Other than the idea that Frodo would go so low in the city so soon and be back so quickly while carrying a puppy does seem a bit quick. But love the idea that Halmir will have such a companion.
Author's reply
Sorry about that. Maybe Frodo is just faster and stronger than everyone thinks, eh? Besides, the puppy has gone without food for a while and it's still quite small. (I had Beagles, they are pretty tiny - at first) It wouldn't be too hard to carry one very far very fast. When the Hobbits go home, Halmir will need someone to cheer him up, hence the puppy. Hannon le!

Yes, Frodo would still be feeling a bit overwhelmed at times, I think. Love it that Frodo is willing to visit Halmir for Merry's sake.

Who wouldn't feel overwhelmed when basically the whole world is clamoring for your attention? Frodo is a good cousin and would do anything for his Merry. Hannon le and Namarie!

I'm bending the rules a bit, but couldn't resist. This chapter had me laughing like I haven't laughed in days! *contented sigh* And the end was just beautiful. Always hope, always hope. Thank you for that reminder, just when I needed it most. Eleven more days after today! Hooray! :) :) :) I am glad everyone else in this room is either total or under sleep shades, or they'd wonder what in the world I was grinning about! Thank you, dear!

I was wondering how that litlte rascal would work her way into the story. I'm glad you approve. Yes, Frodo's nervous. But, like you said, everything's under control, but that's only because Sam is there. I must go review *your* work now. Namarie, elu gwathel!

Oh, Thank you! I am so glad to be back! I did have a wonderful trip, but I am glad to be home. You know, I love travelling, as long as I have my home behind me as a foothold, something to come home to. Yes, Halmir gets a puppy. She...oops! You didn't hear that...:) is in memory of my puppy. We had to get rid of her. She was a Beagle. When we moved from the country to a neighborhood, she was already used to howling and hunting, so she had to go. I was pretty upset. So...yeah. She's dedicated to my Annie. Namarie!

Yes, Mount Doom is my nickname for such torture called "school" as well, but particularly math and chemistry and science...I love learning. If only I could pick what I learn...ah well. I have no choice in the matter. I will try to update ASAP, which might be like the end of June!! SOrry!! Namarie!

Hannon le! It's good to hear from you again. It grieves me to hear that you have been subject to such torture called 'Chemistry finals'. It truly is torture. I can't stand anything that has to do with math or science. I just don't get it. But I love Literature, history, language, and the like. That's beyond the point, forgive me. Are you *sure* you're happy Halmir is staying with the Hobbits?! Some interesting things are ahead! *Very* interesting! Lots of...well, you'll just have to wait and see! · Chapter 4: Many Merry Meetings
Oh, Frodo, I was *sooo* excited to see this update, and came to read it right away. But I got interrupted before I could review, so I had to wait till now. I just love the way you've done this meeting.
Sam blushed to a colour similar to that of roses.
Heehee! :) I'm one to talk, me, who blushes at everything and runs off when my brother comes this close when teasing about boys, but I just can't help laughing at this-so Sam!
"Well, you know what happens when you try to cook..."
"Peregrine Took! I can make lots of things!"
"Like?"
"I can make oatmeal biscuits, and chocolate chip biscuits and sugar biscuits and...I can make a nice pork chop dinner, with mashed potatoes; and scrambled
eggs for breakfast, and toast; and peanut butter biscuits and...and..."
"And the lad can’t live on biscuits alone!" Merry laughed.
"But Frodo," Pippin said, "Things...*happen* when you cook. Scary things! Like...exploding eggs...strange looking biscuits...or..."
"Now, now, we all know Mr. Frodo’s cooking has improved." Sam finished the argument before it could go any further.
Everyone was now laughing as the cousins bantered back and forth about Frodo’s culinary skills. Even Frodo was chuckling.
"Well, seriously, I think Halmir should stay with us. Goodness know there is enough room. What do you say, lads?" Frodo queried.
"I say that Sir Peregrine Took, Captain of the Citadel Guard, should gladly welcome Young Master Halmir into his home."
"His home? What about Sir Meriadoc Brandybuck, Holdwine of the Mark and Esquire to King Eomer? Does he have any say in the matter?"
"Forgive me, sir." Pippin bowed with a flourish. "What does Sir Meriadoc Brandybuck, Holdwine of the Mark and Esquire to King Eomer and future master of
Buckland say?"
Halmir giggled at the two Hobbits’s antics. He looked to Frodo, who only rolled his eyes and shook his head at his cousins.
*claps a hand over mouth to stifle a convulsing fit of hysterical laughter* Oh, oh, my goodness, Frodo, this is HILARIOUS!!! LOL! LOL! Especially the cooking! Biscuits, biscuits, biscuits! Goodness, Merry's right! LOL! Exploding eggs? Hmmm. Part of me wants to see that, because I didn't know it could happen, but I sure don't want to be the one responsible! The closest I'll come is to clean up the mess! :) It was so characteristic of Sam (who gave some of the cooking lessons, no doubt) to step right in and stop the arguing before it really got out of hand. And it was so sweet how they seemed to deliberately get all carried away just to make Halmir laugh. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think it was *all* on purpose by any means...LOL!
Oh, I so loved this chapter! But seriously now, you know, Frodo, you say I did most of this, but it's not true. Really. It started with an idea (which, if I remember rightly, was not mine, but that's another story), and we made a game of it; we weren't really serious. But you've taken our scrambled pile of story and are turning it into a wonderful masterpiece. This can't be easy, I know, and I admire you very much for taking it on and believing in it in spite of all the revisions that have to be made. You're doing a wonderful job.
God bless,
Galadriel
P.S. Good grief! Talk about a long review! Sorry.
Author's reply
*blushing and bowing at waist* Hannon le, Queen Galadriel! I don't feel that is appropriate, considering the praise you gave me. I don't deserve it, but I'm too tired to argue that right now.
Exploding eggs. WEll, maybe I should change that. I didn't mean "exploding", but I had to think of something with eggs. What I meant was scrambling eggs that are in batter. Actually, it was my cousin and sister who did that. They were making cookies, and they mixed the butter and eggs. Then they decided they wanted to put it in the microwave to soften the butter. When it came out, the eggs were scrambled. Gross!! I'm glad you liked the way Merry and Pippin carried on. I just thought it was so...so them! I had to add humour to the story and was very pleased with what I came up with, as I usually am so hopeless with humour.
And, seriously, Milady, all masterpieces must start with an idea. And the idea was so yours, and don't you dare deny it!! Our "scrambled pile of story" is my guideline, and it's rather easy and very fun. The problem is finding the time in which to do it. But...*bowing deeply at waist* hannon le for the compliment about admiring me for taking this on. You must know, that it is only a dim reflection of all you take on and all you do all the time. Hail, Queen of fanfiction!! LOL!!Namarie!
God Bless,

A victory fraught with grief--or so all believe now. But they have no idea that the Eagles who brought the word of victory also managed to find the lost two just in the nick of time, led by One whose vision is even clearer.
Author's reply
Yes, it certainly was led by the One who can see all things and knows all things. Hannon le for reviewing. The victory was fraught with grief - as most victories are. Hannon le, Elanor. Halmir really was fun to create with the High Lady. Considering this was posted and modified at twelve forty, I'm glad it turned out so well. Well, honestly, poor Professor Tolkein couldn't have said something about everybody at every moment. It would have been very tedious to read and write. That's where fanfic comes in handy. This story was awesome! It kept me intrigued throught the whole thing! I cant wait to hear the continuation of this incredible story. Its so cool how u include the "Presence" and "Eru". You could also feel like you were there. I was scared when they were just sitting on the edge of death. (Or so they thought.) The song was cool how u used it to show that the war was over and that they had won. The characther Halmir is so creative and how he and Marry were friends. I cant imagine the amount of research it took to write all this. (and how much it will take.) I respect this story. I GIVE IT A TEN STARS!!!!!!!
Author's reply
*bows deeply at waist* Hannon le, my king. It did take a lot of research, but I never could have done it without the help of Queen Galadriel. SHe is an excellent researcher (really just an excellent author and all that goes with that title). Halmir's character was fun to create. Beware, my cousin, for in future chapters, I think you may recognize some of the situations the Hobbits get themselves into. Cousins never grow up!!

Wow! Oh goodness, I know Frodo and Sam won through and didn't make the ultimate sacrifice, but you know what? I'm sitting here just as tense as a bowstring, and was on the verge of tears all through this chapter. This is so amazing and exciting! All that planning and it's finally taking some kind of permanent form!
"The hour of Darkness has come, child. Do now as you wish with what time you have left."
Oh my goodness if that doesn't chill the heart! How'd you come up with that as a reason for Miriel being let off? It's a *good* one!
You do Merry's POV excellently, and I love how you show the friendship between him and Halmir. There's obviously a lot of affection there, as shown by the nickname "Mer." So sweet! :) And I love this:
"Well, Frodo...Frodo is very brave. He’s always been quite solemn for a Hobbit. He was that way since his parents died before I was born, but before the
Quest, he laughed a lot more often. His laughter was so contagious. He...he laughed very little on the Quest. It changed him, you know. He was very sad
when he lost his parents, of course, and he went through periods of depression, but on the Quest, he..he was so sad. Always tired, but always straining,
fighting the Voice of the Ring. Oh, Frodo...you were such a wonderful cousin...and..."Merry’s voice trailed off. A tear left his eyes as they gazed out
the window towards Mount Doom.
*hugs Merry*
Now I'm off to send you the e-mail you've so often imagined...:)

*blushing* Well, hannon le, my dear! I...I didn't know exactly how this was going to begin, and I certainly hadn't imagined this, but I'm pleased with it. I hope you are, as well. So you think my reason for Miriel being let off was good? LOL!! Well, considering the conversation we had about healers, and talking about how busy they must have been, I was pretty desperate.
