"When next his smile greets you with ease, hear the laughter in my own heart. Throughout the remaining days of his life in Arda, his joy shall be my bliss. Feel our bond, Hamille, and you will know why the Sea – and Elvenhome – must wait, and why their Call is but a hushed whisper in my ears. If my company on this journey brings Aragorn the sweetness of contentment, it is a cup of bitterness I gladly drink.”
That's my favorite part of the chapter. I wonder if Hamille has someone to anchor him. ~TF
Author's reply
Thanks for your review, TF. You forgot to log in; glad you left your initials. :-)
Does Hamille have someone to anchor him? Not as strongly. After all, those he loves could sail with him.
It's very interesting that you have used the term "anchor" - because that was the EXACT term I wanted to use, then decided against it for fear that some might find the concept too 'fluffy'. Yet that concept must have come across for you to use it. I'm so glad!

I am not sure whether I can be called a faithful reviewer but thank you for getting around to Aragorn and Legolas talking to each other about this. It makes me much happier. These 'menacing voices' almost sound wistful. I suspect we may be about to see the fulfilment of another prophecy like the road of the dead.

· Chapter 5: The Call
Hi again! :) :) :) Another nice yummy update! :D
I wonder what these Twice Forgotten want from Aragorn... "He will weaken. We will take him then." - I take it they do not want to invite him to a tea party. ;-) This is getting more and more fascinating and unsettling.
I love it that Aragorn talks to Legolas about his problems, and does not keep hiding them! Hm, is it a coincidence that all who feel the presence of the Nameless Ones were on the Paths of the Dead?! *shudders* Not a nice thought that these creepy beings pursue Aragorn.
“Whatever it is, Estel, we will face it together,” an elven voice said calmly in his ear. “You are not alone. Whatever path it would take you on – you will never be alone. I will walk it with you; all of us will. Be assured of that.”
*purring* :D
I need a vacation on the seaside... *sigh* preferably with a certain ranger and elf *deep sigh* around... ;-)
The scene with Eldarion, Aragorn and Gimli was sweet. And of course I loved the references to Legolas. :) "Do you and he plan together what to say to me, Father?” - *chuckle*
*SIGH* Each one of your chapters is better, sweeter and more beautiful than the last one... I absolutely loved this chapter!!! Now I want to know how Legolas is...
Waiting as patiently as possible for the next update,
an anonymous Wet Puddle (who suffers from update-longing, lol!) :D
Author's reply
Hi, Wet Puddle. :-)
Glad the story is unsettling you... that's how Aragorn and Legolas feel.
And we DO want to be close to them, don't we? :-)

Mae Govannen Legolass,
What a fine chapter. Whoa is this getting spooky or what, (but don't listen to me, my favorite character in the wizard of Oz was the cowardly Lion! LOL). Very glad to see the twins on board and I really like that you had Legolas explain how the sea longing might affect the other elves. I always wondered if Elladan & Elrohir worried about it. Remember for your first story, I said you may have to stick on warning labels for my heart. We may have to consider reinstating them...
Until next time
Eliza
Author's reply
Well, Eliza - I hope this does get spooky for you, because it should. But just a little. :-)
As for warning labels - okay, I'll consider them, have them printed in spooky colors or something...
Thanks for the review!

Oh you evil author, evil! Leaving us hanging with nasty things with red eyes looming through the mist. I am hiding under the bed and peering out at my laptop screen just to make sure they don't come my way. Please get Aragorn and the elves talking before it is too late! (But then cliff hangers wouldn't be so much fun.)
P.s I've finally got around to getting you on my author alerts list. Should have done it ages ago but keep forgetting to log in before I start reading!

YAY!!! New chapter! *galopps into story at full speed*
Hm, I think Legolas should really have an eye on Aragorn. Aragorn obviously feels something, if only he would take it seriously. *shakes head* I think without each other they wouldn't have survived the first couple of years.
Now, don't tell me Merry and Pippin are dancing *that* jig?! ROTFL!
I would be pleased too if I were that tree! *dreamy smile* Hm, whatever they are feeling, Legolas seems to feel it stronger or more accurately than the others. Gimli is affected as well? Now I wonder if Faramir and the others feel something, too.
Why do I have the feeling that it will be too late when Aragorn finally decides to speak about his problems and feelings? *looks at seeking red eyes and shudders* It seems to me you already have a good Halloween-story. :) I loved that chapter and am looking (patiently and expectantly) forward to the next one! :)

*galopps into story at full speed*
Now I have a new name for you - the Looooooooone Ranger - OR - the Headless Horseman. What the heck, I already think of you as the Wet Puddle.
Merry and Pippin dancing that jig - now THERE'S a thought!!!! :-D
As for Legolas feeling more accurately than the others: I think it's because he has experience enough with the Sea-longing to be able to compare the two, so he can be more discerning with the two types of discomfort; the others just feel the unease and have nothing else to compare it to.
Do Faramir and the others sense it too? You'll find out soon... ;-)
It just so happens to be close to Halloween eh? *rubs hands in glee* maybe I should spook you guys more... *looks right and left* Maybe I should make you melt from fear now...
Nah, I'm not good at writing scary stories - so no worries there, lol.

Very interesting! I wonder who the glowing red eyes belong to? Wargs, Orcs--vampires?! I can't wait to find out.
Ha, I would have loved to have seen the faces of the tongue-tied elves when Gimli asked if Dwarves felt the sea-longing! Gimli is sure to remember that for future teasing.
I really like how you have paced this story but now it is accelerating towards something sinister and I can't wait to read more.
Keep up the great work.Update soon.

Hello Legolass,
Thank you for that tender scene between Thranduil & Legolas AND the scene with the elves arguing (Gimili was right, some one needs to yell once or twice) I enjoy seeing how Leggy develops with other characters. Although I do think I'm ready to grab my elf by his ears & give him a good shake for being so stubborn & not just staying firmly on dry land. Please tell him I said he's immortal not invincible (I think it's the mom gene in me, I hate to see my kids hurting, even if they are adults). Definitely like the happy chapters especially since I know the angst is on the way...
Until next time,

*delighted squeal* Getting these review alerts always feels like Christmas... ;-)
"Learn to run faster"! *giggle* I wonder if that will help...?! *cough* Methinks he will have to run very far and fast to escape all those enthusiastic fanfic writers who are after him... :D Thranduil and Legolas are so sweet together, I love it how you describe their relationship. I love Thranduil! *forgets decorum and huggles elven king* Legolas really needs someone to look after him. I liked the references to OuaS (looks even funnier than "For the Love...", LOL!), the friendship between Legolas and Hamille is much deeper with this background.
I feel like *I'm* on a ship now - the sea, the smell, the sun, the wind - you really have a way to make words come alive. “Not that it’s going to worry me or anything, mind you, but I don’t care to have a moaning, groaning elf on our hands!” *snorts* LOL!!! I like you Gimli, worrying so much for his dear friend and not wanting to be caught at it! :D Ai, I really hope Hamille will not sail! He must look after Legolas!!! *grabs Hamille and ties him to Middle-earth* And I would miss him, too. *sniff*
*SIGH* Some day you will have a permanent wet puddle as a reviewer, if you continue writing like that... This elf is so selfless, giving all and bearing all for the joy of his friend... *melts* HA! Aragorn has a surprise appearance. *grins* I'm glad he is very aware of his friend's problems, though I expected no less from him.
Hmmmm... *raises eyebrow* this could be considered a tiny little cliffie... I think I will survive that one. ;-) Looking forward (patiently) for the next chapter,

That was so wonderful. I loved the reference to the chestnuts. So funny. Thranduil really put Hamille in a hard place didn't he? I think he would have been there anyway though. I was glad to see Aragorn overhearing Legolas and Gimli's conversation. That was Gimli didn't have to break his word to Legolas by telling Aragorn anyway. I'm sure he would have. He is so stubborn. Just like the elf. Thanks again for a great chapter.

· Chapter 3: Journey
I really enjoyed this chapter, Legolass. The adorable children and their unending questions probably tested the patience of everybody but it was so cute. How exciting to go on a trip to the sea!
Of course, a trip to the sea is probably not reccommended for those with sea-longing but,as usual, you know how to deliver the angst when it concerns our favourite elf.Thranduil's quip of "Run faster" was very funny but it was sound advice and I hope Legolas remembers his Ada's words when he is in peril--which I have no doubt he will be in soon(rubs hands in glee;D).
As with all your stories, the theme of the brotherhood between Aragorn & Legolas is at the forefront and I never tire of reading your words describing the love they have for each other. That Legolas stayed in Middle Earth for so long after Aragorn's death bespeakes of a friendship that we would all love to have.
'Gentle' Gimli! That was funny but the lovable dwarf can be just that were Legolas is concerned. He tries to understand Legolas' affliction and his gruff demeanor hides his fear--but it is good that Legolas knows Gimli's heart.
So, the party are not going to be alone for long.I can't wait to find out who--or what--will disrupt the happy voyage.Update soon, please.
Take care.

Thank you for appreciating Legolas and Aragorn's great friendship, and yes Gimli is really very gentle at heart, like a great big teddy bear - and nothing demonstrates it more than his mushy feelings for Galadriel!

I hadn't read LOTR before the movies came out but I quickly became aware that the members of the Fellowship truly loved each other.I found the books very emotional and your stories, especially 'For The Love Of The Lord Of The White Tree' are just as satisfying. As another reviewer stated, Legolas' words to Aragorn left me in a puddle of mush, too.I do love those two and you manage to write just the perfect words to highlight the deep love they have for each other *sigh*.

The elf sighed and cast his eyes downward to the green grass around their feet. “What I meant, Estel, was that… some day… some day…the Lands would be a better place to go to,” he said quietly. “But till that day… my own place is here with you.” Lifting his head to face the man squarely, he finished: “And till that day, Estel – there is no better place to be.”
Warm fuzzies on that bit. I liked the warmth in the Fellowship's reunion as well. It would be bittersweet. Looking forward to finding out what exactly is causing Aragorn's unease. ~TF

Ok quick hello today, I'm supposed to be paying attention to a power point presentation in what has to be the absolute most boringest(is that a word?) meeting in all of Arda. Great chapter as always. You would think by now Estel and Legolass would start to pay attention to those funny feelings when they get them. It was great seeing everyone together, even the twins (my personal favorites) Such love comes shining through in your words, why do I have my own sneaky feeling that this is just the provebial quiet before the storm...Oops gotta go, I think I'm supposed to answer a question.
Wishing for a balrog to swallow me now,

I was just thinking about your story and here comes the next chapter. I guess I will have to think of it more often if that helps updates come quicker! I loved all the tenderness shown between characters in this chapter. They all love each other very much. Is Aragorn being haunted by evil creatures? Something is lurking in his mind. We will have to enjoy the peace of this chapter as I'm sure pretty soon there will be very little peace to be had. Is that right?

Well met again Legolass,
Welcome back. I see our old friends are up to some thing again hummm. Now this is intriguing. Great opening chapter, very nice to see a large collection of characters about.
