· Chapter 33: Argument and Anticipation
heehee…except for Denethor of course. Poor horses, and Faramir.
Boy was I surprised when it was revealed the hobbits were still in the guesthouse! But there evening does sound fun, relaxing, and much better than councils!
But what of Arwen and Éowyn? Are they here?

“for I have little experience with the magics that were twisted by Morgoth’s lackey when he first sought to construct Morgul blades.”
What a phrase. I mean, that is what Sauron was, but also how it is worded!

· Chapter 25: For the Want of ...
Awwwww….To read of this time about Faramir…and the funny parts of Aragorn’s letter.—I am not sure why they were there, but I liked them.
Was the guard who Faramir asked for juice Beregond? Or had Beregond already left?
I am surprised he didn’t see Éowyn, though that the study’s walls were painted green I can well imagine.

· Chapter 23: Embassy to a New Age
That was me, sorry I forgot the name. And to see all the descendent’s: Théodred (that Elfwine named his son that was a nice touch concerning the Rohirrim, Barahir son of Elboron, etc. At least they seem to be friends with the much older Eldarion.
Just think of those fics where sometimes Eldarion marries a daughter of Faramir, or his son marries one of Eldarion’s sisters…then they would be sadder, and more related (to Éomer, too), which would be weird.

Awww so sad. But it was rather hilarious to see them finally realize Eldarion was king.

· Chapter 19: Symbols of Love
heehee…you know how this could get even better? With Elfwine and Éomer of course! Maybe even Éowyn…though I suppose Éomer shouldn’t know where Henneth Anún is, even if he is brother-in-law with the Steward. Maybe just Elfwine comes, then, and he may forget where it is later.

Wow, pretty good! I was started by the gap in time between verses 3 and 4, I think. From Isildur getting the Ring, to losing It in the next verse.

· Chapter 15: I Stand No More Alone
Oh! Wow! Wow! This was GREAT! EPIC, even, somehow. The occasional perspective from a nonsentient object such as a flag or in this case a chair—now that I have said flag I am wondering about a scene such as this from the perspective of Arwen’s banner raised over the City for the first time? And maybe even also from the White banner, for the last time. I should write these: the lowering of the crown and stars when Earnur never returned, the raising of the badge of the Stewards for the first time, and it’s final lowering and the return of the crown and stars. Although Tolkien mentioned the last, he didn’t write it from the Banner’s perspective…
I repeat wow. And the fact that Aragorn paused and looked down at the throne. Yes, I suppose Narsil IS older than that throne. Didn’t Narsil itself come out of Gondolin?

That last was me, forgot to add the name, and I also don’t think I have read how they decided this before. And Ecthelion’s portrait—nice touch.

· Chapter 14: To Protect and Preserve
“Between the glare from Halladan’s envoy and the set gaze of their King, the Man sat back, now aware his drawing of attention away from Erador’s report had not been well accepted. Even Faramir was looking at him most consideringly, his expression unreadable. He realized he’d best remain quiet for the remainder of the meeting of the Council if he intended to retain his seat--the Lord Elessar had already removed more than one minor lord of the realm who’d failed to do well by his lands and peoples, and probably wouldn’t hold back at doing so with a more major lord as well, given sufficient provocation.”
heehee
Interesting story for an event not usually depicted. Nice hearing from Elfhelm and Elphir.

This is more of a side note but I see this Lothíriel is akin to film Faramir, with auburn hair.

· Chapter 7: Word of Resignation
Oh! Oh! What feelings! I don’t think I have read a detailed description of Thorongil’s leave of Gondor before, and certainly not one in which one of the sons of Elrond calls him home.
Yes, Thorongil will return, the people will except the heir of Isildur. I am glad that Denethor would have now, even if not then. But perhaps if he still lived after Sauron was defeated, and even more so if Finduilas had lived longer, and he had recovered from the action-affecting grief caused by the war, he may accept Aragorn Thorongil as king in 3019.

This almost, /almost/, makes me kind of ok with the Tauriel/Kili thing. Still not within the context of The Hobbit, but elsewhere within middle earth I can see an elf/dwarf coupling mirroring that of Yavanna and Alue.

· Chapter 63: New Birth
I love this story! I think it's neat that Yavanna had the idea that God (or Eru, as He was called in Middle-earth) should create hobbits, and that they should become her own special charges as the Ents already are.
You know, I have already copied this story onto a Word document to save on my computer. In the process, I took the liberty of capitalizing the first letter of every pronoun in your story pertaining to Eru that you didn't already capitalize. Is that all right?

· Chapter 98: I Shall NOT be Supplanted!
Elena Tiriel pointed me to this story, and I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it. I thought the political complexity of the situation and the manoeuvring was handled with real and convincing depth, and I loved the sudden shifting perspective for the reader as they figure out what's really going on. Everybody came across as extremely smart and capable here--but oh my heart aches for poor Denethor.... Great story!
Author's reply
I am so very glad that it moved you so, Tanaqui. I feel sorry for Denethor, thinking that his father might have preferred the mercenary to himself. And to explore how that feeling might have come to be--that is interesting, as you know.
And I'm so glad you commented on this. I've so enjoyed so much that you've written, after all!

· Chapter 100: The Crafting of the Seeing-stones
An interesting story and a cute reason for the original creation of the Stones and of course the little ones would use them to spy on their siblings. Sorry to be so late in reviewing here. So busy...
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
I had intended to make this humorous, but the story refused to stay that way. In the end, Feanor's eventual obsession with the Silmarils led to so much grief and pain, not least between himself and the woman who loved him. Thanks so, Antane.
