Medea Smyke · 17 November 2008 · Chapter 7: Cat's Gift (Éomer, Eldarion)

Oh, hilarious! Poor Eomer. It appears that evil things still lurk in Meduseld. ;)

Author's reply

Haha! And sometimes it comes in unexpected formes!

Larner · 17 November 2008 · Chapter 15: The Errand (Faramir)

Ah, but did he appreciate just what Isildur's Bane was? Boromir doesn't appear to have known! But Boromir took the quest for his own.... Nice characterization here, and good look at the dream.

Author's reply

Thank you. I took a little liberty as to the question whether Faramir knew about the meaning of "Isildur's Bane".

Linda Hoyland · 17 November 2008 · Chapter 15: The Errand (Faramir)

I loved this look at Faramir's dream. I never know whether to be glad or sorry he did not go to Rivendell.Glad if that was why he lived, sorry if he could have gone and returned.

Author's reply

Thank you. Yes, it's something we'll never know.

Szepilona10 · 15 July 2008 · Chapter 14: Sightseeing (OC)

Vandalism? Who would want to steal a dead tree? This is very funny! Buh is what I'll use to scare my little brother from now on! God Bless! ~Szepilona10~

Szepilona10 · 15 July 2008 · Chapter 6: A Date's Irony (Aragorn, Arwen)

I am sobbing. I miss Halbarad!:'( God Bless! ~Szepilona10~

grumpy · 16 March 2008 · Chapter 14: Sightseeing (OC)

Oh my, the things that rangers will get up too when there is no rangering to do I can see that Aragorn might have to make up a list of things not to do.

Author's reply

Haha. Yes, it's not like rangers to remain idle and some may get ideas... But they wouldn't ever do anything that's harmful to others. Glad you enjoyed.

Linda Hoyland · 14 March 2008 · Chapter 14: Sightseeing (OC)

This made me laugh.I've often wondered about these guards too and they inspired my "Mask of Virtue".Just delightful!

Author's reply

Thanky you. Yep, they are something special. It's supposed to be an honour to stand guard there, but I'm not so sure that it feels like one. ;) Glad you enjoyed.

Larner · 14 March 2008 · Chapter 14: Sightseeing (OC)

And if Aragorn's kinsmen find many of Gondor's practices to be empty or foolish, the guardians of the southern realm are likely to look as much askance at some northern usages! Heh! Heat stroke! Oh, I can imagine! Hopefully the elevation works against that.

Author's reply

Ah, but I think that the people in the North are perhaps a bit more practical. But it's interesting to look at the differences bewteen the two realms. I hope indeed that the hight helps. But still - it must have been quite uncomfortable. Glad you enjoyed.

SurgicalSteel · 14 March 2008 · Chapter 14: Sightseeing (OC)

*laughs* Love this.

Author's reply

Glad you enjoyed it. This "waste" of men must have been strange to the rangers and screams to be ridiculed.

Linda Hoyland · 5 March 2008 · Chapter 13: Farewell (Aragorn, Halbarad)

I'm pleased you have posted this lovely, heartrending piece here too.

Author's reply

Yes, of course I did. ;) I'm so happy that you enjoyed it.

Claudia · 4 March 2008 · Chapter 13: Farewell (Aragorn, Halbarad)

I really enjoy reading stories that have Halbarad in them, especially the friendship between him and Aragorn. Thank you for this!

Author's reply

Thank you back for the review. Aragorn and Halbarad stories really are my favourite. I think that he is such a wonderful and selfless character.

Larner · 4 March 2008 · Chapter 13: Farewell (Aragorn, Halbarad)

I still love this one, each time I reread it.

Author's reply

Oh, thank you. It really is a piece to read again. Glad you enjoy it so much.

Nieriel Raina · 10 February 2008 · Chapter 12: Conquest (Aragorn, Éomer)

Oh I LOVED this! I am a big fan of Eomer/Lothiriel fics and this was just fabulous! You captured so much in so few words. BRAVO! NiRi

Author's reply

Thanks, NiRi. I love Éomer/Lothíriel and the different ways how they could have met.

colbysgurl · 10 February 2008 · Chapter 7: Cat's Gift (Éomer, Eldarion)

Lol...poor Eomer!!! I stand corrected. *This* is my favorite.

Author's reply

Haha, yes. But that man knows how to get out of that, doesn't he?

colbysgurl · 10 February 2008 · Chapter 6: A Date's Irony (Aragorn, Arwen)

Was great that you mentioned Pelenor Fields..but was sad at the end with Aragorn's death...really liked the way you wrote Arwen's patience as she listened to Aragorn "rant". Favorite one so far.

Author's reply

Thank you. I think that that day must always have remained in his heart. I can't imagine Arwen *not* being patient.

colbysgurl · 10 February 2008 · Chapter 4: The King's Clothes (Aragorn, OC)

Well, I do give kudos to Aragorn for not wanting to wear Denathor's clothing...Aragorns's anxiety to see Arwen was very sweet.

Author's reply

Hehe, I think that there are several reasons for Aragorn's reluctance to wear Denethor's clothing. Thinks ranging from personal experience with Denethor to the political implications. And of course Aragorn is anxious - I think everyone in his situation would. Thanks for reviewing.

colbysgurl · 10 February 2008 · Chapter 2: Waiting

I'm a little confused here...are you talking about Minis Tirith?

Author's reply

It is ment to be confusing and many people guessed. But what I had in mind were the ruins of Annúminas. I can imagine that the rangers went there - like they did with Fornost. And the stone's waiting for the day the city is rebuilt, something that actually happened after many years of lying in ruins. Thanks for reviewing.

colbysgurl · 10 February 2008 · Chapter 1: Only the Beginning (Éowyn and Faramir)

Wow..this was really well done. i loved the fact that Faramir played the hapr for Eowyn. very well-written description.. look forward to reading more.

Author's reply

Thank you. For me Faramir is not a warrior but the romantic, renaissance type of man who values old lore and the fine arts.

SurgicalSteel · 10 February 2008 · Chapter 12: Conquest (Aragorn, Éomer)

HAH. I can see this conversation taking place so easily. Nicely done!

Author's reply

Thank you. Éomer has no idea what he's up against!

Linda Hoyland · 5 February 2008 · Chapter 11: Seeking (Aragorn, OC)

Just heartrending. Beautifully written.

Author's reply

Thank you. It actually made me teary eyed to write it.

SurgicalSteel · 5 February 2008 · Chapter 11: Seeking (Aragorn, OC)

Ouch. That hurts - poor Aragorn. Beautifully done.

Author's reply

I can imagine that it would have hurt a lot. I always imagined them being very close.

Larner · 5 February 2008 · Chapter 11: Seeking (Aragorn, OC)

Realizing Halbarad was now dead indeed must have torn at Aragorn. And then to have to go on and heal others and deal with folks as he did--it must have both torn further at him and aided him to heal the quicker, that he not see all he'd come to care for deeply follow after his kinsman.

Author's reply

I imagine it to be very hard for Aragorn - he's saved so many lives but couldn't save one of those that were most dear to him. But sometimes doing what has to be sone is the only way to go on. Thanks for commenting.

Larner · 1 February 2008 · Chapter 10: Boromir's journey

Ah, excellently done, my lady! To find a land deemed mythical and hidden by the power of Elrond's ring must have been daunting.

Author's reply

Thank you. It certainly was not easy for him to find it. I don't think he had a precise description of the way and the chances of finding someone in Eriador who knows Imladris were very slim indeed.

Larner · 1 February 2008 · Chapter 9: The same procedure (Aragorn, OC)

Yes, to be a King is to lose a good deal of privacy, although I've decided in my stories that Aragorn, as the first King in a thousand years, is not allowing such silliness as a whole group of folks standing around while he dresses from the get go. He may need to have a valet, for court dress will be fancier; but the Lord Diaperer and Holder of the King's Mantle? Nah--I'll have him do without! Heh!

Author's reply

Ah, but I remembered zhe "lever" of the French kings and just couldn't resist. And sometimes he has to endure things in order to not offend the nobles. A very tricky thing is being king.

Linda Hoyland · 1 February 2008 · Chapter 9: The same procedure (Aragorn, OC)

Poor Aragorn!I can think of nothing worse than having to dress in public, especially after his life of solitude in the wilds!

Author's reply

Oh yes *shudders* I don't think that I would ever get used to it.
