Nice to see her giving over her embarrassment like this. Poor lass.

My apologies, Larner--I just realized that I didn't reply to your review. I want to thank you for stopping by to read and take the time to comment. Have a wonderful week. :-) Pippinfan

Love the introduction between the two. Hilarious.

This is a cute, touching and sensitive tale. Your Pippin is perfect and I love Sapphira! I eagerly await more :)

Grey Wonderer · 22 May 2005 · Chapter 2: Calling a Truce

This was terrific. I love how Pippin teases her and I can't help but wonder exactly what those nephews of his did. Whatever it was, Pip and Merry have probably done far worse. Hope that there will be more soon!

I agree; Merry and Pippin were a couple of scoundrels--and good at it, too! Gelly's just learning, so he's a light-weight. There *is* more, if you're a glutten for punishment! As I finish a chapter, I'll post the next one. Thanks for reading! :-) Pippinfan

Nice chapter. I really like the way you're showing that Pippin is maturing and coming into his own. Something tells me that Pippin should be very careful in getting into a relationship with Sapphira. She certainly has a lot of emotional baggage, that's for sure. I think I'll leave it at that for right now. I'm so tired that I'm not sure that I'm making much sense. Thanks. Connie B.

Oh, yes--Pippin is not a tween anymore; he's all grown up now. However, still being as young as he is, he's lacking in the "life experience" department. And I believe he gave of his heart so easily...poor lad. We'll see as the story unfolds if he's chosen wisely or not... Thanks for reading! :-) Pippinfan

Grey Wonderer · 20 May 2005 · Chapter 0: Hello, it's me again...

Perfect! The new story just as promised. I have been looking forward to this one.

Great beginning! Seems Pip is up to his old tricks in this one. I loved the guessing what the new nurse would be like and how very wrong they both were. He certainly has made her angry, hasn't he? LOL I do have to ask this, does this one start after "Roses" and continue on with that line or is this a separate story and not related to "Roses"? Just wondering if Pip is still in mourning over his wife and child or if that story has no relationship to this one.

Author's reply

Very good question...I meant to put that in my Prologue, so I guess I'll be revisiting that bit. But as you know, the entire story of Roses was A/U, having nothing really to do with my "real" Pippin universe. So I guess the basic answer would be that this story is separate. I figured it would be just like a couple lads to assume the spinster would be the one to mind the children. Fixed them, didn't I? Now I have to go fix a boo-boo I missed. :-P Thanks for stopping by; hope to update again before the weekend is out. Take care. :-) PF

Yay! You've started posting it. I've been waiting since Roses to read this. You're off to a great start. Pippin had better be careful who he tries to fool into thinking he's anything other than the Thain's son. He could have dug himself a whole with Sapphira that he couldn't climb out of. Hope they can work this little snag out quickly. I did find one little redundancy. When you were writinging about Pippin trying to thwart Everard's attempt to pinch his cheeks, you used both the pronoun "his" and his proper name to refer to Everard. You might want to check it out and see which one sounds better to you. I'm just sooo excited you're posting again. I'm doing a little hobbity happy-dance. Connie B.

Without even going back to look first, I know exactly what error you're talking about. I was giving the chapter one last comb-over before publishing it and by the time I got to the end my screen name timed out. *None* of the corrections I made took; I had to go back and do it all over again, trying to remember what I did the first time and that redundancy was one of them--so apparently I missed it the second time round. I feel that once I've logged on, there should be no timing out unless I purposely log out on my own. Grrr. Anyhoo...thank you for visiting! I'm happy to see you've found poor Pippin's latest adventure and I look forward to hearing more of what you think. Take care and talk to you on Sunday--I won't forget this time! Pippinfan

You *do* have to go at everything sideways, don't you? *grin* I'll be fascinated to see how this one turns out, and will eagerly await the eventual appearance of Miss Diamond!
