Another cliffhanger - you better come back soon and tell us more! I'm sure Sam will put his Frodo's fears to rest. Namarie, God bless, Melinyel, Antane :)

Author's reply

Of course Sam will. He's so wonderful and he always does, doesn't he? :) And I will (don't know why there's an elipsis between the wi and l, my computer doesn't like me, I guess) write as soon as I have the chance. School started yesterday and I realised that I'm still to climb Mount Doom. :( Namarie, God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 1 January 2007 · Chapter 11: Broken Bones and Broken Trust

I truly doubt Sam would ever blame Frodo, although I can certainly imagine Frodo might fear that. Glad that Lotho apologized, but would like to know precisely why.

Author's reply

Of course Frodo would blame himself, but dear Sam in the way only he can do will soon dispel those fears. :) And you'll find out about Lotho as soon as the next oppurtunity to write arises. School started yesterday and I feel like I'm climbing Mount Doom. Namarie! God Bless Frodo Baggins

Queen Galadriel · 31 December 2006 · Chapter 11: Broken Bones and Broken Trust

Nooo, another cliff-hanger! It's just not fair to do this, Frodo, it really isn't. :) But it's a happy cliff-hanger this time..at least. :) I have a feeling Frodo has nothing to worry about as far as Sam's trust goes. Love forgives and loves again even when it is hurt, and it most certainly wasn't Frodo's fault. I think Bilbo should tell Lotho's parents. The wretched child, I have no sympathy for him. Maybe he was repentant, but I'm afraid it might take more than that to make me melt and forgive him. It's not so much that he didn't care what he'd done, but he was out to hurt someone--Frodo, namely--and that he ended up making things very unpleasant for both of them and laying poor Sam up for a good while is most certainly not to my liking. Off to read your Yuletide fic! God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

I thought I had replied to this. My apologies, dear. :) Not fair? Well, if you say so. I thought it was the joy of being an author and having the power to use cliffhangers. And it's not like the one I left you all with in "Healer of Hearts." No, I guess it wasn't his fault. :) He still feels it was though. Yeah, that Lotho. Can you imagine trying to hurt someone? You know Bilbo won't stand for anyone trying to hurt his Frodo. He just wanted to teach Frodo a valuable lesson in forgiveness. WEll, off to do school. :( Namarie, God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Queen Galadriel · 7 November 2006 · Chapter 10: Riding Starlight

Oh no! Lotho is so evil! I could just...oh, never mind! But I don't like Sam being left alone while Loathesome Lotho is around. Frodo doesn't have a choice though. Oh, and it was going so nicely for both of them. I love the description of the riding. Ah, how I miss it sometimes! And Frodo's wisdom in keeping as quiet as he can when I just know he'd like to jerk a knot in that cousin of his, is so characteristic and makes me ashamed of my own hasty outbursts. Another cliff-hanger! You don't know what "breathe" means, my dear! LOL! Can't wait to know what happens next! God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Yes, Lotho is very evil. I didn't like leaving Sam alone either, but like you said, there was no choice in the matter. It would be pure foolishness for Frodo to stay there until somebody happened by, and it would also be foolish to take a lad with a prospective broken leg anywhere. So I...Frodo had to choose the lesser of three evils. :( Poor Sam. He will be alright though. I promise. I had just ridden that day, actually. And it was on this horse that I've been dying to ride since I've started working at that stable. He had the most smooth canter. I could have done it all day. I really had fun with that chapter. And more fun to come!! :) I hope I'm not horsing you guys out. :) Sorry, Sam...QG. I couldn't resist the little cliffhanger. You'll be relieved. Don't worry. God Bless, Namarie, Your FrodoB

Althea · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 10: Riding Starlight

Lotho is truly heartless. I'm worried about poor little Sam being left alone when Lotho is nearby. I do hope Frodo can find a healer quickly and can hurry back to help his little friend.

Elanor Silmariën · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 10: Riding Starlight

*gasp* Lotho! Why the evil little..... *rrg!* How could he!?!? *calms down* Sorry. *blushes* Frodo'd better get a healer quickly! Please tell us what happens soon! God bless, Ellie p.s. was lovely talking with you the other day! kept me awake for homework. *grins*

Author's reply

No need to blush, Ellie dear. :) Frodo will go as fast as Gil-galad can take him. Yes, Lotho is a GRR!! LOL! I have to go hem my pants for church tomorrow. I am a true Hobbit, every pair of pants I get I have to hem. It's really a bother. GOd Bless, Frodo Baggins Post Script: Oh, it was indeed lovely talking to you! We should keep up the correspondance. You're so much fun! :) FB

Larner · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 10: Riding Starlight

Ah, trust Lotho Sackville-Baggins to prove to be the spiteful creature he was. Nasty git! And Sam with a possible broken leg! Frodo did well to contain himself about the child.

Author's reply

Yes, a poor example of Hobbits, that one. Poor Sam. Keep reading to find out what's wrong with him. I've learned that in front of children (and any one I guess) who are injured you need to keep a calm face, even if it is bad. It helps the situation a lot. Frodo is a very wise HObbit. Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Antane · 4 November 2006 · Chapter 10: Riding Starlight

Finally another chapter! I had just about given up! Love Sam here, poor dear. Lotho should be arrested. What strength Frodo had not to strike back, but then that's our dear. :) Namarie, God bless, Im mil le, Antane

Author's reply

Don't give up! I had only hit this major writer's block. I've planning a *really* big...hm...how do I say this without spoiling the surprise?... situation, shall we say. ;) But I finally just said to myself, "Frodo, you just need to sit down and start to write. Hopefully it will just come to you." And it did. I even got to squeeze a teeny cliff in there. :) Hehe. Lotho should be arrested. However, you will end up pitying him (if you're anything like me) eventually. Right now, though, it's very hard to do so. Yes, Frodo is our dear. It takes a *lot* of strength to hold back biting comebacks, especially when our loved ones are harmed. You won't believe what I did to a guy who was not a desirable character when I found out he liked my sister. And I've given many a talking to to people who have insulted my sister. :) It's just in my nature to defend those I love. I have to go now. Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Elanor Silmariën · 19 September 2006 · Chapter 8: The Pony

I've finally caught up with this story! *bounces happily* That was soo sweet! I love horses! and the name was so cool! Keep writing more please! God bless, Ellie

Elanor Silmariën · 2 September 2006 · Chapter 5: New Friends

Oh, Poor Frodo! I know how he feels! I'm not good at ball either. This little boy I babysit tried to teach me to play football, and baseball, and the only game I was good at was soccer, which wasn't really his favorite game. (He had alot of energy too, so I felt like a little hobbit girl babysitting an elf child, crazy!)Good chapter! I'll get around to reading the rest soon, I hope. With school coming, life is really crazy right now. *sighs* God bless, Ellie

Author's reply

You too? I wrote that from many, many personal experiences. I just sort of run around on the ball field, hoping the ball dosen't come to me. No, my expertise (so to speak - I'm not really an expert) lies in equestrian sports. And writing. :) But give me a ball and I'm like, "Ooo! Pretty. Lemme throw it!" In the wrong direction! LOL! Glad you liked this chapter. Namarie! And don't worry about the reading. I won't have much time either. School is going crazy for me! *screams and falls on the ground writing* OKay, better now. :) Namarie, mell nin! God Bless, Im mil le, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 8: The Pony

Yes, Sam is already wise when it comes to the young master.

Author's reply

*smiles fondly* Yes, I have always liked to imagine Sam as always being that caring, sweet, gentle, perceptive person that we see in the Fellowship. ANd I get to play around with him as a child! What fun! :) The friendship future master and future gardener share is remarkable - or so I would guess. :)And now to bed! Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 7: Before the Birthday

A joyful reunion here.

Author's reply

Hannon le! FB

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 6: Parental Help

Ah, so he gave up riding, did he? Interesting! And perhaps Sam and Merry together can get him back into it. I hope so.

Author's reply

Riding was too painful for him after his father died. But now that he has come - or is comeing -to terms with that grief, he can take up something that truly was enjoyable to him. I think it will be *Frodo* that helps *Sam* learn. :) Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 5: New Friends

Learning to fit in as the new lad isn't easy, I know. But he's doing a better job than he thinks, I believe.

Author's reply

I speak from experience, fitting in as the "new kid" is the hardest, lonliest thing to do. Especially in a new place. And Frodo is very friendly and polite and easy to talk to...so he will do fine. But it will take time to really make some friends. Namarie! GOd Bless, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 4: Healers and Visitors

Other than Folco being Frodo's first cousin once removed with Frodo as Drogo's son and Folco as Dudo's grandson via Daisy (as you've written it), this is very well done indeed. Folco's a wonderful lad, and now Frodo's going to meet another cousin, although I can't fully remember the ins and outs of that relationship. Via the Tooks, IIRC.

Author's reply

Hannon le! It's nice to hear that my work is enjoyed. :) Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 3: Hobbiton

Only one correction--as Daisy Boffin is daughter to Dudo Baggins, Frodo's uncle, he ought to be aware of her and her husband Griffo. Many write Folco as their son, although the family tree doesn't include Folco at all, so I put him slightly sideways as a cousin via both Tooks and Boffins. Very glad Frodo stood up to Lotho, and that Griffo championed him and offered protection to him and the two Gamgees.

Author's reply

*blushing* Oh dear! I suppose you're right. I shall look into it when I am not tired from doing school all day and then babysitting my...ahem...incessant little brother all night. THose family connections can be...mind boggling, to say the least. If you are tired and your brain is not funcioning correctly. But hannon le for pointing that out. :) I could use all the help I can get. I'm glad Frodo stood up to LothoPimple too. And poor Frodo after taking a beating and then being several sizes smaller and a few years younger needed help. :) Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 2: Home at last

And two caring souls find one another that day.

Author's reply

Yes! It was hard to decide exactly how Frodo and Sam meet for the very first time. SO many cute bunnies hopping about my brain...:) Hannon le! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 1: That fateful day...

Sweet lad that he is, and already realizing Bilbo is the one who loves him most as he needs to be loved.

Author's reply

Hannon le! How couldn't he realize that Bilbo loves him so much? I think the old Hobbit would be soft as butter when it came to his nephew (and first and second cousin, according to Gaffer Gamgee). Catching up, are we? I was rather shocked when I had nine reviews all on the same story! But I like it:) Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 0: The Ringbearer is forged

Ah, indeed, that he is. Frodo the Ringbearer he'll be, although he'll pay the price for his fame, and those he did it for will understand it the least.

Author's reply

It is rather tragic, that those he did it for will understand the least, as you so elegantly put it. But Frodo was willing all the same. And he will pay a great price, but hopefully he will still go to find the needed healing in the West. Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Antane · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 8: The Pony

So he has his pony and love and all that good stuff! Glad he had some memories about his father and though it hurt, it was good to remember too. That scene was very well done. Glad you settled on that name for his pony. Merry was cute too! Namarie, God bless, Im mil le, Antane :)

Author's reply

Hannon le for the help with the naming of the pony! Yes, he has his pony. My pony rather. Or the one I've always wanted. It is bittersweet to remember some things. Trust me, I know. I love doing young Merry, but young Pippin will be the best because I have this incessent bundle of energetic inspiration in my younger brother! He even has breathtaking green eyes that can tell you exactly how his misheif little mind is working! He's so sweet, too. :) I'm gonna go hug him! LOL! Glad you liked the story..er, chapter. Namarie, God Bles, IM mil le, Frodo Baggins

Elemmírë · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 8: The Pony

Frodo smiled wanly. "You’re welcome. I just...I wish I could give you everything you ever wanted, but you already have everything." *Sighs in contentment* That is such a very sweet and noble sentiment. Very lovely chapter and I'm glad Frodo was able to enjoy the memories of his father that his new pony evoked.

Author's reply

Hannon le! I had fun with this chapter. :) I am so glad you enjoyed this. Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Queen Galadriel · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 8: The Pony

*grin* I love it! What a beautiful pony! Sounds like he's got a sweet personality too. And if Merry finds Gil-Galad a bit hard to pronounce, he can always shorten it to one of the two parts of the name-Gil or Galad. :) This was absolutely wonderful, Frodo, and I can definitely appreciate how wonderful it is to be surprised with something you love and miss more than you realise! :) God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Yes, I thought that I would grace Frodo with the pony I've always wanted. Dreamy, isn't he (er, the pony, that is)? And yes, I need a pony if I am to have any equine for my own. Those tall horses are just...too tall. :) THough I will name mine Strider.Good idea about Merry! I just had a horrible thought - Gil galad will have to die in a future chapter!! I'm just heart broken! *sniff* I'm glad you liked this. Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Queen Galadriel · 15 August 2006 · Chapter 7: Before the Birthday

Sam is so wise for one so young. Frodo did indeed give Bilbo the best present of all, and it's a gift he'll continue to give throughout their lives. Merry is so cute! :) (But if Frodo is turning twenty-two, the year should be 1391.) I just know the next chapter is going to be bittersweet, but I can't wait! I love the joy of this. God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Oops! I thought I replied to this. Forgive me, Lady. Yes, Sam is very wise indeed. I love the little sweety! I changed Frodo's age. Thanks for the tip! Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Elemmírë · 12 August 2006 · Chapter 7: Before the Birthday

Sam is very wise for one so young. HeHe, just as Frodo can be a little dense at times when it comes to certain matters. And little Merry is too cute for words! You already gave him what no treasure or money can buy, Mr. Frodo." Frodo looked at his young friend puzzedly. "What’s that?" "You gave him someone to love, and you love him back. No matter how much money he has in that Hill, it could never buy him someone to love and the cherish the way he loves and cherishes you, if you understand me." I can't wait to see Frodo's reaction to being the proud new owner of a pony!

Author's reply

Ah, Elemmire, Mae Govannen! I agree that Sam was very wise when he was young. ;) Hey! Watch it! No, just teasing. I guess he can be a little dense in certain areas. :) YOu won't have to wait too much longer to see his reaction! Hannon le for the enthusiastic review! Namarie! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Antane · 5 August 2006 · Chapter 5: New Friends

Ah, sweet Sam, looking after his treasure... I think I'd be just as good at town ball as Frodo - so happy to have something more in common with him, even this! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane

Author's reply

LOL! Well...as his Town Ball experience was written purely from first hand experiences, I suppose you and I have that in common as well! I am like an oaf with any kind of ball! And my dad was a real athlete, too. As Billy Boyd said, "I have a gift for [ball], I just haven't opened it and given it to myself." LOL!! Thanks for reviewing. GOd Bless, FB
