Linda Hoyland · 21 November 2008 · Chapter 56: Abandoned: Kitten (A. + OC)

What a delightful story! I can just imagine Aragorn's daughter like this. She has a lot of "strider" in her.

Estelcontar · 20 November 2008 · Chapter 56: Abandoned: Kitten (A. + OC)

What a delightful vignette, Lairë. Your Eleniel is a most engaging character. I see she is not only blessed with great imagination but has also inherited Aragorn's kindness, compassionateness, and his propensity for adventure. A true Ranger's daughter and her father's child indeed.

inzilbeth · 20 November 2008 · Chapter 56: Abandoned: Kitten (A. + OC)

It's good to see the king's legendary compassion being extended to his daughter as well as animals. A very well told tale, Laire.

Elflingimp · 20 November 2008 · Chapter 56: Abandoned: Kitten (A. + OC)

Awwwwwwww......that was so very sweet, I believe I have found a few of those kittens in my childhood also. Hugs The Imp

shirebound · 20 November 2008 · Chapter 56: Abandoned: Kitten (A. + OC)

"It is how a child speaks to one's parent when the elder is angry in the old tales," Eleniel pointed out. What a dear girl! And such a compassionate heart.

Estelcontar · 17 November 2008 · Chapter 55: Temper: Toys (A. + Eldarion + OC)

Very lifelike indeed. Aragorn's children should be happy that they have such a wise and caring person for a father.

Author's reply

I think they'll appreciate it more when they are older. *g* Thanks for the review, as always.

Nefhiriel · 17 November 2008 · Chapter 55: Temper: Toys (A. + Eldarion + OC)

Cute, Laire! Love to see Aragorn, King AND father--and I'm sure he would've been a good enforcer like this. XD You'll appreciate it someday, kids... =P - Nef

Author's reply

Neffy! :D I love to imagine Aragorn as a father. Frankly put, I cannot but help imagine a combination of my mum and dad in father!Aragorn. And no kids for me, thanks! :P

Linda Hoyland · 17 November 2008 · Chapter 55: Temper: Toys (A. + Eldarion + OC)

This is very realistic.Poor Aragorn! Even a King has children with temper tantrums!

Author's reply

Of course; children will be children, after all! *g*

Larner · 16 November 2008 · Chapter 55: Temper: Toys (A. + Eldarion + OC)

Oh, we've ALL been through this fight, and many of us from both the participants and parents' side! I know I have! So very true to life.

Author's reply

True to life, indeed- even life in Middle-earth, though Tolkien shows little of it.

harrowcat · 16 November 2008 · Chapter 55: Temper: Toys (A. + Eldarion + OC)

Oh this sounds so very familiar - Well done!

Author's reply

It was certainly the familiarity that created it. Thank you!

demeter d · 16 November 2008 · Chapter 55: Temper: Toys (A. + Eldarion + OC)

Oh, dear! Anyone who ever had siblings or cousins has heard this before! That is an idea I never thought of before. Tolkien just said "Eldarion and daughters". He did not mention how many daughters, or when they were born. Twins run in Arwen's family. Why not as likely boy-girl twins, as identical girls?

Author's reply

I do not completely remember when the twin for Eldarion idea came, but I think it came when I originally created Eleniel back in 2005/2006. Her name was the first thing created about her (unlike most of the rest of my OCs). I remembered all the other twins- Elurid and Elurin, Elros and Elrond, Elladan and Elrohir- and it just seemed to fit that the "El" daughter would be a twin of Eldarion. And so it remained. :D

Larner · 16 November 2008 · Chapter 54: Friendship: A New Name (A. + Bilbo)

Ah! The inspiration for the Riddle of Aragorn! Not all that is gold does glitter.... And Bilbo, sagacious Hobbit that he is, has put it together. Bless them both, Man and Hobbit!

Author's reply

Bless them indeed! I love Bilbo, and I love thinking about his interactions with Aragorn. I wish Tolkien had done a bit more on the two; the snippet we see is just wonderful.

Estelcontar · 14 November 2008 · Chapter 54: Friendship: A New Name (A. + Bilbo)

So, that's how the famous poem got to be written - a very engaging version indeed. '"Oh my. You have quite an interesting ancestry, my lad."' That must be the understatement of the year, and very Bilboish too.

Author's reply

LOL, it is, isn't it? Bilbo does tend to make offhand comments like that though, eh? :)

Elflingimp · 13 November 2008 · Chapter 54: Friendship: A New Name (A. + Bilbo)

Well I bet I could guess what poem that will be! Hugs The Imp

Author's reply

Oh, I couldn't begin to imagine what poem ;) Thanks for reviewing.

meckinock · 13 November 2008 · Chapter 54: Friendship: A New Name (A. + Bilbo)

What a nice Aragorn - Bilbo interaction, and a nice take on Bilbo's inspiration for his famous verse.

Author's reply

Hello meckinock! I'll admit it was a joy writing Bilbo; I have completely fallen in love for the old hobbit.

shirebound · 13 November 2008 · Chapter 54: Friendship: A New Name (A. + Bilbo)

He had something very special in his hands indeed! I like how thoughtfully Aragorn gives Bilbo the trust he's earned, and a secret he know will be kept.

Author's reply

Thank you, Shirebound. I don't think Bilbo would have known about Aragorn if he didn't trust the hobbit- and Bilbo is a trustworthy sort!

Estelcontar · 11 November 2008 · Chapter 53: Buildings: It is Large (A. only)

The first impression of Minas Tirith must have been overwhelming if it left him that speechless. Well done

Larner · 11 November 2008 · Chapter 53: Buildings: It is Large (A. only)

It does sound so simplistic and inane when answered like that! Poor Aragorn--and seeing in stone the history of his people within Middle Earth for the first time. Large, overpowering, old.... And he will be the one to renew it, when the time is right! Very nice!

harrowcat · 10 November 2008 · Chapter 53: Buildings: It is Large (A. only)

Yes.. well... even the most peotic can't be poetic all the time! :)

6336 · 10 November 2008 · Chapter 53: Buildings: It is Large (A. only)

Well, he's right, it is large! More please, Lynda

Linda Hoyland · 10 November 2008 · Chapter 51: Cold: Merendis (A. + OC)

I enjoyed this as it is so rare we get to see Aragorn meeting a paternal relative. It seems she has foresight too.

Linda Hoyland · 10 November 2008 · Chapter 50: Surprise: The Unexpected (A. + Elladan + Elrohir)

A very touching story.I'm glad the twins still love our favourite Ranger!

Linda Hoyland · 10 November 2008 · Chapter 52: Wine: Loose Tongues (A. + Bilbo + Elladan + Elrohir)

I enjoyed this very much

Larner · 9 November 2008 · Chapter 52: Wine: Loose Tongues (A. + Bilbo + Elladan + Elrohir)

Ah, yes--friendship deepens between resident Hobbit and resident Dunadan! Heh!

Estelcontar · 8 November 2008 · Chapter 52: Wine: Loose Tongues (A. + Bilbo + Elladan + Elrohir)

I see that Elladan and Elrohir did Aragorn proud. I do hope we get to know more about the birthday celebration, and I can't wait to see what Bilbo will learn from Aragorn in the morning.
