LOL! That was cute! I've missed seeing your works posted here lately. Please write some more!

harrowcat · 11 January 2010 · Chapter 18: The Art Of Diplomacy

Brilliant Jay. It probably did seem like a full-time job keeping up with Estel too.

daw the minstrel · 11 January 2010 · Chapter 18: The Art Of Diplomacy

LOL. Ain't that the truth? Mr daw once wanted to get rid of someone working for him, and when another supervisor called about taking this guy, Mr daw said, truthfully, that he'd never had another subordinate like him.

Larner · 14 September 2009 · Chapter 8: Winter In Imladris

As Lindelea says, "Perfect logic!" Heh! Let's blame the intended victim!

Agape4Gondor · 12 June 2009 · Chapter 17: 'What was That?'

*GIGGLES*

Author's reply

LOL! Yes, this was fun to write.

Sulwing of Mirkwood · 11 June 2009 · Chapter 17: 'What was That?'

Oooooh, Estel would loooooove to hear about this one! And El would probably kill anyone who tried to tell him! :)

Author's reply

Yes, Estel would love this. But who's going to tell him?

grumpy · 10 June 2009 · Chapter 17: 'What was That?'

Ok, my cat now is looking at me wierdly, wants to know what I was laughing at. Thanks for the laugh out load for the day

Author's reply

LOL! Has your cat forgiven you?

Kitty · 10 June 2009 · Chapter 17: 'What was That?'

*lol* The twins must have been quite young to run away from a cow! Though admittedly, better running away and then finding out it was only a cow than staying and facing something dangerous. And hopefully no one has watched ;)

Author's reply

Yes, they're young here, and didn't *know* it was a cow chasing them. Did anyone see? Hmmm ...

Kitty · 10 June 2009 · Chapter 16: Zirak-Zigil

That place wasn’t the most comfortable one, but the landscape and the form of the rocks must have been quite interesting.

Author's reply

I think it was bleak and barren, but still beautiful in its way.

6336 · 10 June 2009 · Chapter 17: 'What was That?'

Just how old are our favorite pair of Elflings? I hope Buttercup was not too upset, not good to scare milk cows, makes their milk curdle on you! Lynda

Author's reply

The twins are very young here, hinted at in the comment that 'Ada would chase anything dangerous away'. A bull would have been better, but didn't fit ;)

ellie · 10 June 2009 · Chapter 17: 'What was That?'

lol! ATTACK COWS! too funny!

Author's reply

LOL! Poor twins - they won't forget this in a hurry.

Larner · 10 June 2009 · Chapter 17: 'What was That?'

Ah--cute!

Author's reply

*Grin* They don't appreciate being called 'cute' ...

Cairistiona · 10 June 2009 · Chapter 17: 'What was That?'

LOL... having walked through the woods around here and been startled by a cow a time or two, it *can* give you a bit of a turn! Poor Elladan and Elrohir... somehow I bet they won't be telling of this adventure in the Hall of Fire. :)

Author's reply

Hmm ... probably not :>)

Larner · 30 May 2009 · Chapter 16: Zirak-Zigil

A beautiful descriptive vignette, Jay. Excellent imagery!

Author's reply

Thank you. I imagined the pass as bleak but still beautiful.

ellie · 29 May 2009 · Chapter 16: Zirak-Zigil

very cleverly done!

Author's reply

Thank you! 'Z' was hard. Zirak-zigil was easy, but the final word was much harder to find!

rick · 19 May 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

I like all these drablets, but this last one just begs for a sequel - where the tutor or Eldarion invite the twins to come give a 1st person view of various historical events - and the tutor gets a better clue. Keep writing - I like your stuff!

Author's reply

I think the idea for a sequel is great, but perhaps it's one better left to the imagination. The poor tutor wouldn't stand a chance!

Sulwing of Mirkwood · 21 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Oh that's a great one! I wish I had sources like the twins to use for MY English class. Would make life a lot easier. That was a very funny and original drabblet there! I really enjoyed it! Can you imagine the look on the tutor's face when Elladan and Elrohir walked in? Count on the twins to get Eldarion out of study time... :)

Author's reply

I rather like the idea of Elladan and Elrohir whisking Eldarion away from his lessons - and the tutor too stunned to protest about it!

Dreamflower · 18 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

*giggle* Now that's both true and adorable! I love the fact that for the Elves, most of history is *personal* history! How disconcerting that must have been to the mortals around them? I'd love to have seen the tutor's face!

Author's reply

The tutor, after asking 'What would your uncles know of this battle?' would be stunned to find they were the mythological horsemen clad in grey :>)

Raksha The Demon · 18 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Oh, that's good! Just ask the 2000-year-old Elves who popped in to help win the Battle. Maybe the tutor should get the Elves to write their memoirs, hmmm? And then there's Celeborn's perspective on the legendary romance and adventures of Beren and Luthien...

Author's reply

Poor Herion! He's used to teaching human children. He's *not* used to elves who were there at all the great battles :)

Celeritas · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Perfect title! Letters and diaries are still important, but if we could have some Elvish eyewitness sources... aaagggghhhh... *collapses in heap of historical nerdery*

Author's reply

*Giggles* Thank you! A lot of my friends are historians. When one mentioned 'primary sources' I began thinking ...

Parmalokwen · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Hee! Eldarion does not yet realize how lucky he is, being raised with both elvish and mortal wisdom. Poor Herion-- I'm sure he's used to knowing more than his young students, both knowledge itself and the ways of getting it. But if he is indeed wise, he knows that nobody is too old to learn. Do you think archaeology might take some explaining to an elf?

Author's reply

Heh! Poor Herion - he may know nobody is too old to learn, but he can't imagine anyone so old that they were actually part of the battles he teaches about :>) (And archaeology? Why dig up artifacts when you can just ask someone who was there?)

Larner · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Ah--THIS one has primary sources NOT available to most folks! Love it!

Author's reply

And most folks aren't aware that these primary sources even exist :)

Elflingimp · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Ha!Ha! Showed that ole tutor!!! Hugs The Imp

Author's reply

Yes! Poor Herion :>)

Marethiel · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Hee hee!! I love it! Good answer, Eldarion, good answer! ~Marethiel

Author's reply

*Grin* Of course, the twins' involvement isn't widely known outside Rivendell - but to Eldarion it's family history :)

daw the minstrel · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

LOL. How cool would that be?

Author's reply

*Grin* Poor Herion - how could he imagine this interruption to a lesson?
