Agape4Gondor · 1 May 2008 · Chapter 10: Pippin and Tulip's Excellent Adventure
Absolute delightful story. Such a convoluted mess. I was beginning to worry about Pip and where he might be. Couldn't imagine him not scouring the place looking for her. And I am pleased that she did not chew his ear off for leaving her to such a fate as she had that day!
Author's reply
They *did* have quite a day, didn't they?
Pearl Took · 28 April 2008 · Chapter 13: A Merry Ride
You have ridden in a car with children, haven't you? ;-) Ours weren't allowed to ask "Are we there yet?" So one time our teenaged son asked "Are we in close proximity of our destination?" What could we do but laugh and compliment him on coming up with a different way to ask the old question - and then we told him he couldn't ask it that way either. Charming as always. The plum tarts sound like a good tasting but bad idea. LOL
Author's reply
Oh yes, riding in a car with children is always a revealing experience. Interesting solution your son had, hehe! I think Pip will have to give up on those plum tarts, but he *does* have another idea up his sleeve for the Faire.... As ever, thanks Pearl!!
mews1945 · 27 April 2008 · Chapter 12: A Merry Surprise
Another funny, sweet, enjoyable chapter in your wee hobbits series.
Author's reply
Thank you so much! I'm glad you find them entertaining and I appreciate your comments so much!
Andrea · 27 April 2008 · Chapter 13: A Merry Ride
LOL!!! So, Tulip has to go to the privy again? That's wonderful! But what I don't understand is how Merry is able to read a book with Pippin constantly talking to him. That's admirable! And I thought only women were capable of multitasking ;-)
Author's reply
Hee, I'd say Tulip has a new fixation and Pip probably needs to find a new one soon before he drives his parents to distraction. As for Merry, I got the idea from my job - if I didn't tune out all the activity around me, which is absolutely as rambunctious as Pip's doings, I'd never be able to get anything done! So, it was easy to picture Merry as being so used to Pippin's constant chatter that he was able to tune him out and read. That is, until Pip and Vinca got into it.... Thank you for reading!
Larner · 26 April 2008 · Chapter 13: A Merry Ride
Ah, the wonderful world of children! And he's blaming the privy stops on poor Tulip again? Heheheheheheee! And Tulip's going to enter the baking contest? Oh, yes! Heh!
Author's reply
Yes, kids are great and provide wonderful fodder for the imagination! Heh, Tulip has some exciting days ahead, I think!
shirebound · 26 April 2008 · Chapter 13: A Merry Ride
Poor Eglantine understands "her lads" so well! “Merrrryyyy! Tell her to stop kicking me! And stop calling Tulip names!” “Then tell him to stop looking at me!” *giggles* That's just perfect.
Author's reply
Yes, she sure does and I guess she's had a great deal of practice. Those are some classic 'kids traveling together in close proximity' lines, huh? Glad you liked it!
Andrea · 26 April 2008 · Chapter 12: A Merry Surprise
“Oh! You are my very own surprise then, Frodo?” Awww! I can imagine him saying just that! Well, I think Tulip had to use the privy because in fact it was Pippin who needed to go there ;-) And I'm looking forward to reading more about The Faire AND the contest! I'm quite sure that Tulip will need her new apron.
Author's reply
Well, we *hope* it was Pip who had to go, but with that piglet, who knows for sure?? Yes, they plan on having a great time at the Faire and I'm sure her new apron will get a workout - have to teach her to do the laundry next!
Pearl Took · 26 April 2008 · Chapter 12: A Merry Surprise
And I can't wait either! A delight as always! I love our energetic little hobbit and his maternal piglet. Merry's surprise was a wonderful one indeed. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Does Tulip enter the contest? I know, read the recipe challenge fic to find out :) "Summer time, and the livin' is easy." Interesting place to end the Old Took's limerick . . . *snigger, chortle*
Author's reply
Heehee, yep, Tulip can't wait to enter the contest and of course, she's certain she's going to win too! I *love* the Old Took's limericks and am looking forward to using that one in its entirety!
Larner · 26 April 2008 · Chapter 12: A Merry Surprise
Let me understand--TULIP has to use the privy? I know she likes sweets, but I'd not realized she DRANK things, too! Hee! Yes, mile-a-minute Pippin at his fastest!
Author's reply
Ah, Tulip has lots of surprises for us! She and Pip do make a good pair, huh? Hard to keep up with them both!
Dreamflower · 25 April 2008 · Chapter 12: A Merry Surprise

please come with us, Frodo, so we can - but were you going fishing? I know! We can all go fish--” “Come up for air, lad.” Frodo patted his shoulder. Heeeee. Looking forward to more!
Author's reply
Thanks Shirebound! I'm so pleased to hear that and I hope you like the rest of it!
Pearl Took · 31 March 2008 · Chapter 11: All in a Day's Work
“Ahem,” Paladin looked at his wife and grinned. “Is it really true we’re having chicken tonight, then?” Eglantine threw her head back and laughed until the tears flowed. LOL LOL What a sweet and fun story! I bet poor Tulip does get awfully filthy. I've had many a day like that myself. Wonderful, Cathleen!
Author's reply
Thanks Pearl!! Lol, I need to write a "Tulip has a bath" story next, huh?
Golden · 30 March 2008 · Chapter 11: All in a Day's Work
*giggles* Oh that is sweet. I had to laugh at what stuff Eglantine found in her sons pockets. *L* And poor Pip...but too sweet. Glad he found in the end something he is good in.
Author's reply
Heh, coming up with the contents of Pippin's pockets was lots of fun!
Larner · 29 March 2008 · Chapter 11: All in a Day's Work
That poor child--three months' worth of Friday the thirteenths in one BUSY day!
Author's reply
Hee, yes indeed, but leave it to Pippin to persevere until he comes out on top! Thank you for your comments once more!!
shirebound · 29 March 2008 · Chapter 11: All in a Day's Work
My goodness, I'm nearly exhausted reading about Pippin's day! The Tooks should be commended for raising this spirited lad into such a wonderful young hobbit.
Author's reply
I think what I like best about Pippin is that he *is* such a positive, spirited lad. So, it follows that he is being raised by like-minded parents.Thank you so much for reading and commenting on anothe ch of my 'Wee Ones'!
Agape4Gondor · 10 March 2008 · Chapter 8: Pippin (Paladin) Had a Little Lamb
This was absolutely, wonderfully precious. I loved the way Paladin reacted to the 'toy' and so critical. I'm surprised Tina didn't hit him over the head with it... And the ending is touching... except I hope Pearl doesn't wake them!!! (though I'm pretty sure Tulip has probably heard)...
Author's reply
Hee! Me too! I think Tina was infinitely patient with Pad's little 'concerns'. Thank you for commenting, I'm so pleased to know you enjoyed another of Pip and Tulip's continuing adventures!!
Agape4Gondor · 6 March 2008 · Chapter 7: This Little Piggy Stayed Home
Another delightful chapter. And I'm sure Tulip looks stunning with the new nose!
Author's reply
Heh, there was actually a good reason behind my writing the story of her broken nose! You can blame Pearl Took....
Agape4Gondor · 6 March 2008 · Chapter 6: Tulip Takes a Tumble
Delightful tale. I wonder how long it will keep Pipp in tow! LOL
Author's reply
Heh, don't know if it can be done! Thank you for reading, and very pleased you enjoyed it!
Andrea · 6 March 2008 · Chapter 10: Pippin and Tulip's Excellent Adventure
An excellent adventure indeed! Pippin should start a career as detective. He's very good at investigating. But where was he all day long? I bet his day was not as exciting as Tulip's until he found her. “Keep both eyes on him lass, always,” she whispered. “He needs watching over.” Well, I think that's also true the other way around ;-)
Author's reply
Well, I don't know exactly where the lad was...perhaps I should write *that* story? And yes, I think they are a good pair for watching over one another! Thank you for reading!!
shirebound · 6 March 2008 · Chapter 10: Pippin and Tulip's Excellent Adventure
“My, and what a trip around the farmyard you’ve been having, eh my wee lass?” Chuckling, Nell deposited her back inside her apron. “Now let’s just see if you can make it all the way into the house this time, hmm?” My, and what a trip indeed! And Pippin is a clever detective.
Author's reply
He is, isn't he? And I think he enjoyed it immensely, too! Thank you for reading and for your sweet FB!
Pearl Took · 5 March 2008 · Chapter 10: Pippin and Tulip's Excellent Adventure
I love this (as always :-) ) Such a wonderful chain of events and all very logical and believable as well. Pip did a lovely job solving the mystery! MEWD!
Author's reply
I'm so glad you're still enjoying these little tales, and thank you so much for your generous comments, Pearl!
Larner · 5 March 2008 · Chapter 10: Pippin and Tulip's Excellent Adventure
Ah--a most adventurous day indeed for small knitted piglets. Sounds as if she managed to get all over the farm and meet most of the resident animals! Heh!
Author's reply
Yes, I suppose Tulip thought it was high time she had an adventure all her own! Thank you for reading and commenting!!
aliensouldream · 2 March 2008 · Chapter 9: Tulips and Primroses
Here via mews's rec. The minute I saw the words 'Pippin' and 'piglet' I had to read this. I love wee!hobbits and pre-Quest glimpses. This was a sunny little tale that sums up the pastoral innocence of the hobbits. Hope there's more! :-)
Author's reply
Well, I'll have to give Mews a great big thank you for doing that, it's always very special to hear someone has recommended a story you've written, and that they're enjoying it! I have been having loads of fun with Tulip and Pip, and they still have lots planned so they've been keeping me busy. Thank you so much again, and I hope you continue to read and enjoy!
shirebound · 1 March 2008 · Chapter 9: Tulips and Primroses
Pippin’s clothes were rumpled; he had a streak of dirt across his chin, and another trailing down one cheek. His favourite piglet was peeking out the top of his shirt collar, and there were bits of yellow straw in his tousled hair. I love that description, and Pippin's joy in Merry's company.
Author's reply
Pippin is always fun to describe no matter what he's up to. And he does adore his Merry! Once more, thank you so much, Shirebound!
