Fimbrethil · 16 June 2025 · Chapter 99: Descendants

Cool, but only annually? …I suppose Celebrían is waiting in the West.

Fimbrethil · 16 June 2025 · Chapter 98: I Shall NOT be Supplanted!

It was another, a distant relative, who took my mother into his home and saw me raised among his own sons, and who saw me trained to serve as I can.” “You would stand to inherit from him when he dies?” “There is no question that his sons are legitimate and much older than I. No—I look to inherit nothing from him. I have no claim to anything that is his save the love he gave me for the sake of my fathers. As I said, we are kinsman from afar.” —The Understatement of the Year! And he does have a claim on his daughter! Ecthelion having foresight? Denethor not looking at his book again?

Fimbrethil · 16 June 2025 · Chapter 97: No Abandonment this Time

Rather true—though was not Arwen full grown by the time Celebrían left? * Yea, Arwen was at least 2000.

Fimbrethil · 16 June 2025 · Chapter 95: Inaccessible

Ahhhh…for a second I thought it was going to by Eldarion’s grandparents. Nice bit about Earendil being as far as the stars.

Fimbrethil · 16 June 2025 · Chapter 93: Perhaps Not the Best Mealtime Conversation

Yes he will! Reminds me of another story here, where the sons of Elrond and Aragorn recount their fights against orcs in detail while eating. What will Imrahil do now?

Fimbrethil · 16 June 2025 · Chapter 91: Celeborn's Thoughts

Awwww…sweet and bittersweet. Nice to see a Celeborn and children of Arwen story. Not to mention, surely the three-youngest-most-mischievous-male-Elves-in-Middle-Earth! …Though maybe Legolas not as much, and perhaps now that the Sons of Elrond are uncles they have gained wisdom!

Fimbrethil · 16 June 2025 · Chapter 89: Little Brothers

haha! What a surprise at the end!

Fimbrethil · 15 June 2025 · Chapter 84: Shagrat's Welcome

hoho!

Fimbrethil · 15 June 2025 · Chapter 81: A Choice of Life or Death

Interesting, this is. And Hobbits! Hobbits who are helping the king. It is a shame they lost to Angmar—though the Heir of Isildur survived, so I suppose that is enough. And there are no Shield-maidens nor sword-thanes in Eriador!

Fimbrethil · 15 June 2025 · Chapter 77: Notice of Eviction

UH OH! And this all starting even before the real War of the Ring! Before the sons of the king of Rohan and the Steward of Gondor are killed! Before Théoden and Denethor themselves are no more! And the Fellowship idles away January in Lorien! —though I suppose they needed it. But that while THIS could have been happening in The Shire! *Though I suppose Strider and the hobbits realized something was going on way back in October in Bree.

Fimbrethil · 15 June 2025 · Chapter 71: Questioning

WOW. OH MY. Every so often I wonder what this scene would be like. This is very nearly it. Interesting as a script format.

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 59: Counselors

Wow. [PS aside: I accidentally typed woe instead of wow, which would not have given the right impression—unless I mean woe to those who are left after they sail who will lack their knowledge.]

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 58: The Thoughts of the Servant of the Secret Flame

Oh, I forgot to mention I liked that his doom comes nearer at a gallop. Yes, Éowyn, Merry! ….though he shouldn’t feel too bad, because he causes the death of Théoden and presumably others, and dearly hurts others and their family members, such as Faramir, Éowyn, Merry, Éomer, etc. It’s a good thing Aragorn comes, as I mention in my own story. Though that gives me an idea: what if Aragorn comes and confronts Angmar (before the latter is killed, or imagine for a second he can be killed by men, or at least the king.) What would happen next?

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 58: The Thoughts of the Servant of the Secret Flame

Wow. First off, until about the second paragraph, I didn’t realize it was Gandalf—which is ok! Secondly, the wording is great! I suppose Gandalf and Sauron are both Maia, which would make them brothers. Interesting to think about. …just ponder what would have happened if Boromir and Faramir got into a similar situation—or even more similar, as I suspect they were born/created at the same time, Elladan and Elrohir. “Manwë himself appointed me to counter your Master, my own brother, even as he countered the Master of your Master, who was his brother in the thought of the Creator. Your own Death is come--at last.” Also what a Gandalf sentence.

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 57: Star Daughter

Awwwww even though knowing what Arwen will do and what will happen to them all. Sweet.

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 56: The Game Lost

Oh! How did Amandil get there? Hmmmm where did he go? I read he had gone to Aman for Aid before Pharazôn sailed. And when Elendil and his ships left and floundered, waves came and delivered them to M.E. And I always thought Pharazôn and Co. drowned…but if it was more than that….is plausible.

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 54: Summoning the Grey Company

Halbarad accepted it. “It is said, should he who first bears the King’s standard fall, yet the battle will be won.” He inhaled, met her eyes. “For his sake, and yours--I would do so gladly.” Halbarad! Why do you have to have so much foresight??!!

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 52: Concerns Voiced

OH. …and the whole Downfall is now Amandil’s fault.

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 49: A Proposal of Renewal

Oh! Oh! …And what do Aragorn and Éomer think of this proposal? And it just occurred to me that Gimli was Lord of Aglarond even after the death of Éomer. Perhaps he also became great friends with Elfwine, and his son as named in another fic (in this collection), Théodred, as well.

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 45: First Victory!

Awwwww…what did Arwen think about it? What did Éowyn think? What did Faramir think? Did they let Elessar leave before they started congratulating his son? Were they his friends, or fellow guardsmen? What a great story! I was just in the mood for Eldarion!

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 44: On the Naming of Twins

Awwww! Though it is interesting they seem to have reactions near to Elrond and Elros themselves.

Fimbrethil · 3 June 2025 · Chapter 41: No Going Back

So they find the remains of Isildur? That would explain his grandmother’s treasure. Also the reason she has it makes her seem much nicer than I had thought. Is that other ring a random ring of Gondor? And oh, if Saruman’s servants came and made off with the Elendilmir and that other ring etc., that would explain how Aragorn and Gimli found them in Isengard.

Fimbrethil · 2 June 2025 · Chapter 36: The Pain of Remembrance

Oh! If that is why Elros chose to be a Man, I understand. But also there are other reasons…

Fimbrethil · 1 June 2025 · Chapter 35: Escort

Heehee…I have never read a fic where Aragorn comes to Rivendell as king on behest of his brothers, but in my story he might. Nor have a read about a son of Merry, at least not one so involved.

Fimbrethil · 1 June 2025 · Chapter 34: Wounds from the Enemy

oh dear! I am glad the scars worked against Sauron. Oh Elender, that you died with your father…and brothers, save Valandil. That Elendur resembles Elros, is that good or bad? Oh Valandil, that they never returned to you. Your family became like that of Aragorn son of Arthorn…though worse because they were farther away and you had not heard from them, and more people were killed.
