Okay, I know. I already left a review, but I just have to leave another one. This Saga, the first part, anyway, has been absolutely astounding. It is a testement to your abilities as an excellent author, for to take on the task of doing the incomparable favorite the Lord of the Rings and do it as if it was done a second time and to succeed in a wonderful way is staggering. I don't know how you did it, Antane, but you did. THis time around is as good as or maybe even better than the first. You have done such a wonderful job on this piece of work. I'm definately going to have to read it again. Hannon le, mell min, for giving your devoted readers such a treat to read. You allowed them to take passage into the beloved character's hearts and see how hard it was, both the first and second time around. Please keep up this beautiful work, and have a wonderful Christmas and New Years! Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins
Author's reply
My dear Frodo, hannon le! Hannon le! Hannon le! I am most humbled and amazed that you would think this was even better than the first - I don't think anyone could outdo the master, but I do thank the Writer of the Story (both the Creator and subcreator) for this opportunity to write my own labor of love. I'm afraid no more will be coming until after Christmas, but I hope you will think it worth the wait!
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Oh!! Antane! THis has turned out absolutely lovely! I do pity Frodo, and for a reason besides the obvious. TO lose one's ability to write....AHHHHH!!!! That would be so terrible!! "Just a little longer, Sam." How many times have I said that to my mom? Writing a book....and devouring as many books as I can! I'm as bad as the Baggins himself. But Antane, ahem, WHAT DO YOU MEAN NOTHING UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS?!?!?!? This is... this is....I wanted to read it over the Christmas break!! I understand though, really. But will you be posting anything at all? Even just a teensy little piece *blue eyes beseeching you*? Pleeeeeease? You're such a wonderful author, it would be an absolute pity and since you're taking a break from this marvelous piece to work on another one, I'll give you a break. But, the wait had better be worth it or I'll sick my Sam on you(Queen Galadriel). ANd she will get after you, too!! I speak from experience! ;) Oh, one more thing, I'm glad you liked my song. I'm sure Galadriel told you how shocked I was that the best author on SOA would want MY song, but I wanted to tell you myself. I can't belive it. When she told me you wanted to use it, I sat at the computer wondering if I should laugh for joy, cry for joy, or maybe even reply. I ended up doing the latter after I stopped staring and then smiling. THanks for your wonderful works! I can't even begin to tellyou how much I love it! Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins
Author's reply
My dear Frodo, hannon le! I haven't figured out exactly where to put your song yet, but I love it, it is so beautiful and I definitely want to put it somewhere! If you get inspired again, you know where to find me! Looking forward to reading your own stories here! :)
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

· Chapter 53: Lesson Learned
I didn't read this chapter but I scanned a few of the others and I have just one question, why did you rewrite the trilogy? I mean it was done once and certainly didn't need your spin on things. This was bold on your part but really not entertaining.
Author's reply
I got the idea from a blurb in a magazine when the theaterical ROTK DVD came out that said "Now you can take the whole journey all over again (poor Frodo)" and I thought "Hmmmm."

What a lovely and satisfying way to finish part one. Good luck with your story. And 'Hannon le' to you too. As 'sort of' Sam's to your 'Frodo' it is nice to be acknowledged even if it makes us blush. You do all the hard work and put in all the heart ache and effort. We, reviewers, do our best to apreciate, support and encourage. Looking forward to part two!

Oh, I was crying too by the end of this chapter Antane. But I do like your Aragorn here.
Author's reply
Hannon le, harrowcat. Frodo is in such desperate need of spiritual direction after the Quest that I am glad he is getting it from Gandalf and Aragorn and even Sam.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
:-) :-) :-) You did it, Antane! You did what I wondered would be impossible at the beginning. You brought Frodo through it a second time, and they're all alive. Alive, but not all well. Frodo obviously has much, much healing before him and I can hardly wait till part two! Now I must go and reread! Namarie, God bless,
Galadriel

What an ending! One of the best endings to a story I've ever read! I especially liked how Frodo wrote 'You are my hero, Sam. I love you.' a hundred times. Very touching and sweet. Can't wait till part 2! :D

Hannon le! Glad you enjoyed!

· Chapter 49: The Care and Feeding of Hobbits
I am reading this on the day after Thanksgiving but before breakfast so I am sure it still counts as being yesterday! I enjoyed the feast and felt that I would have loved to be there. Poor Frodo, still not able to enjoy his food - such a terrible trial for a hobbit. Laughed out loud at the stolen dessert.
(Just two little jarring notes in this chapter for me Antane. I hope you don't mind me commenting on them. Isn't Merry a Knight of the Mark by this time and no longer a Squire? Both were dressed in their official military outfits. This felt just too modern for me and the more simple- uniforms would do just as well. But that is just my own opinion so please don't mind me.)
Author's reply
My dear harrowcat, I didn't like that sentence either but for some reason my brain couldn't think of another word but you're right of course about uniforms being better and that is how it know reads. Glad you enjoyed the stolen dessert - it seemed a very Merry-Pippin thing to do! :)

· Chapter 49: The Care and Feeding of Hobbits
Ooooo! Three chapters! Three whole chapters! A Thanksgiving feast, indeed! :-) I just love how Sam always knows what Frodo needs sometimes before even he does and always does or gives it without a word. That's just so beautiful. But Frodo must, must recover from this state of...what? It goes beyond melancholy or hopelessness, or even the depths of despair. That bit about his hands and feeling lost just broke my heart, but I love Sam's, "Then hold onto me and let me lead you out." Great stuff! Namarie, and God bless,
Galadriel
Author's reply
Dearest, hannon le! I don't think Frodo is in despair, at least not yet, definitely headed in that direction with his depression, but perhaps with his Sam's TLC, he won't get there, but we'll see. Those parts you mentioned are some of my favorites too, so glad you liked them! (Did you get my e-mails on "Through the Flames"? I haven't heard from you but maybe you've just been busy.)
Namarie, God bless, Love ya, Antane :)

· Chapter 48: A Hobbit Honored
Frodo remained kneeling for a long while, but felt he had only paid the smallest fraction of his debt to Sam. He would keep paying his friend back for the rest of his life and he wondered if even that was long enough. He doubted it.
It may not be indeed but it might just give rodo another major reason to live and be well! Briliant homages paid Antane.

Oh, Anatne!! You have brought tears to my eyes...again! Oh, this was...so beautiful! All those reasons were very true. Oh, do let Frodo live again! But I know you will, because the Professor had to and you better as well. That stuff about Iluvtar(spelling?) was really good! I never cease to be utterly amazed at your works. Namarie, mellon nin! · Chapter 46: Favorite Things
Oh, Antane, this left me smiling hugely with tears in my eyes. I could see Frodo, Merry, Pippin, and Sam doing all these things as they recounted them in the delightful topsy-turvy way. This was a delightful, wonderful, beautiful, oh-so-sweet chapter! Frodo must wake soon! And oh, how I wish he could come back to the Shire, all free from pain and grief, and do all these things with his cousins and dearest friend! I've got an idea for a later chapter, if you haven't thought of this already. What if, after all the restoration and stuff, just the four of them took a short camping trip together, so they could do all those things one more time? Just a thought. I think it would be a good angst-reliever, if I have any idea of what's to come...and I do. God bless,
Galadriel

My dear, hannon le! If you want to write out that thought, I'd be happy to put in someplace - in part 2 I would guess.

Oh this is so moving Antane. This is a late night read and I need to come back when I am less tired. Love the homage to C.S. Lewis in the title too.
Author's reply
Hannon le, harrowcat! Glad you enjoyed. I enjoyed writing it. Thanks also for your comment on Sam finally not being able to obey his master - brother in something. Frodo so needs to know he is still loved by his Sam and his Creator after all that's happened.

· Chapter 44: Love Remains
Oh, Antane, this is so beautiful! I just love the way Sam keeps on loving Frodo, even when Frodo thinks he doesn't deserve it. And Faramir didn't die! Hooray! But poor, poor Frodo! I don't think I could live with the realisation that I'd killed someone, even someone like Gollum. I hope, I hope that he can find some measure of healing before he leaves Middle-earth...and soon. Keep it coming! God bless,

· Chapter 44: Love Remains
No, dear, I don’t hate you,” he said softly.
“I want you to,” Frodo said just loud enough for Sam to hear.
“I would do anything for you, my dear,” he said. “But I can’t do that.”
For the first time Sam finds something he can't bear to do. This is wonderful Antane.

ANTANE!!! Oh....YOU!! You have done it now!! And it's not like I can just stop reading, either. You have left me with the most cruel cliff hanger(ah, no pun intended)!! Both Frodo and Sam had better come out of that horrid place alive and in one piece (save Frodo's finger that you felt you just had to take from him again). Nothig left!?!?! What do you mean nothing left?!?! THis is CRUEL!!! THis is.....horribly, terribly cruel!! How can you live with yourself?!?! Nothign left of dear, sweet Frodo!! No! No! You cannot keep doing this! It's just...just...Oh, fine! I know you're having fun getting people's reactions to these evil cliff-hangers, and I would too. But this is just too much! Sam had better just drop the Ring into the fire...now! But oh, how I pity Frodo! He'll hate himself for what he did to Gollum, though the wretched creature deserves it, I dare say. Keep it coming just as fast as you can! God bless,
