Oh, I forgot to say that it's good news that Mrs. Goodbody will live.
Also, that's a good suggestion one of your reviewers of The Aftermath to explore what was going on before they woke. I hope you can do something with that.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
I plan on doing something of the sort, only I'm not sure how and where yet. But I'll put it in there for you and my other reviewer. I'm glad Mrs. Goodbody lived too. I wasn't sure for a while if she was going to or not. Thanks for reviewing, mellon nin!
God bless,
Ellie

I am lying at the foot of the couch with my head in Sam’s lap, as he absentmindedly straightens the tangles in my curls.
Still taking care of his dear... There's just something so sweet and loving about this. I think the only time Sam *wasn't* torn in two was this time when he had both halves of his heart at his side and could take care of both.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
*grins* I loved writing that part... Yes, indeed. Poor Sam, that he had to be without one half for so long.
God bless,

A relief. A mixed relief, true; but still a relief with no loss at the moment to add to those that went before.

Oh, wonderful! Mrs. Goodbody's going to live! She'll definitely have something to get used to though, and it's good that she'll have the children around her and that Ellis is so responsible. I love Ferdi, and so sweet that they named Ana after her mother. Of course Ellis couldn't hate her. She didn't intensionally kill her mother.
God bless,
Galadriel
Author's reply
Children always seem to lighten the mood, don't they? I love kids! Oh, I'm so glad you liked Ferdi, too! I didn't realize he was going to be in here until he knocked on the door, and suddenly I had a hobbit with no name, and I had to figure out who he was!! Thanks for reviewing!

Noooo! A cliff-hanger! Oh, but I guess I deserve it, don't I? *sighs* :)
I just love all this! Frodo telling the story was so moving. But he's becoming frighteningly good at hiding. Maybe Sam knows and just doesn't let on. I think that would kill me.
Love the bit about the mushroom! LOL! Sam does indeed know his Frodo well! :)
The party was great, too!
Oh, poor Ellis and his family! *hugs them* Amber is so sweet!
There's a lot of joy in these chapters, but Frodo's detachment is growing obvious now. *sniff*
God bless,
Galadriel
Author's reply
Lol! Yes, I think so. I'm still on the edge of that last cliff you threw at me. *pushes pen in your direction* Glad you liked these chapters! And glad you liked Amber too! *sniffs with you* I hate that it has to be that way, but that's the way it goes, I suppose...

But there are other wounds that no one can see that I have not, or will not, face, and I cannot go on with my life because of them.
Very interesting - realizing that perhaps it's his own unwillingness to face his pain that is keeping him from healing. You've made it that far, Frodo, now take a few more steps, dear - face the pain and start to release the hold it has over you.
Happy Thanksgiving, dear Elanor! I'm glad that today is a break from my fast so I can read this!
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Yeah, I've found some people are unwilling to face their problems in hopes that it won't hurt any more, but it only keeps hurting until they do face it. I've always found that thought fascinating...
Happy Thanksgiving, mellon nin!

Yes, some wounds never truly heal; and those who have such wounds get by as they can. There is strength in both these Hobbits, Frodo and Ellis--strength and the will to become more.
Author's reply
I'm glad you think so about Ellis! (Of course, we all know that about our Frodo!) I'm so glad Ellis is coming off so well, it's really difficult for me to add new characters to these stories! Thanks for reviewing!

Now, Frodo, you know Sam has known you and loved you for thirty years and you still think you can lie to him and have him not know you are? Or that you can get away with anything, even behind his back, and have him not know?
I did love that sneaking the mushroom and Sam knowing, but to try to lie earlier - our dear should know he can't get anything past his dear and he shouldn't even try!
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

He can't get anything past Sam, can he? Sam will be sure to see he gets what he needs, even if he won't tell Sam what that is. *smiles* Thanks for reviewing!

I'm so glad to see another chapter of this up! I actually prayed for this today, that I would see one and not only did my prayers get answered but I am doubly blessed by two chapters! :)
I know that was hard for Frodo to talk about - that took guts - but he has the comfort that he is still greatly loved and supported, despite his 'failure'.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Lol! Wow, that's cool! I love it when prayers are answered. Glad you like this chapter! I FINALLY have a new idea for this story! So there will probably be more up soon!

Thank you, dear! I have liked Ellis very much since I first thought of him, and I hope there will be very much more of him. At the moment I'm a little behind on writing, because of school, but I hope to have more out very soon! So glad you enjoyed!

I have the door opened and am in Sam’s arms almost before Rosie knows I’m there.
"He’s far more than a brother,” I reply quietly. “He’s my heart.”
I'm glad to see this continued, my dear! What love and it's nice to know he and Ellis understand each other. Maybe Ellis will get Frodo to understand that he *is* special, very special. (It's also nice in your other story that Faramir covered Frodo with his cloak, very sweet, another person who recognizes Frodo's 'quality').

I admire you very much for undertaking this, Ellie. I mean to do a long fic about Frodo's last days in the Shire sometime, but at this point, though I have lots of ideas, it's rather daunting.

I loved that part too! It is so true! (In fact, my friend and I stayed up till six in the morning for our party to celebrate the Birthday! We always act like Frodo(me) and Sam(her) so we were complaining that we couldn't ever get to sleep in Mordor, but it was really because we couldn't stop talking!) It might be a problem, I do believe you've given me another story idea, my dear! Poor Frodo indeed!
