Larner · 7 February 2008 · Chapter 6: Tulip Takes a Tumble

Aha! So Paladin changed the story a bit, huh! I just reread it, and still get a chuckle out of it. Now, to find a new button for Tulip's nose. And to think of Pippin carrying both a piglet and a Sammy-Lambie! Heh!

Author's reply

Larner, thank you again for your very kind comments on my story! I appreciate it so much!

Andrea · 7 February 2008 · Chapter 6: Tulip Takes a Tumble

"Well, I know without a doubt now where Pippin gets most of his imagination and his ability to talk non-stop." Eglantine chuckled Me, too! LOL!!! Your Paladin is wonderful! And he's a good storyteller. The version he told Pippin was much more entertaining than the real one. And his son will remember it, I'm quite sure. Poor Tulip, though! A literally broken nose - that must be painful indeed!

Author's reply

Thank you so much for your kind and generous words! And I'm especially very pleased to hear you like my Paladin - I've always pictured him to be a great deal like his mischievous son! Don't worry, Tulip's gonna get a new nose, heh!

Agape4Gondor · 6 February 2008 · Chapter 2: Out on a Limb

This is such fun! I love the descriptions of the snout and the cloven hooves and such! Delightful. Psst - I'm very glad they made it down without any accidents!

Author's reply

Thank you! It's a great deal of fun to write too, as you may well imagine. Thank you so much for commenting!

Dreamflower · 6 February 2008 · Chapter 6: Tulip Takes a Tumble

Oh that Paladin! *shakes head* I don't blame Pippin for asking for a story with no moral to it! LOL! I did enjoy the differences between Paladin's version of Sammy-Lambie's fate and Eglantine's version--that was very funny indeed.

Author's reply

Heh, thank you! In *my* universe I picture Paladin as, in some ways, having been much like his son while growing up, but as an adult, maybe a little chagrined to have anyone know it. Either way, he can't resist a "teaching moment" whenever one appears! Maybe it's because he remembers all too well how easily a wee lad can get into trouble. Glad you enjoyed the differences between the stories, and thank you for reviewing!

shirebound · 6 February 2008 · Chapter 6: Tulip Takes a Tumble

Tulip perched next to him, a matching binding adorning her hoof, a bandage on her snout, and a tiny splint wrapped around her tail. Adorable, as always. And that's a perfect story for Pippin to think over while he and Tulip are confined to bed.

Author's reply

Hehehe, glad you liked it Shirebound! I kept imagining that picture of Tulip in my head and just went with it.

Pearl Took · 6 February 2008 · Chapter 6: Tulip Takes a Tumble

Bravo Cathleen!! A charming tale and wonderfully told. I love Paladin's embellishments when telling the tale to Pippin so that he came out looking better than he did in the correct version. The version Pip got is much more exciting! *applause*

Author's reply

Thank you Pearl! I'm very pleased you enjoyed it, and I so appreciate your suggestions!

Neilia · 26 January 2008 · Chapter 5: Piggy is, as Piggy Does

Tulip and Faeries! Lovely! Pip sure has a lot of protection..and he sure needs it! Love this. Neilia

Author's reply

So glad you're still enjoying Tulip! Thank you so much for your lovely comments!

Andrea · 24 January 2008 · Chapter 5: Piggy is, as Piggy Does

Eglantine looked up from her sewing in surprise as her son burst into the room like a small stormcloud in the process of creating a lightning strike. LOL!!! Great image! So, Tulip prevented Pippin from doing something dangerous twice that day! That's remarkable. Like shirebound I had the idea that Tulip might be the little lad's conscience. On the other hand her arguments are sometimes SO reasonable that I doubt it ;-) There's more to that special piglet than meets the eye! The creature who gave Pippin the primrose was a faerie, right? I'm looking forward to reading more!

Author's reply

Thank you! Yes indeed, the primrose-bearing creature *is* a faerie! Heh, yeah I have a feeling there's a whole lot more to Tulip than meets the eye. Thanks again for reading!

Pearl Took · 24 January 2008 · Chapter 5: Piggy is, as Piggy Does

I like that our wee lad resisted temptation and was rewarded for it :-) Is this an early view of Rhoswen? I live that the gossamer faeries gave him a flower. Tulip,as always, is adorable!

Author's reply

Yep, this is sort of a prequel, and the faerie child is Rhoswen. Flowers are very symbolic in faerie lore, and the primrose aids one in entering the faerie realm. This is her first invitation to Pip to come visit her home! And, as always, thank you so much for your comments! I'm so pleased you like Tulip!

Larner · 24 January 2008 · Chapter 5: Piggy is, as Piggy Does

With Peregrin Took, it's one day at a time at the best of times! Ah, he's managed to keep himself on track today at least. Lovely.

Author's reply

Yes, he has indeed! And a day at a time is the only way for Pippin, I think. Ah, the lad's mind travels a mile a minute, hehe! Thank you for for sweet comments.

shirebound · 23 January 2008 · Chapter 5: Piggy is, as Piggy Does

Tulip certainly does manage to get her own way rather a lot, or is it a wee lad's conscience telling him right from wrong? I love this pair and their gentle adventures.

Author's reply

Awww, thank you so much, Shirebound. I'm so flattered to know you're continuing to read and enjoy my series of Pip and Tulip adventures! Yes, Tulip definitely gets her way as much as Pip does. Perhaps he's met his match? I imagine they still have quite a lot to teach one another!

Larner · 21 January 2008 · Chapter 4: Tulip's Tale

Seems as if he was the one doing the telling this time, but at least this way they ALL got a nap! Heh!

Author's reply

Very true! And Pip is a master storyteller, huh? Thank you so much for your continued comments, Larner. I'm very pleased you're enjoying this series!

Andrea · 21 January 2008 · Chapter 4: Tulip's Tale

“You’re right. We never did get our story!” LOL!!! No wonder with all his constant chatter! But he's really a charming little lad! Now, is it only Frodo's imagination or did Tulip really raise her brow? I think Tulip is a very special knitted piglet :)

Author's reply

Heh, I love to listen to Pip's chatter! He comes out with some amzing things to say. Hmm, *is* it Frodo's imagination?? Well, there's no doubt that Tulip is definitely a special little piggy.... Thanks for commenting, I'm so glad you liked it!

harrowcat · 21 January 2008 · Chapter 4: Tulip's Tale

No but we did and a lovely story it was too. Oops, one typo I think 'only Da has noticed him yet' Did you mean hasn't?

Author's reply

Thanks for letting me know you liked this tale! And yes, I fixed my wee typo - thank you for calling it to my attention!

Pearl Took · 20 January 2008 · Chapter 4: Tulip's Tale

This is charming, warm and sweet cathleen! So many cute parts. Frodo's many well aimed swats to the back of Merry's head. Pippin's long list of friends he has so he won't need to ever court a lass, and his concerns for the owl in the barn. I love Tulip and that Frodo can almost see her expressions. So wonderfully well done!!

Author's reply

Pearl, thanks so much for reading and commenting - I'm very pleased you liked it!!!

Agape4Gondor · 20 January 2008 · Chapter 1: Lily Took

Oh good grief - sometimes I seem dyslexic - I thought the piglet was a KNIGHTED piglet not a KNITTED one! *blushes in the midst of laughter* I have not met the little one before...

Author's reply

Hee, well, knighted *or* knitted, Tulip is a force to be reckoned with, I think! Thank you for commenting!

shirebound · 20 January 2008 · Chapter 4: Tulip's Tale

Pippin scrambled from his hiding place and climbed in between his cousins. Tulip was nestled inside of his nightshirt collar. The "Tulip Tales" continue to be adorable.

Author's reply

Hi Shirebound! Many, many thanks for continuing to read, I'm so pleased you like this little series!

Baggins Babe · 1 January 2008 · Chapter 3: Of Snow and Warm Woolies

Pearl seems to be very talented at making things, and I'm sure Pippin was delighted with Tulip's new woollies. Tulip is a real character - I love her!

Author's reply

Thanks so much for your lovely comments! I'm so glad you like Tulip!

Grumpy · 29 December 2007 · Chapter 3: Of Snow and Warm Woolies

Glad to see that Tulip has gotten some winter wear to ward off the winter chill. Love the fact that she has boots. Warm hoofs, warm heart!

Author's reply

Hee, I thought that Pip would want her to have a full ensemble!

Neilia · 29 December 2007 · Chapter 3: Of Snow and Warm Woolies

Oh! cathleen! This is totally adorable! I love Tulip and her Pippin!

Author's reply

Neilia, Thank you! It warms my heart to hear you're enjoying these little tales, and thanks for telling me so!

Andrea · 29 December 2007 · Chapter 3: Of Snow and Warm Woolies

Oh, what a sweet little story! I think it's quite fitting that Pearl, being Pippin's oldest sister, understands his love for Tulip best. From what you told us she must have been very talented in knitting and stitching. I know that Knitted Pippin and Knitted Merry exist, and I've even seen some lovely pictures of Errol. What about Tulip?

Author's reply

Well, Tulip has been a wee bit camera shy, but she fully intends to make her photogenic debut very soon! Meanwhile, she is perched next to my computer helping me in composing every one of her tales. Thanks for asking!

shirebound · 29 December 2007 · Chapter 3: Of Snow and Warm Woolies

Tulip was resplendent in her stylish Yule attire Could these stories -- or Pippin or Tulip -- be any more adorable? :)

Author's reply

Awww, thanks! I kind of think Pip and Tulip are adorable too!

Golden · 29 December 2007 · Chapter 3: Of Snow and Warm Woolies

How cute! *L* Tulip with all those wee things on. *L* And now I of course would very much like to know how the Bucklanders, well Merry, will like this fashioned Piglet. Hehe. He´d probbaly roll his eye and saying, that the lad needs more lad company and not so many lasses around. *giggles* Write more of it please!

Author's reply

Thanks hon! I figured it was about time Tulip started working on her wardrobe!

Larner · 28 December 2007 · Chapter 3: Of Snow and Warm Woolies

What a lovely ensemble. Between Errol and Tulip, Pippin has his share of toys watching over him! Heh!

Author's reply

Thanks, Larner! Yes, I think Pippin is a very lucky little hobbit lad!

Pearl Took · 28 December 2007 · Chapter 3: Of Snow and Warm Woolies

I love it Cathleen!! Utterly adorable :-)

Author's reply

Thanks so much Pearl! That means a great deal to me!
