Hai · 1 October 2003 · Chapter 9999: Epilogue: Put a Fork In It

That was a wonderful ending! I particularly enjoyed following Boromir and Aragorn's story! So much fun. I like you you developed the way certain characters reacted to each other and how in the end they pretty much get along. I also like Elrond and how you wrote hime, I would think he would be difficult to write and there are few that right him well, and you are one of them! Thank you! It was wonderful and I hope I can look forward to more!

Hai · 30 September 2003 · Chapter 35: Journey to Darkness and Shadow

Really weird, while I was reading this chapter you loaded the rest! I can't finish it now so I will review. I like how Aragorn looks bad enough to pass for an orc! lol, wonderful! Poor Frodo, all the misunderstandings! I bet he was glad to see Gandalf! I must tell you the fight and make up session bewteen Legolas's older siblings made me teary. I'm glad they are all getting along again. I hope this is the start of Legolas and Gimli getting along! Maybe the journey back to Imladris won't be so bad for poor Glorfindel! Speaking of him, he does a wonderful job politically with Thranduil. Can't wait until I can finish it! Thank you!

Hiro-tyre · 29 September 2003 · Chapter 1: Disagreeable Characters

HAI! I can't wait to read the rest of this!

Miriel · 29 September 2003 · Chapter 35: Journey to Darkness and Shadow

Wow. Those were dark, yet poignant, discriptions of the dying trees. I could feel Legolas' pain for his beleoved trees. I like your backstory. It never occured to me that Thranduil might be worried about losing another son, just that he was a stubborn old coot. Well, at least the brothers made up. It's sad to think that Lhun might have left while they were still angry at him. Once again, another excellent chapter.

miriel · 29 September 2003 · Chapter 34: When the Bough Breaks

Hm. This chapter was a bit darker than any previous. I must feel for Lhun, although he did not have the bast choice of words, his brother would most certainly be more than enough to provoke him to great anger. I loved the way the morning grew darker with Thraundiul's mood. I also loved Legolas's changing the weather constantly. It is probably for the best that Glorfindel goes with them-wherever they are going. Something that I've noticed, and enjoyed, about this story is that you show everyone's POV, especially the forgotten characters, like Shadowfax (NO,I'm reviewing, not talking to you. No, I refuse to brush you again!)and Glorfindel. Especially Glorfindel. My pity for the elf-lord is great. My home is always open to him. (Alhtough Shadowfax might not take so kindly to the idea!) I must say, I loved the part where Glorfindel punched the other elf. LOL!

Miriel · 29 September 2003 · Chapter 33: Heroes of a Smaller Sort

*Lets out huge sigh of releif* Imagine the joy I felt when Gandalf finally found Frodo! Hooray! Merry's exercises reminded me of my own physical therapy. Heehee. I can't wait to see how the slingshot thing plays out. Cheers!

Miriel · 29 September 2003 · Chapter 32: Please Do Not Feed the Spiders

First, slight typo ‘Surely I do not so terrible' It is the thought of Aragorn's, and I believe that you mean "look so terrible." Legolas really is stupid isnt' he? To attack Gimli-in his own quarters nonetheless. The spiders and squirells are hysterical, as Gimli's enraged reaction. Too bad that he didn't remember that he had soaped the floor. *winces* Thranduil. Ouch. At least he won't be mad at Gimli...

Miriel · 29 September 2003 · Chapter 31: Two Bags of Tricks and One up the Sleeve

Ah, once again I am loving this story! Yes, I received him yesterday. Although it was hard at first to hide him in my room and feed him (He refused to eat the table scraps that I brought him) I have built him a stable in the backyard and he is quite happy. (Yes, it has a mirror.) I will send him back when needed. That is funny. Bird! Big! Conquer! Anyway, poor Gimli. I loved his careful "elf-proofing" of the room. Overly cautious perhaps, but after all that he has been through, do you blame him? *Winces* I *almost* feel sorry for Thraunduil's sons when they face the wrath of their father. *Almost.* My symapathies, in this case, are with Gimli. It looks like Mallos won't be getting out of trouble as easily this time... Alas, too bad that Halbarad never got to wear that dress. (Halbarad? Is there something that you want to tell us? :) I'm with Aragorn on this one. Die, son of Denathor! How on earth will they get out of this mess? I loved Boromir's mental picture of Eowyn. If he only knew... Perhaps he would "try" some of his "charms" out on her!

Miriel · 26 September 2003 · Chapter 30: This is the House that Oropher Built

*Gasp* Who is the fourth figure? Elbereth help them indeed. i can only imagince Thranduils aner when he finds that all of his (most) sons have teamed up together. Uh-oh. I smell troulbe. Thank the Valar for Glorfindel! Without him...surely the ringquest would have failed. "Shadowfax!" *Looks under rock* "Where are you?" May I be his keeper? *Begs* (Wait-did I ask already? *Shrugs.* oh well.) I love this! It is SO funny! Thankyou for the endless amurement!

Miriel · 26 September 2003 · Chapter 29: The First of Many Partings

Hmm...the poor Mysian...she shall never see Borofara again...ah, well. I liked the few acorns that were thrown at Boromir. I hope that htey don't see any townspeople in their present condition. Instead of "Blackriders!" It will be Orcs! With far less questions asked. Poor, poor Glorfindel...

Miriel · 26 September 2003 · Chapter 28: Off of the Mountain and Into the Woods

Oh, huzza! I am glad that Borofara has found "love" at last. The singed eyeborws and hair..still LOL about that one... Hmm...as everyone else is taken, may I care for poor Shadowfax?

Miriel · 26 September 2003 · Chapter 27: Wrong Impressions

Ah, I shall take this in parts. Part 1: Shadowfax. He is truly one of the best parts of the story. A mirror in his stall! Whatever was Theoden thinking? I believe that a come-uppance is in the making. What a way to get back at all of the deer- to make himself sick in the process-hah! Part 2: Pippin. Of course, he would kiss all of the babies. Just out of curiousity, what made the townspeople think that the eagle was evil? The fact that it was large? Poor Frodo...all alone. *cries* Part 3: Merry's drawings! I make sure that I am alone when I read your stories as I am screaming with laughter ussually. This killed me. Killing Elrond...oo, is he sneaky. Part 4: They finally noticed that the horse is missing? Hmm..I wonder how they will go about finding her... Cheers!

Miriel · 26 September 2003 · Chapter 26: Lost and Found

Imagine my delight when I found that Halbarad's plan shall be carried through after all! Splendid! Apparently Denathor's romance novels had more truth to them then previously thought? Excellent chapter. Off to read of Shadowfax! *Sigh* For all of his egostisticallness (Is that a word?) I still love him. And I don't really like horses. I've been testing the "Backward elvish" and found that it works quite splendidly. Thank you for the excellent idea. (I can use it, can't I? It's not copyrighted or anything? :)

Miriel · 26 September 2003 · Chapter 21: Trial and Errors, Part II

Oh, goodnesss! I was wondering what had happened to Boromir's plan! I'm glad that you put it in!! Fair maiden was not so swooned as Boromir would fain have desired, eh?

Hai · 26 September 2003 · Chapter 30: This is the House that Oropher Built

Oh, my! I guess Shadwofax's ego is a little wounded now, lol. It should do him so good I would think. Though it may have been bravery misplaced Pippin and Sam were very sweet in their insitance that Frodo leave. Oh, dear four hobbits go missing and it seems like three are about to be reunited of course none of them are the one caring the Ring. I liked Merry drawing Elrond's demise on his paper. I think I still have TONS of pity for Glorfindel! That poor Captain putting up with Legolas and Gimli then facing King Thranduil, this is not his year! What viciuos plot have the prince's of Mirkwood thought up now? Looking forward to more!

Hai · 19 September 2003 · Chapter 25: The Bear, the Rangers, and Their Wardrobe

I liked the hobbits being mistaken for Elves and how Pippin, never caring, decided to go ahead and impersonate them. Lovely! I hope Allin doesn't end up in too much trouble. Maybe Shadowfax will catch up to GAndalf and the Elvish Mare now. I hope the Eagles don't cause anymore trouble! I really LOVED Boromir being hung and deciding who he would haunt. Poor, guy beat by a girl and then hung like theif. I hope he doesn't end up in too much more trouble. How is it going to get worse for Legolas and Gimli's scouting party? I know it must since Legolas wondered what could possible go wrong. lol, I found it amusing that Gimli shot Legolas. They seem to punish each other more then they pull ahead of one another. I'm looking forward to more! Thank you!

Miss Aranel · 18 September 2003 · Chapter 1: Disagreeable Characters

Hey there! I've never read this before, though I've heard of it. I thought I'd review through SoA since feedback's low here. Already I'm enjoying myself--I esp. liked Gloin's musings on the Elve's nature names and his scrutiny of Legolas--and the squeak of rage. *g* -Aranel

Miriel · 17 September 2003 · Chapter 25: The Bear, the Rangers, and Their Wardrobe

Many thanks to Aralanthiriel for her care and keeping of "Boz." I would like to see how they get out of that one. By the way, I did notice a teeny typo that you might wish to correct: "‘Legolas his bleeding" I think you meant Legolas is bleeding. Anyway, I simply love this story. I am most interested in Shadowfax's well being. If he is injured...*Weeps* Update Soon!

Miriel · 17 September 2003 · Chapter 25: The Bear, the Rangers, and Their Wardrobe

Many thanks to Aralathan

Miriel · 17 September 2003 · Chapter 24: If You Give a Dwarf an Arrow

Ooh! *CLaps hands* Dressed as a woman...and last we heard of Boromir he was intent on giving a fair maiden a kiss. Mayhap this fair maiden be, um, NOT a fair maiden? (EEww! Funny. But Eeww!) Why did the warg walk away? Was he simply overwhelmed at the terrible archery? I do hope that Legolas doesn't decide to attack Gimli!

Arwen Baggins · 17 September 2003 · Chapter 3: Laws of Motion

Just out of curiosity, when in the movies does it say that Legolas is 2,000 years old? I thought I had memorized both of them, and I can't seem to remember that part. By the way, I'll be back to actually review this story later. I haven't actually read this story, I'm "pasting" the first few chapteres onto Microsoft word so that I can get off-line and open up the telephone for calls, we don't have DSL yet, darn it! I just thought I'd ask. Don't worry, this is not my last word on this story.

Miriel · 17 September 2003 · Chapter 22: Fatherly Love and the Frodohobbit

*Cheers at quick update* Heehee. "Why do you have yo make your elbows so pointy?" LOL. I love "snoreleaf." I must begin to spell things backwards in my storied, that would definatly save some time. :) Once again, I simply love Shadofax and his arragance. I do believe that this is the first time I have read anything from his POV. Cheers!

Hai · 15 September 2003 · Chapter 20: Trial and Errors, Part I

Oh, dear. *laughs* I like the picture that forms in my mind for a Glorfindel that has lost most his hair, but I am sorry that he has had to put up with this scouting party! Now Borofara :) is in prison. I hope he doesn't rot too much before he can be rescued. I like how you have built up the relationship between Boromir and Aragorn. Wonderful job! I hope the hobbits are able to be found soon. I like how Shadowfax treated Gandalf and then was insulted! Now Merry is stuck in Imladris! I hope he doesn't try anything foolish. Looking froward to more! Thank you!

Author's reply

Hai- Glorfindel will definitely deserve some serious vacation time after the mission has been complete. Elrond owes him BIGTIME. :) Ah yes, it looks like plans are in order to rescue Boromir. Leave it up to the Rangers' Finest to hatch a fool-proof plan. *lol* Shadowfax's ego seems to have taken a life of its own--and that definitely can't be a good thing. I'm sure Merry will find something to keep himself occupied with during his down time. ;) Thank you for the fantastic review!!! ~bryn

Miriel · 15 September 2003 · Chapter 20: Trial and Errors, Part I

"lasta berta nin hilo jigger thingy woooo.” I loved Merry imitating Elrond. Thsi could get him into much trouble in later chapters. Ah, Boromir and his dilusions...methinks that the fair maiden would feign slap then be swooned... Loving it! Update soon!

Author's reply

Miriel- *grin* Poor Boromir does need a little help in the romance department, it would appear. His method of approaching the situation points towards a most undesirable result. Then again, I suppose he'll have to figure that out for himself. ;) Oooh, thank you for the response in regards to the italicizing bit. And thank you for the great reviews!!! ~bryn

Miriel · 15 September 2003 · Chapter 17: It All Goes Up In Smoke

'Elf.' 'Dwarf.' Heehee. Elven braids as well as beards...oh no! How will either ever regain their dignity. And I thought that Gimli and Legolas might actually get along...silly me.
