I forgot to add about Haleth's age. If she is the granddaughter of Elendil and a first cousin of Isildur and Anarion who were born in the Second Age 3209 and 3219 respectfully, that means she could have been born around the same time (between 3250 and 3300 of the Second Age)a few decades after Isildur and Anarion. Also, Ar-Pharazon died 3319 of the Second Age. Haleth was born in the last century of the Second Age which lasted for about 3441 years and the Third age lasted for about 3021 years. If she met Inglor and went with him to Valinor by the time Aragorn became king of the Reunited Kingdomsas stated in the story; which is the beginning of the Forth Age, that would make her about 2800 to 3000 years old, give or take a century or two. I found this very interesting timeline wise.

Also, after reading a past review that the author confirmed as to Haleth's (Silmarien)connection to being a descendant of Elros. That being a grandchild of Amandil and a first cousin of Isildur and Anarion through her mother, the sister of Elendil. Also, the author stated that not many of Elros's female descendants are added onto the family tree unless they were rulers or a connection was important to note.

After reading this story again, I came up with a theory that Inglor must be Finrod, son of Fingolfin based on information from this site http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Inglor_Felagund. If I'm wrong please describe more clearly who his parents are. Hope to see a new update soon.

Oh, I just love this story and hope you will continue with it. Question ---- how would have Haleth been able to go to Valinor if she had not been given lempe? Would not she have died as all mortals taken to Valinor unbidden? How could Inglor risk her life? Any response would be much appreciated!

Arctic Sunshine · 31 January 2017 · Chapter 47: Chase and Reveal

Your update inspired me to read all of it again. You do truly spin a remarkable story. Thank you for bringing it to us!

Egallis · 6 December 2016 · Chapter 47: Chase and Reveal

I was just so happy to see this update posted! And to finally see who is following! So someone doesn't want them to find the sleepers, hm? This story only gets better with each chapter. Anxiously looking forward to the next installment!

YAHO0, you're back. I really missed your updates. Someday I may have to re-read this wonderful story. Can't wait for the next installment.

lmamc · 4 December 2016 · Chapter 47: Chase and Reveal

Yay! another chapter, this was great. I think Ecthelion just feels his responsibility as her guardian and takes it very seriously. I think he feels that this is his second change to do his job right. I think Haleth and Inglor both are the trouble makers in the family.

curiouswombat · 4 December 2016 · Chapter 47: Chase and Reveal

Oh hurrah for a new chapter! Thank you. I am so glad that Inglor understands why Haleth is so upset at Ecthelion following them. And how interesting if she has developed a version of the sea longing thanks to Inglor dosing her with limpë. I really do look forward to you having the time and inclination to write a little more some time :)

Delighted to see this story resumed! I have enjoyed it over the years and have revisited Haleth's saga more than once. The dilemma of a mortal immortal, with her backstory in Numenor, unfold so naturally. And of course with the pathos (even tragedy) it is very, very funny, the humor always arising from character and situation. Thank you!

Rana · 31 August 2016 · Chapter 46: A Conversation with the Shipwright

As always, your stories call me back like a beloved old friend to revisit them! I am always happy to re- read your beautifully written stories. I just wanted to let you know just how much I enjoy your stories! Hope all is well with you. Best wishes to you!

Shieara · 14 March 2016 · Chapter 46: A Conversation with the Shipwright

It's really a shame that this hasn't been updated. It's one of my favorite Middle-Earth fan fictions. Discontinued or not I just wanted to drop by to say how much I enjoyed reading it :)

PSW · 1 March 2016 · Chapter 46: A Conversation with the Shipwright

Oh no! What a place to end!! I'm so enjoying this story. I'm enjoying Haleth and Inglor's forays into their new relationship, of course. But I also love that you brought Idril and Tuor into it! I have long wanted to write about them, I was excited to see someone else do it. I hope someday you'll pick this back up. Either way, thanks for writing!

Rana · 26 January 2015 · Chapter 46: A Conversation with the Shipwright

Yay! A new chapter! It was awesome as always. Keep it up! I love your stories.:-)

Fiondil · 5 January 2015 · Chapter 46: A Conversation with the Shipwright

Yes, by all means, leave us with a cliffhanger. It's got to be Inglor who's following, I have no doubt. So will Círdan go look for all the other lost souls trapped in the Enchanted Isles? That would be a worthy task. Glad to see you're still writing, Haleth. I always look forward to your updates.

curiouswombat · 5 January 2015 · Chapter 46: A Conversation with the Shipwright

Círdan is fast becoming a favourite of mine, here! I really enjoyed this conversation and I can see him and Haleth getting on very well.

lmamc · 5 January 2015 · Chapter 46: A Conversation with the Shipwright

OMG!, another chapter, it has been a long time since the lat one. Shame on you for leaving us in the dark for so long... but this chapter made up for it. It would be so nice if you could upload a new one every week but I understand that people are busy and have lives of their own. So, all I can say is, great chapter and upload the next one soon.

Author's reply

Hello Imamc Thank-you for the review. I'm afraid it's been even longer between updates this time. I can't promise a new chapter every week but I can try for a new chapter each month.

Aranadhel · 4 January 2015 · Chapter 46: A Conversation with the Shipwright

Happy new year to you Haleth! :D Have been following this story of yours since last year and it was a pleasant surprise to read this new chapter. Yeay! Please keep going ya? :D

Author's reply

Thank-you for the review, Aranadhel. I will finish this story and it won't be another two or three years before I post again.

Tibblets · 7 December 2014 · Chapter 45: The Ethics of Borrowing

Nice story. Hope you update soon.

lmamc · 8 October 2014 · Chapter 45: The Ethics of Borrowing

I would like to add that Haleth who's real name is Silmarien is named after an ancestress (Elros's great great grand-daughter), so Haleth in my opinion would be considered Silmarien II. Also, in chapter 19 during the flashback part Haleth's uncle was saying to Amandil "it shall be done as you say father" and more dialogue. Then four lines down Amandil says "Elendil, we have discussed this time and again." In other parts of the story Haleth (Silmarien) referred to Isildur and Anarion as cousins and Amandil as grandfather. This leads me to believe that Haleth's mother or father is the sibling of Elendil even though in the family tree Elendil is an only child, see this web address:(http://www.tolkiengateway.net/wiki/House_of_Elros). However, I do know that this information is authors creativity at work.

Tari · 9 September 2014 · Chapter 45: The Ethics of Borrowing

A bearded elf? This is the first time I have ever read of one, but then why not? Poor Haleth is really having a time of it. Adjusting to a new lifestyle is not always easy. Speaking of Haleth, how are you doing?

Twoflower2 · 8 September 2014 · Chapter 45: The Ethics of Borrowing

Greetings, Haleth. Thank you for the update - it was badly needed. I am very glad Haleth found and elf who reminds an angry bear in temper if not in looks. At least now she can snap at someone and get snapped at back. Idril is obviously game for borrowing and other dubious but efficient behaviour - she and Haleth can do great deeds together :) The chapter is very funny, and like a previous reviewer, I do suspect Olwe's plotting behind Cirdan's nice offer. New interesting hints about Inglor's standing in the Valinorean community. So he is almost, but not quite, persona non grata? Not quite received in the best society, like Haleth was in Middle-Earth? What has he done? Somehow I feel his misdeeds, whatever they are, run farther back than just bringing a second-born to Aman. An born at the age of the Trees? How come Idril doesn't know him then. I assume everyone knew everyone in Tirion. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Rana · 7 September 2014 · Chapter 45: The Ethics of Borrowing

YAY!!! A new chapter!!! :-) Part of me is wondering if Olwë and Círdan planned the whole thing with the boats to prevent any grumbling from the elves Olwë governs... I love the image of Idril Being compared to a bear. It makes me think of Haleth a bit. I wonder if it is a family trait?
