Larner · 22 August 2006 · Chapter 13: Change: Blossom (A. only)

Yes, the one treasure he has ever wanted for his own is at last on its way. And it is about time at that! Love seeing Aragorn finally anticipating that joy.

Larner · 22 August 2006 · Chapter 14: Silence: Deafening Silence of the Dark (A. + Legolas)

Yes--just perfect expression of that fell moment.

Larner · 22 August 2006 · Chapter 15: Horses: The Horse of the Lady (A. + Arwen + horses)

Oh, a lovely reason to name Roheryn as he did. Wonderful!

Larner · 22 August 2006 · Chapter 16: Trust: Finding Rest (A. + Frodo + Sam)

No. no more doubts. Dear Sam.

Larner · 21 August 2006 · Chapter 17: Fight: An Average Day (A. + Halbarad + Dunedain + Enemies)

As would most forced into the warrior's life who'd rather raise their families in peace.

Larner · 21 August 2006 · Chapter 18: Shortcut: Through Emyn Muil (A. + Gandalf)

"Shortcuts make for long delays." I'm certain I heard or read that somewhere, once upon a time.... Heh! Lovely!

Author's reply

Oh, I have heard of that quotation before! And it is completely and utterly true. Shortcuts lead to the longest delays... I know that from family outings *g*

shirebound · 21 August 2006 · Chapter 18: Shortcut: Through Emyn Muil (A. + Gandalf)

How rare for that barren land to hear the sound of laughter! :D

Bodkin · 11 August 2006 · Chapter 17: Fight: An Average Day (A. + Halbarad + Dunedain + Enemies)

The odds are not on surviving too many average days like that. And when you compare the number of orcs to the number of Rangers, it's only surprising that there were any to follow Aragorn south!

Author's reply

Hmm, yes; good thing that the Rangers are much better fighters in most cases!

meckinock · 10 August 2006 · Chapter 17: Fight: An Average Day (A. + Halbarad + Dunedain + Enemies)

The threat of the shadow must have seemed ever-present, while they could only dream of having peace and security someday. What an impossible dream it must have seemed at times. Very thought-provoking, Suvi.

Author's reply

Thanks, meckinock. I'm pretty sure I could never survive that myself, which makes the Dunedain even more admirable. Thanks for the review.

shirebound · 10 August 2006 · Chapter 17: Fight: An Average Day (A. + Halbarad + Dunedain + Enemies)

That's a very interesting conversation. Aragorn spent so many years just traveling, fighting, and thinking... It's amazing he was as patient as he was with the slow passage of the years, when nothing *did* seem to be changing for the better.

Author's reply

Yea, I myself would have never been able to do it. That is one quality of Aragorn that I really admire, the fact that he never gave up.

RS · 6 July 2006 · Chapter 16: Trust: Finding Rest (A. + Frodo + Sam)

You had no problem there with Sam! Excellent. Strider was great also! A wonderful moment with Sam and Strider.

Bodkin · 4 July 2006 · Chapter 16: Trust: Finding Rest (A. + Frodo + Sam)

Earning Sam's trust was undoubtedly the most difficult - and probably, therefore, it would be the most warming. You know you've cracked it if you have Sam letting you look after Frodo.

shirebound · 3 July 2006 · Chapter 16: Trust: Finding Rest (A. + Frodo + Sam)

That's a wonderful fill-in scene. I can imagine it all happening just that way. :D

Elflingimp · 3 July 2006 · Chapter 16: Trust: Finding Rest (A. + Frodo + Sam)

You did Sam quite well ,sweet and honest to the bone he is!

shirebound · 1 July 2006 · Chapter 15: Horses: The Horse of the Lady (A. + Arwen + horses)

Lovely scene. You're right, there aren't enough of these "little moments"! And I love how the horse is getting used to Estel at the same time Estel is getting used to the horse. :D

harrowcat · 1 July 2006 · Chapter 15: Horses: The Horse of the Lady (A. + Arwen + horses)

Why are you unhappy with the ending? Seems fine to me. Nice to see these two together in Rivendell.

Amy · 1 July 2006 · Chapter 15: Horses: The Horse of the Lady (A. + Arwen + horses)

Oh, lovely! I adore fics about how Arwen gave rough-haired Roheryn to Aragorn. Playful!Arwen giving such an important companion to smiling!Aragorn is a great storyline. Horses enhance the romance somehow, don't they?

RS · 1 July 2006 · Chapter 15: Horses: The Horse of the Lady (A. + Arwen + horses)

Sigh! I don't know why but I think this is so romantic. I just love anything that has to do with Arwen and Aragorn. Their interaction is just so lovely. No plot, nothing going on, but there is still something there that just makes this interesting. It just made me smile. By the way... what does Roheryn mean?

grumpy · 24 June 2006 · Chapter 14: Silence: Deafening Silence of the Dark (A. + Legolas)

Nothing like having a bunch of dead guys following you. I like that part about Aragorn trying not to show any fear.

Author's reply

Yea, he had to keep up his calm and brave facade for all that followed him; his men and the dead too, I would imagine. Thanks for reviewing!

Bodkin · 23 June 2006 · Chapter 14: Silence: Deafening Silence of the Dark (A. + Legolas)

Very uncomfortable. Even for the immortal - although he prefers not to admit it!

Author's reply

Oh yes, you know those immortals- always trying to look calm and well in all situations ;)

Elflingimp · 21 June 2006 · Chapter 14: Silence: Deafening Silence of the Dark (A. + Legolas)

EEEEE!!!!!!!! That even gave me the creeps.

Author's reply

LOL, thank you so much ^^

harrowcat · 21 June 2006 · Chapter 14: Silence: Deafening Silence of the Dark (A. + Legolas)

Wow that is powerful writing for such a small piece. I would love to see more of the ride written in a similar vein.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! The Paths of the Dead has always been a favorite of mine, and I always wished Tolkien had written more on it himself.

Bodkin · 18 June 2006 · Chapter 13: Change: Blossom (A. only)

That must have been a very special moment of promise for Aragorn. He had been waiting so long and achieved so much ... and now his reward was on her way.

Author's reply

Yea, he definitely deserved her after so much waiting and struggle. Thanks for the review! :)

grumpy · 17 June 2006 · Chapter 13: Change: Blossom (A. only)

Good one of Aragorn and the white tree. It must have been hard for him the wait for Arwen to arive.

Author's reply

I do wonder if the last few days were harder than the last few decades... I imagine that the days must have passed slowly!

RS · 17 June 2006 · Chapter 13: Change: Blossom (A. only)

And a great big smile (I;m sure) it was. A lovely moment for Aragorn. Such anticipation!

Author's reply

Oh yes, especially since the poor man has been waiting for a good few decades! Thanks for the review :)
