Melneth · 9 January 2022 · Chapter 14: Epilogue

I was just re-reading through some of my favorite stories and noticed that this epilogue doesn't look complete. I searched another site and sure enough, there are another few paragraphs to this story. Just wanted to let you know. Thank you for your wonderful works!

ajones · 3 April 2019 · Chapter 14: Epilogue

Could not put this one down, didn't want it to end. Loved what you did with Lothíriel, loved how she was such a willing patient prey to Eomer's hesistant hunter.

mistry89 · 12 February 2007 · Chapter 14: Epilogue

Just wanted to say thank you for this story. I seldom read beyond Fellowship or elven characters (I think Soledad is my exception to date), so I'm not sure why I was prompted to put this on my handheld, but I'm very glad I did. Thank you! (and now I'm off to look at your "other versions"! :)

Author's reply

Glad you enjoyed it -- I have been told that this one was my most 'serious' version. So be warned if you check out the others. *Chuckle* LBJ

At least bringing Imrahil in on his intentions gave Eomer the chance to steer Lothiriel somewhere private! I wonder how successful he will be in bringing the wedding forward. Pretty successful, I suspect! Imrahil will probably go along with it - and how convenient it will be to combine the Eowyn/Faramir and Eomer/Lothiriel wedding. And Eomer prefers Lothiriel to either Galadriel or Arwen - as it should be!

harrowcat · 28 June 2006 · Chapter 14: Epilogue

Oh yes! A lovely ending to this Lady Bluejay. Thanks for inviting us along on the journey.

Bodkin · 26 June 2006 · Chapter 13: The Departure

Well - at least he and Lothiriel have their understanding, and he managed to sneak a few late-night kisses! I wonder what Faramir thinks about Eowyn's freedom to spend her time with him - I imagine he rather appreciates the easier Rohirric customs there! The full ceremonial cheering of the Rohirrim as they leave Minas Tirith is well-deserved - long may the Gondorians remember how the northern barbarians came to their rescue! Elfhelm is managing to be remarkably efficient. I reckon the king should remember that! He should have no difficulty helping lick Rohan into shape. Epilogue, huh... Looking forward to it!

Author's reply

I think we have to remember that Faramir is so noble - he won't take advantage! To be honest I dont know where they went off to, I just have to trust them! I wanted to make something of the Rohirrim leaving - Tolkien says that the road was lined all across the Pelennor - very well deserved too! I have got a lot of time for Elfhelm , ever since I read Unfinished Tales and found out about his part in the battle for the Fords of Isen - a good man that. Thanks for all your detailed reviews - only a very short epilogue to go now- but I have already started the next- very different- one. LBJ

harrowcat · 25 June 2006 · Chapter 13: The Departure

Aw... I was waiting for the big kiss in spite of stuffy Gondorian manners! But then, her dad might not approve! Can't wait for the epilogue.

Author's reply

I think her dad is getting so desperate he won't bother about a kiss! Thanks for reading and reviewing. LBJ

Bodkin · 18 June 2006 · Chapter 12: The Promise

Preparation - very important! And a distraction. Also wise. Erchirion gave his sister some good advice there - Horselords are a difficult bunch, and they don't necessarily play by Gondor's rules. I think they've made their positions fairly plain. Without sneaking off into the private garden. Good job. Most enjoyable.

Author's reply

No, I did not want him buckling down to their wishes too quickly. But of course, however much he wanted to go his own way - the end result is the same. LBJ

Alison H · 16 June 2006 · Chapter 12: The Promise

That was a wonderful chapter! The banter between Legolas and Gimli was priceless and Eomer did enough goading, too.I'm glad Lothiriel found them both amusing but also wanted to know about their exploits at Helms Deep, especially how Gimli saved Eomer.Gimli could certainly provide Lothiriel with enough details about the battle but, wisely, Eomer steered the conversation on to other things. Eomer has probably never, ever taken so much interest in dancing before and his enthusiasm, especially in dancing with Lothiriel, is very endearing.Eomer's willingness to take the floor is both funny and romantic and he has everything so well organised. If I were Lothiriel(*I wish*),Eomer would be hard to resist about now.Who wouldn't want to spend the rest of your life with this man?! Eomer took the plunge and bared his heart to Lothiriel and he was rewarded just the way he'd hoped--with a little help from Erchirion! That was a lovely ending and I loved Lothiriel's conviction that she would have no regrets.Eomer's parting words to Faramir were hilarious and I can't wait for the next chapter. Lovely story.Update soon. Ali.

Author's reply

Hi Ali, I have always thought him hard to resist! Its why I enjoy writing about him - I loved his character in the books and love to play with it in my stories. Some bits of him change - but not too much. He is focused on sorting everthing out before he returns to Rohan - so he is even prepared to dance to achieve his goal!! LBJ

MithLuin · 7 June 2006 · Chapter 11: The Threat

She threatened to steal Eomer's horse? Priceless! I do like how Faramir and Eomer are getting along. Faramir is far more comfortable with the official, stone stuff, but fits in well enough discussing bows, whores and taverns. Though, I don't know that prostitutes would be a good thing to discuss with the man whose sister he wants to marry!

Alison H · 6 June 2006 · Chapter 11: The Threat

I loved the banter between Eomer and Faramir, the words said and left unsaid and each one enjoying their moment of mischief.Very enjoyable, LBJ! Well, Eomer has almost been given permission to woo Lothiriel by Faramir when he was handed the key to the Royal garden.Even he wouldn't dream of doing that behind Imrahil's back....unless Lothiriel asked him too.Mmmm, I like the thought of that last scenario. Things are getting very interesting.I can't wait for the next chapter. Update soon. Ali.

Author's reply

I should think that the two of them - Imrahil and Faramir - have been working out how they can get E&L together!LBJ

Bodkin · 6 June 2006 · Chapter 11: The Threat

Nice bit of Eomer and Faramir here. And Faramir proves himself a Real Man and worthy of Eowyn. (At least, with Eomer smelling like a harlot's boudoir, he's in no position to debate anyone's masculinity!!). And Faramir has been advised to promote the Lothiriel / Eomer match? By whom, I wonder? Eowyn? Lothiriel, herself? Uncle Imrahil? No matter - the outcome can only be good! Perhaps Eomer needs his Gondorian etiquette advisor to point out that being given the key to a private garden probably makes betrothal inevitable.

Author's reply

It would be a good way of ensuring the knot is tied between Gondor and Rohan!LBJ

harrowcat · 5 June 2006 · Chapter 11: The Threat

Great chapter Lady Bluejay and wonderful man to man conversation. However I don't think we need to read it twice at one sitting! *g*

Author's reply

Hi, Thanks for the review and the information - I don't know what happened there. Hopefully sorted now.LBJ

MithLuin · 30 May 2006 · Chapter 10: The Tavern

This chapter was a lot of fun...I liked how he got a black eye ;). Also good to see how he and his friends are adjusting to his new status. Can't wait for more!

Author's reply

Friends are very important -he needs some relaxation, even if it means a black eye. LBJ

SimplegirlfromLP · 27 May 2006 · Chapter 9: The Ride

Lady Bluejay, I have read all your stories and have loved them. Eomer and Lothiriel have become my favorite characters. What a change for Eomer in this story to be the pursuer and not the prey. I like that "Love" and "Lust" have shaken him up a bit and that he now has to re-group and form a plan. Well keep writing I love to read your stories. SimplegirlfromLP

Bodkin · 27 May 2006 · Chapter 10: The Tavern

Well, I get the feeling that Lothiriel and Imrahil have not weakened to the demands of Lebennin. But Eomer will have to say something soon! Before he heads off back to Rohan, preferably. Hopefully, a nice energising tavern brawl will have cheered him up and given him a boost - and Eothain's insights into the working of Gondorian society might be encouragement enough for him actually to speak to the object of his dreams! Or her father. Whichever comes first. Perhaps Faramir came along a couple of minutes too early there. Unlike him - tact is his middle name. Fingers crossed the complications don't get too insuperable. Or Eomer will just have to abduct Lothiriel. I'm sure she could advise him on the best way to do it.

Author's reply

Your right - he has do do something - he's going home soon.Perhaps his luck will change and he will get a helping hand!LBJ

Alison H · 27 May 2006 · Chapter 10: The Tavern

Ha, this was an excellent chapter! Eothain and Aelfhere certainly keep Eomer's feet on the ground--when they're not getting him involved in a tavern brawl! The dialogue between the three outside the tavern was priceless.Eomer can't get Lothiriel out of his mind and it seems that his two friends not only watch him like a pair of predatory hawks but they have their own strong opinions about Lothiriel. No wonder Eomer loves their company for only true friends can speak so freely with him. They are priceless in their own way. I loved how you set up this chapter because it was slightly confusing at first.Eomer didn't want to face Lothiriel, for a number of reasons, but it turned out that he was only trying to hide his bruise, the 'war wound' he received from Aelfhere's crutch. That Lothiriel touched his face and consented to get salve for the bruise would have delighted Eothain and Aelfhere, that's for sure! They're convinced that Lothiriel is interested in Eomer so now it's up to Eomer to make his intentions known.Faramir just *had* to appear then and cut off Lothiriel's answer to his question---did she brush off Beren? Very enjoyable chapter,LBJ.I can't wait for more. Ali.

Author's reply

The black eye certainly helped. Yes, if they had known she would minister to him - they might have blacked the other also.LBJ

Larner · 26 May 2006 · Chapter 10: The Tavern

Yes, a good time was had by all, and Eomer was felled by "friendly fire." Hilarious! Now, you dolt--ASK her already! Enjoying this thoroughly.

Author's reply

Rest assured - he will get round to it!LBJ

Larner · 26 May 2006 · Chapter 9: The Ride

Now, there is a conversation for you! Am glad he wishes to marry for love and NOT just for advantage. Wise young man, Eomer of Rohan.

Adamas · 20 May 2006 · Chapter 9: The Ride

You are truly a very talented writer. I have enjoyed your stories, and you are my favorite Eomer/Loth writer. I find myself frequently re-reading your stories. I really enjoy the way you weave your story and hold your readers interest. This chapter was a real cliff hanger. I hope you don't leave us waiting to long. The thought of someone else asking for Lotherial hand before Eomer is terrible. Thank you for sharing your talent. You definately have my attention.

Author's reply

Hi, Thanks for your kind words. The two of them have my attention! We just do not know how it was between them - so good for the imagination. More up soon.LBJ

Alison H · 15 May 2006 · Chapter 9: The Ride

Well, Eomer's noble intentions are all well and good but I think his regret, if Lothiriel accepts a proposal from Beren, will be very hard to bear.He has to make a move and let her know that he wants her to be his partner in life, not just a Queen.Hurry, Eomer! I did laugh at Eomer's sauciness in making Lothiriel blush and he seems to have won over Erchirion, even after the wine incident! I think Eomer's going to be a little nervous when Lothriel meets with Beren and his father and no doubt Eowyn will take him to task about his hesitancy. I can't wait for the next chapter as I'm enjoying this story so much.Update soon! Ali.

Author's reply

He is a bit impulsive but he's only known her 2 days - quick even for him don't you think! Erchirion was just a bit dissapointed - he naturally wants his sister to marry his friend. But he likes Eomer and the wine thing is something he would do himself! I bet he could make a lot of ladies blush. Thanks for the review. LBJ

Bodkin · 15 May 2006 · Chapter 9: The Ride

"I will not have any woman forced to marry me against her inclinations.” Well, it's a noble thought - but perhaps you had better mention it to her! I doubt Lothiriel's psychic - and, if she doesn't know Eomer is strongly moved to make her his bride, she's not going to factor that into her thoughts! I doubt he would have to make a declaration just yet. He does make his mind up quickly, doesn't he! Faramir is a worthy brother-in-law and Lothiriel will make the perfect wife. All in twenty-four hours. Fortunately, he's right on both counts.

Author's reply

Let's hope somebody mentions it to her! Finding time alone with her would be a problem. He does make his mind up quickly: about Lothiriel and about Faramir. He is a warrior and has to think fast and also a warrior knows there is no time to waste in anything. Hesitate and it may be all over!LBJ

Bodkin · 7 May 2006 · Chapter 8: The Dance

A good dance. Seems as if Eomer is making decided progress - Lothiriel is as interested as he is. Three dances and a walk in the gardens - that's practically a declaration! Why don't they just take the whole of Minas Tirith on this morning ride though? Eomer will be very fortunate to get the time to speak to either Faramir or Lothiriel at this rate. They'll just have to find other opportunities. Still - at least he thinks he has Imrahil on his side. Paternal approval will definitely be a help - although brotherly protection might be a bit of a nuisance.

Author's reply

It may be two steps foward one step back. The trouble is he is just too principled. LBJ

Larner · 6 May 2006 · Chapter 8: The Dance

Aha, we do have difficulties finding privacy around the feast hall, don't we? And Merry and Pippin have stolen a tray full of food, have they? Again, the story grows in interest and pleasure. Now to see the two of these commit themselves to one another.

Author's reply

You may have to wait a bit - but not long, as he only has eight days. LBJ

Larner · 6 May 2006 · Chapter 7: The Feast

I love the details of the raids on the pie platter during Faramir's speech. How hilarious! And Imrahil's clothing must have been a sight to see with syllabub and fool all over it. Eomer did well at discouraging Erchirion and Beren, I must say. Very perceptive of him to realize how to convince them NOT to go along after all.
