Ah, good, at least Glorfindel senses that there is something wrong and he has some idea of how to find out, now if only Sam can remember what was said!?
Huggs,
Lynda
Author's reply
Ahhhh... there are ways! Thank you so much for reading, Lynda.

Oooh, what a terrible beginning. And I mean that in a good way, Shirebound. LOL! Excellent! Can't wait to see what you end up doing to Aragorn, as if he doesn't have enough on his plate, poor boy. Glad to see you back. Your stories are always a delight.
Author's reply
Thank you so much, Fiondil. It's good to *be* back! I'm very happy to be writing again.

So glad to see you writing again. A very suspenseful and tense opening indeed.
Author's reply
Thank you, my friend. The Professor went to all that trouble of bringing the knife hilt into the story, but left it to us to figure out what to do with it.

Hi ShireBound
Interesting premise, let's hope somebody in Imlardris knows what could have happened and is able to drive out the Nazgul who is hunkered down in Aragorns mind.
Huggs,
Lynda
Author's reply
Let's hope so! Thank you for reading, Lynda, and for brainstorming with me about this story.

Wow! That was a very clever, evil, idea. I can only imagine how much trouble this is likely to cause before the secret is revealed. This is a very exciting beginning indeed. I look forward to more.
Author's reply
Thank you so much. It's challenging to come up with new ideas after so many years. Glad you're enjoying it so far!

WOOT! I saw this while doing my usual Saturday SOA check and wow---I was shocked to see it and so pleasantly surprised!
I've been looking forward to this for a very long time, and it's wonderful to see it not only for the story itself, but well, it's just very exciting to have a new Shirebound story!
This really is a brilliant idea here. I love it when authors take small, seemingly insignificant statements out of the books and turn them into stories and "what might have beens." Because of course Glorfindel would not have given Aragorn such a warning unless there was, indeed, a danger.
This was a very chilling first chapter... just perfect. It certainly shows us how evil the wraiths were, and of course, a bit more of their sorcery---we don't see too much of that in the books and I'm positive the wraiths were capable of some very terrible, terrible things.
Oh, I'm so looking forward to more! You can't imagine.
Author's reply
Lily, you know how long I've been dying to start this story! I just have to take it slow and easy. I'm excited to finally post the beginning, and dive back into all the notes I've scribbled.
Bless the Professor for all the details he gave us to play with. I always thought he meant to get back to that hilt, but (thankfully) never did.
Yays and wheeees. :)

Oh yikes, major major yikes!!! What a great idea for a story and a great start to the story itself. Very chilling! So glad you're writing again. :)

I'm so glad, too! It's wonderful to be diving back into writing *finally*. Aragorn h/c, yay.

Wow! What a beginning!
Of course we all know that someone will use the Black Speech (Gandalf) and that Elrond will be very angry about him doing so. But to think that it could be the "trigger" of Dark Magic! Oh my!
On the other hand ... this IS a Shirebound Story :-) (Or have you changed your attitude?)
Author's reply
Andrea, you KNOW this is a Shirebound Story. No fear on that count! :)
I'm glad you like this beginning. It's so wonderful to be writing again.

Oh my, and Gandalf is going to use the Black Speech at Elrond's council! This is a really intriguing start of a story, I'm looking forwards to the h/c!
Author's reply
Thank you so much. Quick, someone warn Gandalf to keep quiet with all that Black Speech!
