If you are a Mortal, do not weary the Elves by asking them to distinguish who wrote which part. If you are the Dark Lord, we do not have to talk to you unless... well, you know the rest, we don't have to spell it out for you. When the beep sounds, do not waste your time leaving a message. We are busy singing, or eating, or sitting and thinking, or riding out on errantry. We have all the time in the world, but no time to listen to messages, unless they are brought by proper messengers. So you see, two thirds of this are quite funny. The first lines are pretty good to, though.

Snort. What if it was the opposite such as: "Home is behind, the world ahead"? Or even better, after Boromir dies, "Through Rohan, over fen and field..." Maybe after Aragorn takes over, he somehow sets it to the Lament of Boromir, as above. And if he didn't use the Orthanc stone, then he set that one to "The Lament of the Rohirrim and/or Théoden".

Hi Lindelea. I have only come across your wonderfully funny piece. I would love to use the Tower of Barad-Dur one for the pesky scammers they drive batty. The Tower of Orthanc for all the other callers that can drive one batty. Have you thought of expanding to include the dwarves, ents, shire and the place where then grey ships go. Galathil

Oh, my goodness, those are wonderful ideas! I will have to give it some thought. I think the Green Dragon represents the Shire at the moment, but certainly Bilbo ought to have his own message, and I can almost hear Treebeard hooming and hrumming in the back of my mind... And the dwarves... maybe a spinoff of the song in The Hobbit... Thanks!
