These two are keepers, Shirebound, especially the second. Yes, Frodo feeling he is the Sword that has been broken, needing a different reforging....
Author's reply
Thank you so much. It was an interesting analogy to explore, even briefly.

Thanks Shirebound - I just love hobbit hugs. I know its cheeky to review twice but I wanted another read (and while working too)! Can I please second Esamen's request for a ficlet from the Quarantined universe. I know, I know, RL has to happen too. *Imagines self with Pippin's big pleading, soulful eyes*!
Author's reply
Two reviews is a wonderful compliment! (Hopefully RL will someday see how important it is to be able to write about hobbits whenever we get the urge.)

· Chapter 5: Healing Hands
“Good morning, Frodo,” Aragorn said softly, smiling with joy and relief.
Oh . . . I'm sighing my own sigh of joy and relief. What a lovely moment to read about. I really, really love Aragorn's special relationship with Frodo.
I have a little request . . . even though I don't do LiveJournal (I have to keep myself on a strict reading-writing schedule so I only indulge in SoA).
I treasure the special Aragorn-Frodo relationship of "Quarantined." You mentioned that in this AU, Gandalf had plenty of time between Rivendell and Moria to magically curtail Aragorn's and Frodo's memories of the relationship, so that Aragorn could bear to let Frodo go to Mordor.
Would you do a little ficlet with Aragorn and Frodo, and maybe some Sam or others thrown in, showing that relationship on the road sometime after Rivendell but before Gandalf curtails the memories?
That would be so delightful, like visiting a favorite place.
Thanks for considering it, and I can't wait for the next chapter of Force of Nature!
Hugs,
esamen
Author's reply
Thanks, Esamen. Actually, I've been dying to try an "on the quest" fic from the "Quarantined" universe (maybe even something in Moria). Problem is, I only have time to write one story at a time, these days -- so a lot of things I'd like to write about are on hold. But if I can think of a 'ficlet', I'll certainly let you know about it!

:::giggles:: Oh please, don't stop. I love a good footrub and Aragorn... ok, stopping right there before I slide into some gutter somewhere! :O lol
What a wonderful way to wake up. ;)
"I'm the sword that was broken..." how incredibly PROFOUND SB. Wow. That really touched me. And I loved the fact that Arwen and Aragorn thought of Frodo sailing... nice touch.

These are beautiful. I just *love* Aragorn in healer mode, taking care of hobbits. Just so lovely and peaceful!
Author's reply
Thanks, Dreamflower. I do love Aragorn-healer and hobbits-being-healed (and also the other way around!).

Yes, the gentle yet fierce love of Hobbits for one another.
Love how Boromir also feels bound to honor the protection they offer Frodo.
Author's reply
Thank you. I don't remember reading, in the books, that Boromir actually swore any oath to Frodo (as he did in the movie), but on that long journey south, he did everything he could to defend Frodo and the Fellowship.

:O Oh! I LOVE BOROMIR! I love this one the best, I think! I love it when big strong men are gentle and loving. : ) ::sigh:: Now I see where Faramir gets it from. :D
Author's reply
Thanks, Dayna! I've loved writing strong/gentle/noble Boromir ever since "Avalanche". The Fellowship travelled a long way together, and I'm sure they all did what they could for one another.

I really like how you did that, Shirebound. I love seeing Bilbo/Frodo interaction, with a side of Gandalf! LOL! :)
very sweet.
Author's reply
Thank you! I had such a wonderful time writing "Quarantined" (with Bilbo, Gandalf, and Aragorn as caregivers) that I had to revisit the idea. Gandalf does love 'his' hobbits so much, but rarely shows it outwardly.

Hello shirebound! As always, I am transported by your wonderful world of hobbits and valiant Men. I just love shirebound-land.
I love this ficlet, but I have a question: why is it movie-verse?
I am puzzled . . .
Love and hugs, esamen
Author's reply
I thought I'd better label it "movie verse" because, in the book, Frodo wasn't "still recovering" from the Morgul wound when the Fellowship started south. His stay in Rivendell had done wonders for him (and for all the hobbits). As I recall, he didn't feel any discomfort in his shoulder again until they well down the Anduin.
Thank you very much for reading.

Aw - all these are great Shirebound. A heap of hobbits but not random! I just want to be in the middle! And you had my mouth watering at the thought of bananas. I am diabetic and I find that they send my sugar levels far too high so they are now a rare treat in any shape or form.
Author's reply
Thanks, harrowcat. Who could resist a 'heap of hobbits'? (And perhaps you'll donate your spare bananas to Frodo? Apparently he's quite taken with them.)

Awww...These are all lovely, but this one is adorable. I bet if I made some of *my* banana bread, Frodo wouldn't have resisted it. Then again, Pippin would have made off w/the loaf. Of that I'm certain. :oD
Can't wait to read more!!
Author's reply
Thanks, Tigger! Yes, I doubt the hobbits could resist yummy banana bread.
*runs off to make them some*

“I’ll try to endure it,” Frodo said, his mouth full. He looked around. “Did you only bring one?”
LOL! Stubborn as can be indeed, but his own words betray him ;-)
Nice little story! Thank you, Shirebound.
Author's reply
Thanks, Andrea! Frodo and Aragorn are well-matched when it comes to strong-willed behavior. They both got what they wanted in this little scene.

*grins* The last two remarks from Frodo are sounding very typical hobbitish - I think Aragorn has found *the*diet for Frodo!
Loving bananas myself very much, I have enjoyed this!
Author's reply
Thanks, Kitty! I can actually imagine *any* of the hobbits speaking that last line. This was fun.

How about a banana split? hehehe
Cute piece, I like the stubborn streak there......he must have been an ornery little kid, what? LOLOL

The hobbits would *never* leave Gondor if they discovered banana splits there! What a fun idea.

Ah, yes, FAR more.
Lovely stories.
Author's reply
Thank you very much. Gandalf had so many years to think about the Shire... the Ring... Frodo and Bilbo... I'm sure he came to some very interesting conclusions, very early on.
That last one was hilarious! Trick mirror indeed!
I liked the thought of all the men almost coming to blows at the prospect of donating their clothes! I can imaging Eomer arriving just in time too.
Lovely images here.
Author's reply
Thank you, BB. That last one didn't start out to be humorous, but Frodo was being so stubborn, I just couldn't help myself!
