Teeny Pip, all wrapped up and sharing with the bird! I am dead dead dead from the cute.

Author's reply

Having fun with my drabbles, are we? Glad you like it!

Edoraslass · 29 January 2007 · Chapter 6: Mad Bagginses

Aw, that's so sweet! There's nothing like being genuinely nice and caring to children to make people think twice about your reputation. And I can just see Frodo picking up Marigold and drying her tears.

Author's reply

The Gaffer can be fun to write, because his is such a country accent. I really need to get back into the swing of fanfiction.

Edoraslass · 29 January 2007 · Chapter 10: Midnight Visitors

Ha, that's what you get for telling little ones scary stories! I would really like to see this subject revisited, on the trip from Rivendell.

Edoraslass · 29 January 2007 · Chapter 13: Of Vegetables and Dragon-Slayers

AhahahahaHA. I wonder what Eowyn would think if she knew she was being used to get little Hobbit children to eat their vegetables!

Author's reply

If I remember correctly, this was inspired by a night when I had to convince my nieces to eat their veggies. I think I actually used Harry Potter as an example ("Do you seriously think that he could defeat Voldemort with a stomach full of cookies?"), but that was easily changed into Eowyn. Nice and silly. :)

Lindelea · 28 November 2005 · Chapter 13: Of Vegetables and Dragon-Slayers

I love this picture! She ate vegetables! (shades of Popeye the Sailor Man...)

harrowcat · 28 November 2005 · Chapter 13: Of Vegetables and Dragon-Slayers

Now why didn't my Dad think of ways like this to get me to eat my 'greens' when I was little. I was just threatened with 'no pudding'. Very hobbit-like but not as effective. *g*

Larner · 27 November 2005 · Chapter 13: Of Vegetables and Dragon-Slayers

Eowyn as the Popeye of her day and world has me flat giggling! "Vegetables!" "I am what I am and that's all that I am, I'm Eowyn the sword-wielding dragonslayer!"

Larner · 25 November 2005 · Chapter 12: Rivendell Tales

Aha! So, now we know the source of all those legends, do we--a small boy in Rivendell preparing for mighty deeds of his own, finishing the stories told first to him by his adar. Wonderful imaginings!

Lindelea · 25 November 2005 · Chapter 12: Rivendell Tales

funny, I was just reading in a "scholarly work" about the sources C.S. Lewis and Tolkien drew upon for their works. We were deep in Arthurian tales not so long ago, but we seem to have moved on to Robin Hood for the present.

Lindelea · 25 November 2005 · Chapter 11: Whispers in the Dark

Whoo! You fooled me. I thought it was Moria, and Gollum... What a nice ending!

harrowcat · 24 November 2005 · Chapter 12: Rivendell Tales

*Grin!* So that's where our 'newer' folk tales come from eh?

Larner · 18 November 2005 · Chapter 11: Whispers in the Dark

Glad Merry's prediction has proven true.

harrowcat · 17 November 2005 · Chapter 10: Midnight Visitors

Nice chuckle to go with the morning coffee, especially after a late night working!

Larner · 16 November 2005 · Chapter 10: Midnight Visitors

At seventeen, Merry also had Gollum under his bed? Hilarious!

Merry_the_Hobbit · 16 November 2005 · Chapter 9: Flames

Wow. I love it, dark and wonderful! Perfect, though, I cannot explain how great a job you did at writing the way I consider Faramir to feel. My congrats to you on a great piece of writing. Merry

Larner · 16 November 2005 · Chapter 9: Flames

How grievous, to be in possession of such knowledge.

harrowcat · 16 November 2005 · Chapter 9: Flames

A definite change of voice and tone and just a bit rambling. But then late night reminising goes that way :) (P.s. Picky reviewer spots spelling error: here = place. hear = to listen. )

demeter d · 15 November 2005 · Chapter 8: Seeing the Shire

Just read both Hiding from the King and Seeing the Shire. Sweet, charming, warm. You have wonderfully captured the affection which Aragorn bore for the Shire. I echo another reviewr who said that it would be a wonderful place to visit. Thank you for sharing!

Author's reply

Thank you for reviewing! I like to write Aragorn and the hobbits. :)

Larner · 15 November 2005 · Chapter 8: Seeing the Shire

Oh, yes, Aragorn, you must visit the Shire indeed one day; and the pages have reason to be glad for their King's relief of spirit.

Author's reply

Yes, I think he should visit, too. Too bad he bound himself to his own law that no men can enter the Shire.

Lindelea · 15 November 2005 · Chapter 8: Seeing the Shire

Awww. (I keep saying that, in response to your drabbles.) I like this expansion on an idea of JRRT's, that Elessar kept the Palantir to be able to look at different parts of his kingdom, sort of a long-distance viewer. And that he'd check up on his friends in the Shire, and find rest in the virtual visit, what a nice thought!

Author's reply

I'm glad you like it! I can just see Aragorn using the palantir for a little R&R. :)

harrowcat · 15 November 2005 · Chapter 8: Seeing the Shire

sixteen children in the charge of only three male hobbits! I am not shaking my head in sympathy I am wincing in anticipation of what Rosie will find when she gets home. Brave of her to leave at all. But then again I am feeling just like Aragorn whenever I read stories on this site - wishing I was there and not just looking in from a distance!

Author's reply

I suppose that if Aragorn had looked towards the door, he would have seen Rosie standing and surveying the chaos with a look of grim death on her face. And possibly Estella and Diamond as well. :)

harrowcat · 15 November 2005 · Chapter 7: Hiding from the King

Of course he is an honourary hobbit! *g* He has been since getting the Travellers to Rivendell if not before; a long time before in some Author's slightly AU stories! Loved this though.

Larner · 15 November 2005 · Chapter 7: Hiding from the King

And there can be no greater honor for such as Aragorn son of Arathorn to be considered just that--as an honorary Hobbit. Love to see the King playing, in peace and joy, with the children of one he loves so well, the honorary nieces and nephews of the other he has loved also.

Lindelea · 14 November 2005 · Chapter 1: Yule at Tuckborough

"could never bear to leave anyone out at Yuletide" Aw, now, I want to read about Yuletide just after leaving Rivendell.

Lindelea · 14 November 2005 · Chapter 4: Sneaky Plots and Worried Kings

You have me grinning, an ever-widening grin as the story progresses. "seemingly always up to something" If I didn’t know better, I’d say they were plotting to overthrow me. LOL! When I got to the part about sulfur, I knew what was up. Such a lovely surprise!
