I do like to read your stories.)
Author's reply
Thank you very much. These were written one right after the next in order to get 12 of them in a row and so, some are stranger than others and a bit of nonsense may turn up as you read. LOL Thank you for the review of the prologue. Even if no one else is reading it, I can count on you to read it. I look forward to your opening remarks about my opening remarks.

Author's reply
I bet your dog is hiding right about now. LOL Thank you for reading this one. I could see the trutles flying, but then, that is the way my mind works.
