Estelcontar · 8 June 2009 · Chapter 5: Alone at the Feast

That is a most affecting drabble. Moments like this must indeed have been very bittersweet for Aragorn, who had to wait for so long for his heart's desire.

Estelcontar · 8 June 2009 · Chapter 4: Apprehension

It's no wonder Aragorn did not wish to fumble at such an auspicious moment in his kinsman and friend's life. A most wonderful drabble.

Estelcontar · 8 June 2009 · Chapter 3: Respite

That was a most delightful drabble, Linda. Very visual too. It was lovely to see Aragorn and Halbarad taking a break from their cares and just enjoying themselves. The imagery of care and clothes being cast aside was very apt too.

A nice addition to the previous piece. I knew I was a Ranger at heart although I prefer to make elderflower rather than elderberry wine!

Raksha The Demon · 6 June 2009 · Chapter 3: Respite

Nothing like a dip in the water on a hot day - good to see the hard-working, hard-living Rangers relaxing.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm so pleased you enjoyed the drabble. I based it on memories of going on a coach trip on a hot day to a waterfall many years ago. On arrival, everyone, shed shoes and stockings and jumped in the water!

Raksha The Demon · 6 June 2009 · Chapter 6: No Common Soldier

Poor Denethor had no idea who he was dealing with here, did he?! Excellent little ficlet.

grumpy · 4 June 2009 · Chapter 8: Fit For a King?

Ah! Dragon's breath, what a good name for a beer, and of course Aragorn would like some.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.Raksha thought up the name which I think most appropriate!

harrowcat · 1 June 2009 · Chapter 8: Fit For a King?

Given the choice between wine and a good pint of hand pulled ale I will take the beer every time! Seems like I am in good company :)

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I only tasted beer once and hated it,so I would have to share a glass of wine with Faramir! Aragorn wouldn't think much of me!

harrowcat · 1 June 2009 · Chapter 7: Empty Places

Yes, by the valour of many did he win the crown. I can well imagine empty places left to mark the fallen. Great Linda.

That is a beautiful sentiment, Linda, and I'm certain it was true for Aragorn.

Larner · 31 May 2009 · Chapter 8: Fit For a King?

You can take the Ranger out of the wilds and make him King, but you can't necessarily take the Ranger out of the King! Heh!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. That is so true!

Larner · 28 May 2009 · Chapter 6: No Common Soldier

A perfect response to Denethor's assumption that Gondor's northern kin should be unlettered and untaught! Love it, Linda!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you enjoyed this drabble which almost stumped me in the challenge.

Larner · 28 May 2009 · Chapter 5: Alone at the Feast

This must indeed seem a bittersweet moment for Aragorn, for he must come through so much before he might even think to know his own heart's desire!

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Times like this must have been so difficult for our favourite Ranger.

Larner · 19 May 2009 · Chapter 4: Apprehension

Estelcontar · 14 May 2009 · Chapter 2: Empty Handed

A most poignant glimpse at the hard life of the Dúnedain. It's good that it also reminds us how important Elrond's friendship was to their survival.

Raksha The Demon · 14 May 2009 · Chapter 2: Empty Handed

A sobering reflection on the Dunedain lifestyle. Living off the land, and the forest, can be dangerous if the game is scarce.

Author's reply

Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I would imagine from the hints Tolkien gave us that life could be very hard indeed for Aragorn's people.
