I love it! Ask his uncles indeed! Wonderful little drabblet!

Author's reply

Well - they were there! Who better to ask?

Radbooks · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Cute! A most enjoyable tale.

Author's reply

Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed this!

Cairistiona · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Hee hee! Nothing like talking to living, breathing primary sources! I wish I'd had some uncles who were "there" when I was studying my history.

Author's reply

Wouldn't it be wonderful to talk to someone who was there?

Agape4Gondor · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

This was absolutely splendid! What a treasure the boy has! I loved it - I think one of your best ever....

Author's reply

Well, thank you! History must be so much more interesting when you can just go and *ask* those who were there :)

shirebound · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

That's adorable. What an intelligent -- and cheeky -- lad!

Author's reply

I think Eldarion has a lot of his father - and his uncles - in him :)

Kitty · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 14: A Wedding In The Greenwood

It seems very fitting that the trees blessed this union of a prince of the Woodland Realm. Lovely, Jay!

Kitty · 17 April 2009 · Chapter 15: Primary Sources

Ah yes, the best way to find out the truth would be to ask eyewitnesses for a first-hand account *grin* And here Eldarion is in a rather unique position :D That was fun, Jay! Thank you!

Author's reply

Thanks. I'm glad you liked this. **Grin** Poor Herion - I love imagining his stunned expression!

Sulwing of Mirkwood · 8 March 2009 · Chapter 14: A Wedding In The Greenwood

Yay! A wedding! I love weddings! :) I also liked the blessing of the tree...very beautiful and fitting for the future king of Mirkwood and his lovely wife!

ellie · 28 February 2009 · Chapter 14: A Wedding In The Greenwood

Love the nervous Tharnduil. The blessing with leaves was actually quite beautiful.

Larner · 27 February 2009 · Chapter 14: A Wedding In The Greenwood

Ah, wonderful!

elliska · 27 February 2009 · Chapter 14: A Wedding In The Greenwood

Oh I love this! I will never stopped being amazed at how much really good drabble writers manage to convey in 100 words and this drabble is a really good example of that. 100 words and I just love Thranduil and Oropher in it!

Nieriel Raina · 27 February 2009 · Chapter 14: A Wedding In The Greenwood

Beautiful, Jay! *applauds*

Elflingimp · 27 February 2009 · Chapter 14: A Wedding In The Greenwood

Aw! Thats all I can say. Hugs The Imp

Agape4Gondor · 27 February 2009 · Chapter 14: A Wedding In The Greenwood

I've often thought those flowery crowns must itch! Now I have proof! As for the trees - that was a very nice!

Sulwing of Mirkwood · 15 February 2009 · Chapter 13: It Comes In Pints

Hee hee hee! That is some image, dignified Thranduil choking on his drink. But I agree that beer is soooo not elvish. And it is very unrefined to Thranduil's thinking I am sure. Potted plants come in handy, don't they?

Author's reply

Poor Thranduil! At an official banquet, he couldn't really spit it out, could he? Legolas had the better idea :)

Kitty · 15 February 2009 · Chapter 13: It Comes In Pints

*grin* This time I find I agree with Thranduil and Legolas - don't like beer, either ;)

Author's reply

Nor me - can you tell?

Ces · 13 February 2009 · Chapter 13: It Comes In Pints

Poor Thranduil! Probably couldn't wait to get back to his nice, safe cave. I bet he headed straight for the wine cellar and the barrel of Dorwinion! Cute story! I always wish they were longer though (even if they are called drabbles!) BTW, how are Elrohir and Taniquel? Ces

Author's reply

Poor Thranduil is right! This was something of a culture shock for him. Elrohir and Taniquel are fine - and I'm still working on that post-LOTR fic with them!

Larner · 12 February 2009 · Chapter 13: It Comes In Pints

Heh! The local brew is not up to their taste, then? I see! No, bring them wine instead!

Author's reply

The men of Laketown probably thought this was a treat!

Agape4Gondor · 12 February 2009 · Chapter 13: It Comes In Pints

Hey! Wait a minute! That sounds like a great tankard of Guinness! How could he pour it away.......... Shees! Sometimes one has to wonder about Elves....

Author's reply

No, not Guinness - just third rate, very bitter ale. No wonder Legolas threw his away!

Agape4Gondor · 12 February 2009 · Chapter 12: Red, Red Wine

Hooray! Hooray! You got me! I just love it when I'm surprised - and this was sweet and perfect and cinnamonny - and from Ithilien... WOW - Excellen!

Author's reply

Thank you! I can just see Legolas making wine down in Ithilien, and who better to taste the first vintage than Thranduil?

6336 · 12 February 2009 · Chapter 13: It Comes In Pints

Obviously, Gandalf did not put a spell of surpassing exellance on their beer! More please, Lynda

Author's reply

It sounds like this could have done with Gandalf's help, doesn't it?

Nieriel Raina · 12 February 2009 · Chapter 13: It Comes In Pints

*snort* Great drabble, Jay! :)

Author's reply

Thanks! This one was fun to visualize.

elliska · 12 February 2009 · Chapter 13: It Comes In Pints

ROTFLMAO! This was a scream! The idea of Thranduil and beer is hilarious, but Legolas is a riot in this.

Author's reply

I've focused on Thranduil for the whole of this 'Food and Drink' challenge, but wasn't sure at first how to do 'Beer' as I knew he'd hate it! It's a shame Legolas didn't think to warn his father :>)

Kitty · 7 February 2009 · Chapter 12: Red, Red Wine

Great praise indeed, coming from Thranduil!

Author's reply

*Grin* And he should know ...

Kitty · 7 February 2009 · Chapter 11: No Son Of Mine

*LOL* Of course, Thranduil's mother didn't feed him with milk, but with wine :D

Author's reply

**Grin** Of course not ...
