shirebound · 3 December 2006 · Chapter 23: Stranger: The Stranger in the Corner (A. + hobbits)

I think this is one of your best pieces, Suvi. You wonderfully evoke Aragorn's 'apartness'; as well as his patience, power, hopes, and persona.

Author's reply

Thank you very, very much, shirebound. I am very happy that you think so :)

Bodkin · 30 October 2006 · Chapter 22: Water: Fire and Water (A. + OC + Enemies)

I like the last line - it relates the defeat of the Corsairs with Thorongil's later adventure and puts the two together.

Author's reply

Thank you! It wasn't originally planned, but I thought it fit well. Glad you liked it.

meckinock · 29 October 2006 · Chapter 22: Water: Fire and Water (A. + OC + Enemies)

Very nice, Suvi! I like how Thorongil inspired confidence in the men.

Author's reply

Thanks. Yea, Thorongil definitely is the kind of guy to put confidence in people, which is extremely admirable.

Larner · 29 October 2006 · Chapter 22: Water: Fire and Water (A. + OC + Enemies)

Very well done, although I see what you mean about the ending. A problem of wording in the first sentence of paragraph four, but otherwise well done indeed.

Author's reply

Yea, I see what you mean, now that I look back at it. I may edit it one of these days. XD Thanks for all of your reviews. <3

Larner · 29 October 2006 · Chapter 21: Home: Thoughts of Home (A. + hobbits)

And by the time he finally gets that home he most certainly deserves it. Yes, a home for the one who WILL be king.

Larner · 29 October 2006 · Chapter 20: Comfort: Lazy Days (A. only)

Oh, so VERY perfect for our favorite Dunedan! Yes, he deserves many more such days. Bless him indeed.

Amy · 29 October 2006 · Chapter 22: Water: Fire and Water (A. + OC + Enemies)

Lovely! You made me feel as nervous as the crew about the pending attack. *hearts Thorongil fics*

Author's reply

Aw, thanks. Yea, Thorongil fics are excellent, but so hard to come by. I love them as well.

shirebound · 15 September 2006 · Chapter 21: Home: Thoughts of Home (A. + hobbits)

Poor Aragorn really had no home, did he? Unless you want to count all of Middle-earth.

Author's reply

No, he didn't. I can't imagine how hard life would be.

harrowcat · 11 September 2006 · Chapter 20: Comfort: Lazy Days (A. only)

Lazy day? I wish! Lucky Aragorn!

Author's reply

Oh, I know! Lazy days in this life come too few and far in between. If only we could be as lucky as him ;)

grumpy · 10 September 2006 · Chapter 20: Comfort: Lazy Days (A. only)

Ah to be resting outdoors on a sunny day, that is the life. I think Aragorn and Gondor have worked hard for this day.

Author's reply

That's all I want to do right now- relax. After a bit of hard work, just to sit under a tree and have no worries :)

meckinock · 9 September 2006 · Chapter 20: Comfort: Lazy Days (A. only)

I like the image of Elessar dozing under a tree. He certainly deserved it!

Author's reply

He completely deserves it. As fun as it is to see him struggle, seeing him relax can be just as nice ^^

RS · 9 September 2006 · Chapter 20: Comfort: Lazy Days (A. only)

"Move over Aragorn and make room for me under the shade!" Very relaxing! The mood is so contagious that I am going to go outside and enjoy the sun (under a shady tree of course!). It's nice to see Aragorn just relaxing and having no worries. What a delight!

Author's reply

I hope you enjoyed it under the shade. :) And, as much as I like to see him struggle, I do think that Aragorn deserves some well-deserved rest.

shirebound · 9 September 2006 · Chapter 20: Comfort: Lazy Days (A. only)

What a gentle, relaxing scene. Makes me want to go snooze under a tree! :D

Author's reply

Oh, I was definitely feeling lazy after reading this ^^

Periantari · 9 September 2006 · Chapter 11: Hair: Soon (A. + Arathorn + Gilraen)

What a poignant little ficlet. :*(

Author's reply

Yea. I love Gilraen. Poor her :(

Periantari · 9 September 2006 · Chapter 16: Trust: Finding Rest (A. + Frodo + Sam)

awww Sam and Strider moment! i really liked the interaction you had between them. This is a great gap-filler to what might've happen since as you wrote as your last quote--Sam didn't really trust Strider at first. Very nice job. And i think i like your Sam. :)

Author's reply

Aw, thank you, Peri ^^ Gap-fillers are definitely lots of fun to work with... and Sam is such a challenging character, so I liked trying him out ^^

fiona · 6 September 2006 · Chapter 19: Mirror: Heirlooms (A. only)

....but LEGOLAS!! sorry these are very nice... but... LEGOLAS!!

Author's reply

*snort* Legolas is an interesting character at times, but not one of my favorites, and canonically, there is no proof that he even met Aragorn before FOTR ^^ So, yea, I tend to focus on people who were most certainly there :)

Larner · 31 August 2006 · Chapter 19: Mirror: Heirlooms (A. only)

A lovely look at that moment, and very well written--I think the best I've read so far.

Author's reply

Wow, quite a compliment! Thank you so much!

meckinock · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 19: Mirror: Heirlooms (A. only)

I loved his examination of the Ring of Barahir, his wonderment at it, and how he was looking at himself in the mirror, waiting to feel different. It was a lot to absorb. I'm smiling because you have him bounce back from it quickly, though; which we can guess he manages to do by the time he wanders out to stumble into Arwen.

Author's reply

*grins* Every young man I know tends to bounce back quickly after something, and I could not but help Aragorn doing the same thing. And he was certainly the happiest man alive when he stumbled upon Arwen, so it just seemed logical. Anyways, thanks for reviewing ^^

SurgicalSteel · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 19: Mirror: Heirlooms (A. only)

I liked this - the wondering why he doesn't feel somehow different now he knows his heritage. I remember having that feeling just after graduating from med school - thinking that I should somehow feel or look different or *something*. Very nicely done.

Author's reply

Yea, after a few big events in your life, it just astounds you when the world just goes on as normal. I have had a couple life-changing events, and I always wondered why I didn't feel any different after them, and why everything seemed so... normal. Anyways, thanks for the review. ^^

shirebound · 30 August 2006 · Chapter 19: Mirror: Heirlooms (A. only)

That's a sweet scene. Aragorn is already realizing that *patience* is what he'll need most in the years to come. :D

Author's reply

*twitch* Patience, indeed! A hard realization to come upon for many among the youth *grin*

meckinock · 22 August 2006 · Chapter 18: Shortcut: Through Emyn Muil (A. + Gandalf)

I love to see Gandalf and Aragorn together. This is really sweet.

Author's reply

Yea, I love it, myself. It is seen much too rarely in fan fiction.

Larner · 22 August 2006 · Chapter 9: Experience: Deep Thoughts (A. + Halbarad)

So many difficult decisions Aragorn needed to make, from the decision as to whether to follow Frodo's trail or the orcs', whether to face the old man.... A worthy Man, and deserving of his cousin's trust.

Author's reply

My, you left many reviews! Thank you for each review; they are all appreciated. :)

Larner · 22 August 2006 · Chapter 10: Magic: Hands of a Healer (A. + OCs)

One of the healings that hadn't been described by Tolkien, but definitely the King's own innate magic. Well done indeed.

Larner · 22 August 2006 · Chapter 11: Hair: Soon (A. + Arathorn + Gilraen)

Arathorn's son indeed, and the loving thoughts engendered by the sight of him. Her hope she gave to the Dunedain....

Larner · 22 August 2006 · Chapter 12: Time: Forest of Neldoreth (A. + Arwen)

Ooh, yes! Exactly the right words, the right feel.
