Re your footnote to Chapter 13, Oropher, his family and people left Doriath as refugees and survivors of the raid by the kin-slayers. They found sanctuary in The Greenwood and the Silvan accepted Oropher as leader. They didn't 'fall out' with the Lorien elves, who had their own rulers - Amdir followed by his son, Amroth. Celeborn and Galadriel only took over as rulers of Lothlorien after the deaths of Amdir and Amroth.

This story is just fantastic! I love the characterization you've given all the characters from canon, and I like the original characters as well. So was the "young one" of the last chapter Esendri? I'm going to be a coward and wait until the next part is finished before starting it. I really enjoy your writing style. The only thing I've noticed is that sometimes you seem to rephrase a sentence halfway through without getting rid of the last half, or some words get skipped over. Anyway, I hope you keep up the good work.

I admire your ability to weave a complicated story line. Just one suggestion: "All I see is two friends, one right before me, whom I cannot abandon, and other, lost. Possibly could be improved: "All I see are two friends; one right before me whom I cannot abandon, and another, lost."

Lyn · 29 March 2006 · Chapter 16: XVI

As always, an excellent story. Just one suggestion: It was then that she noted that she was a strange cloak wrapped around her. Missing something...perhaps, "It was then she noted she had a strange cloak wrapped around her" or "It was then she noted a strange cloak was wrapped around her"

Luna · 29 January 2005 · Chapter 56: LVI

Great great great!! I can't wait till the next chapter...what's with Unievil???

Author's reply

Thanks, Luna. Hopefully, the next chapter will be up within the week!

loopy · 5 January 2005 · Chapter 55: LV

Still enjoying this -- though I wonder if the light-heartedness will return?

Author's reply

Hiya, glad to see that you still like it! While the story gets darker, I think you'll enjoy the next chapter quite a bit! =) x

Elven_lady14 · 20 November 2004 · Chapter 28: XXVIII

Why is Legolas Calling Lord Elrond Ada?

Author's reply

Hi and thanks for reviewing again! It's part of the story, which will be explained later! Once again, I apologise for removing all the later chapters, but I PROMISE that it'll be a million times better once I've finished re-writing them, hopefully by the end of the year! x

Elven_lady14 · 20 November 2004 · Chapter 21: XXI

Whats with the whole Yoda talk thing? ou are saying thiongs like, Served me well have you, and its driving me NUTZ!

Author's reply

Really sorry about that, it's part of the reason why I'm re-writing it! I've removed the older, bad chapters so that it's not as messy, and confusing! My new material has only gone up to Chapter 16 now, and I promise there's not a single Yoda-esque phrase there! =) x

Elf messenger · 15 September 2004 · Chapter 53: LIII

Home sweet home. Back in Lasgalen. Elrohir must have a sign on his back that says "Yell at me". I hope he cools off;). Can't wait for your next chapter! Namarie. Elf messenger

Author's reply

Sometimes we tend to take the ones who care for us for granted and ill-treat them without realising it. Obviously Elrohir is one of those, and I seriously do admire his patience! =) Meanwhile, Lasgalen should provide plenty of excitement for our favourite Elves. x

Chathol-linn · 13 September 2004 · Chapter 52: LII

I liked the brisk pace of the dialog and action. Fael Bain (great name by the way), you've portrayed the characters with feeling and economy. Nice job. This is the first time I've seen your closing song. I like it better than the one you quoted; no offense intended toward it. It's just that I knew your original work would suit your story better. Best regards - Chathol-linn

Author's reply

Hi Chathol-linn! Thanks for making me believe that I could do it! I agree with you that it was a lot more appropriate for the purposes of the chapter, and of course there was the sense of accomplishment in that it was actually mine! =) I'm very glad you like my name and the story! =) x

Elf messenger · 12 September 2004 · Chapter 52: LII

Recociliation. That was a very good chapter. Legolas and Thranduil are finaly acting like a family. I can't wait for your next up date!! Namarie. Elf messenger

Author's reply

Thanks for the encouragment, as always! It's good that Legolas finally has his father on his side! Perhaps now it's everything is going to be better, but I wouldn't count on it, of course! ;) x

Elf messenger · 8 September 2004 · Chapter 50: L

Aww, I feel so sad for Thranduil. I hope they can make ammends. I can't wait until your next chapter! Namarie. Elf messenger

Author's reply

Hi there! Yep, Thranduil is in quite a state, isn't he? Well, I hope i can only do everything justice in the next chapter, which I promise should be a good one, with lots of bittersweet angst!

L( · 2 September 2004 · Chapter 12: XII

ok, need a little gripe time. I love this plot, but for god's sake, they're elves, not Yoda!! Learn to control your sentences - fragments abound and pull the story out of whack. use commas and conjunctions (and but or nor for yet so) instead of choppy, one word adjective sentences. Also, elves mature slowly, taking 50 or 100 years - and they "fall in love" when two halves of the soul meet. crushes and disappointment don't happen, and the "romance" is totally unrealistic. Flaming criticism aside, I do love your plot, and the tiny adduendums you insert to change your version of Middle Earth from others'. Find yourself a solid BETA and keep it up.

Author's reply

Hello and thanks for your review! =) I agree completely with you that my earlier chapters were absolutely atrocious and horrendous, but in my defence I wrote them about 2 years ago now, and if you carry on reading (and manage to get pass the irritatingness!), I promise that it gets a lot better. I know it's riddled with mistakes, but I've yet to find a beta who is willing to plough through 58 chapters in total, and I'm a hopeless editor myself! About romance and crushes, I like to take the view that it is open for interpretation. Sure, when they fall in love, it is for life, but I am sure there is attraction and such that will happen, because I feel that otherwise it would be too 'perfect'! It's probably stepping slightly out of Tolkien's original intent, but I'd hoped that others could accept it! I appreciate your honesty, and hope that you find the future paragraphs a lot better..=)

Elf messenger · 25 August 2004 · Chapter 44: XLIV

Uh-oh, Legolas is in it this time. Boy is El angry! Can't wait for your next chapter! Namarie. Elf messenger

Author's reply

Yep indeed Elrohir is NOT impressed! Stay tuned for the next chapter, to be posted SOON! x

Jay of Lasgalen · 24 August 2004 · Chapter 44: XLIV

Oh dear. Whose bright idea was that? I'm not surprised Elrohir is angry, it seems a rather cruel way to get his attention. What is it with him and Legolas, anyway? Jay

Author's reply

Hi Jay! Nice to see you around! I agree that it wasn't a nice thing to do to Elrohir, and hence his reaction! Perhaps the young ones got a little too carried away! Elrohir and Legolas share a very special relationship, that will hopefully be explained in future chapters, and no, this story does not have any slash, if that's what you're thinking! ;) x

Elf messenger · 17 August 2004 · Chapter 49: XLIX

Ooo, warning bells are ringing. I wonder what is ailing Elrohir? I can't wait for your next chapter! Namarie. Elf messenger

Author's reply

It'll be up soon, I'm just polishing up a few things..unfortunately, I doubt they'll be any explanation of what's wrong with Elrohir at any point soon, so you'd just have to read some more! x

Elf messenger · 6 August 2004 · Chapter 48: XLVIII

Ooo, the plot thickens( how many times have I said that?). At first I had no idea who the two travelers were until you said their names. I can't wait for your next chapter! Namarie. Elf messenger

Author's reply

I think it might be fair to say instead that the plot is running out of control! lol! Stay tuned for the next chapter, which should be ready to be published this weekend! x

Elf messenger · 3 July 2004 · Chapter 47: XLVII

Good chapter. Esendri reminds me of an innocent little kid, they try something you are doing and they do it better. I hope Legolas gets it! Until your next chapter, Namarie. Elf messenger

Author's reply

I think it's easy to forget that Esendri (and Legolas) are both very young still for Elves, being barely 200! Sorry about the delay, I promise to update in the next few days!

songfire · 5 June 2004 · Chapter 22: XXII

I love the story - you have a gift to capture Tolkien's characters. I just wish they'd talk less like yoda... ;)

Author's reply

Heehee, whoops, sorry about that, I promise it'll get better, I don't know why I started that silly thing in the first place! ;) Thanks anyway for the review! xx

Elf messenger · 27 May 2004 · Chapter 45: XLV

Elf messenger · 8 May 2004 · Chapter 43: XLIII

I wonder what is wrong with Elrohir(of course you know)? I can't wait to see what happens next! Until then, Namarie. Elf messenger

Author's reply

Sorry for the delay, hope you're enjoying this chapter, and if you want to know what's up with the younger twin, you've got to read (and review) more of course! ;)

Man, that Dwarf got up on the wrong side of the bed. I can't wait to see where he fits in. Those elves just have a knack for getting into trouble. Good referance to "Blood Brothers" I can't wait until the next chapter! Namarie. Elf messenger
