Beautiful! I love the bond between Arwen and Aragorn and how you wove your own tapestry, bringing in that joyful moment on Cerin Amroth. *happy sigh* On to the last chapter. :-)

Author's reply

You sweetie. "Weaving a tapestry" is exactly what I try to do with these tales.

Cairistiona · 6 May 2012 · Chapter 12: The Road Ahead

That was a lovely and fitting end to this story! I'm very sorry to see the tale end but what could be better than a story that ends with a peaceful Aragorn, sleeping and dreaming sweet dreams in the sun with his love there beside him. *happy sigh*

Author's reply

High praise from an Aragorn writer! That image makes me happy, too. It took me a very long time to write stories in which hobbits were integral, but not the complete focus. Goodness, I'll miss writing this story.

lavendertook · 6 May 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

I missed when you posted this! Oh what a sweet chapter. How scary you make it for Arwen bringing in the memory of Celebrian. How lovely to be back in Lothlorien with them! I loved when the cavern walls shattered. And what a cute ending to lighten the mood just right. (-:

Author's reply

Thank you! There's nothing like hobbits (or the thought of them) to lighten even the darkest moment. I'm so happy you enjoyed this chapter... it was one of the more difficult ones to write.

Antane · 6 May 2012 · Chapter 12: The Road Ahead

Happy anniversary, my dear! Thank you for such a sweet gift! I think Gandalf may have it wrong when he said one should have a hobbit in his care, more correct would be one should be under the care of a hobbit or two or three or four... :) You know you could do a epilogue and have them fussing over getting him ready to go out and watching over him especially carefully in the first stage of the Quest... just a little bunny looking hopefully at you... Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

Having hobbits in our care (or being under the care of hobbits); how lovely that we can imagine so many scenarios on this theme! Thank you for your kind words, and the little bunny. You never know... :)

Addie71 · 6 May 2012 · Chapter 12: The Road Ahead

What a lovely way to end this story: with concerned hobbits at mealtime and a loving life's partner. I enjoyed this tale very much.

Author's reply

Thank you, Addie. This was one of many endings I hadn't planned in advance, but I wanted to weave as much banter and love into the chapter as possible.

6336 · 6 May 2012 · Chapter 12: The Road Ahead

Good to see Aragorn back on his feet, albeit a little shakey and trust the Hobbits to see him fed and taken care of, they are the masters of H/C! Now to rest up for the long journey ahead! Good one Shirebound! Huggs, LYnda

Author's reply

Thank you. I enjoy writing hobbits as caregivers as much as when they need care themselves. Much of my joy in LOTR comes from the way such disparate characters learn to respect one another, show the best in themselves, and help us to be inspired by truly unconditional friendship.

curiouswombat · 6 May 2012 · Chapter 12: The Road Ahead

Congratulations on your anniversary - and a hobbit meal seems the very best way to celebrate!

Author's reply

Thank you. I just enjoyed a large, hobbity breakfast myself, to celebrate Aragorn's recovery and my anniversary! :)

Dreamflower · 6 May 2012 · Chapter 12: The Road Ahead

What a beautiful, fun, warm and thoroughly hobbity ending to this story! I have enjoyed it very much, and am only sorry (as usual) to see it end...but I know that sooner or later there will be another. Happy anniversary and congratulations on ten years of delighting your friends with warm love and hobbits!

Author's reply

Thank you so much! Writing hobbits and h/c, and sharing these tales with my friends... what a satisfying way to spend ten years!

Linda Hoyland · 20 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

I just loved this chapter and to see Arwen lead Aragorn safely back. What a great idea to use her to help him.

Author's reply

Thank you so much. What a joy for all of them that Aragorn has been guided safely 'home'.

Linda Hoyland · 20 April 2012 · Chapter 10: A Breath of Hope

Poor Aragorn to be trapped in such a nightmare. A gripping chapter.

Author's reply

Thank you. That would be horrific, wouldn't it?

Layne · 20 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

That particular part of the appendix is my favourite and I used to wish that Tolkien had written that as a proper part of the trilogy instead of just in the appendix :) Lovelovelove it that Arwen used that particular memory of them together to bring Aragorn back from the darkness. ::LOVES::

Author's reply

Thank you! I began this chapter with only vague ideas, and let it take me where it needed to go.

Xenfëa · 19 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

Aragorn smiled sleepily. “I smell apple cake.” That, certainly made me laugh! I just love how hobbits are able to bring out the blissful innocence of joy and laughter to us all. Great chapter! Keep it coming! :)

Author's reply

Thank you! I love weaving the delightful nature and influence of hobbits into my tales.

Lily Baggins · 19 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

Oh, that last line is perfect... never forget those hobbits! That was adorable. This chapter was so full of renewal and light and sweetness... I thoroughly enjoyed it. Arwen picked the perfect memory for them... what a beautiful image you created of that. Thank goodness Aragorn responded to it! Poor thing! This chapter gave me a joyous feeling---that's something I really do love about your writing. It made me feel good through and through.

Author's reply

Your enjoyment gives *me* a joyous feeling, Lily. Hopefully our beloved characters don't mind what we put them through, because it allows those who love them to 'show their quality' and then pour on the TLC. :)

Dreamflower · 17 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

What a beautiful chapter! Yes, indeed that memory of Cerin Amroth would bring him around if anything would. Arwen is so strong here, as she draws the picture for him that he needs to remember. I love your portrayal here of their interaction, and how Aragorn trusted her to lead him out of danger. And I hope he enjoys his apple cake!

Author's reply

So glad you enjoyed this. Arwen would have to be a strong person to endure the loss of so much, and grow into the helper and partner King Elessar would need. It's wonderful that they found one another (with Galadriel's help, of course). Apple cake is one of the few things I know how to make... but I'm sure my recipe can't compare with that of Rivendell's bakers. :)

Larner · 17 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

It is well that he was finally called forth by love. And of course he'd know the Hobbits had been there by the evidence of his senses, now he's back to himself! Lovely!

Author's reply

Called forth by love... a most powerful Call indeed. Thank you!

Fiondil · 17 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

Well, at least the fever is broken. What do you have in store for Aragorn next? I can't believe he's gotten scot-free from the evil influence. I'm sure you have something else up your devious sleeve. LOL!

Author's reply

Alas, there's always a point in every story where the deviousness must end and the comfort must begin. (But perhaps there's a teensy tiny bit of healing still to come.)

Antane · 17 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

Yea, another chapter! I love how Arwen called her love back and also how Elrond was able to temporarily aid his beloved. I hope you don't mind if I steal that for a story or two myself in the future. What a wonderful idea! :) Wonderfully portrayed was Aragorn's prison and his thoughts on that and how it wasn't real but to him it was. Of course love Pippin's words at the beginning. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

You're certainly welcome to use that idea, Antane. Any time someone can ease another's suffering -- especially someone they love -- it's a good thing. I'm very happy you enjoyed this chapter. :)

Andrea · 17 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

That was indeed the perfect vision to share with Aragorn and bring him back! Apple cake? *grins* Aragorn knows his hobbits well. And he should be very pleased that Pippin's affection and concern for him was greater than his appetite :-)

Author's reply

Dear Pippin! He does tend to do the right thing at the right time, and sometimes even for the right reasons. :)

6336 · 17 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

Oh, beautiful! You pack a lot of imagery into a few words! Aragorn knows his Hobbits! Huggs, Lynda

Author's reply

Thank you; what a lovely compliment!

Larner · 17 April 2012 · Chapter 10: A Breath of Hope

Somehow I'm tickled at the thought of Arwen as the cavalry in this case! Hooray!

Author's reply

Thank you! I hope you enjoy the arrival of the cavalry in chapter 11. :)

addie71 · 17 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

This was so beautiful; it brought tears to my eyes. But then, the ending made me laugh and smile. How well he knows these hobbits! Loved this chapter!

Author's reply

Oh Addie, thank you. I'm so glad this chapter gave you warm fuzzy feelings. Our dear 'Strider' has already learned much about hobbits. :)

Cairistiona · 17 April 2012 · Chapter 11: A Soft Summer Day

Awwww.... awwww.... awww....! I don't know where to begin! What a lovely healing chapter. I've been longing to read a fic where Arwen is the healer and this was perfection. I love how you weaved in a bit about Celebrian without letting the angst of that situation overpower the story here. It just added a nice detail. Arwen's answer of simply kissing Aragorn's hand made me melt, and it seemed so like Aragorn to immediately want to know what happened! Elrond's tenderness and then finaly the humor at the end--it was all just right. *happy sigh*

Author's reply

I'm absolutely delighted that you enjoyed this. I get as impatient as anyone else for the 'hurt' to ease and the 'comfort' to begin.

Xenfea · 13 April 2012 · Chapter 10: A Breath of Hope

I'm glad I decided to venture into the realms of this site! Otherwise I would shave missed this fic! The plot's definitely original, and ! can't wait to see what happens next! Keep it coming yeah? :D

Author's reply

Thank you so much! What a lovely and encouraging review. After ten years of writing fanfic, it's challenging to come up with original plots; I'm so pleased you're enjoying this. I should be able to get chapter 11 posted next week.

lbilover · 2 April 2012 · Chapter 10: A Breath of Hope

Better late than never, as they say. And awwww, I love how the hobbits take care of everyone in this chapter, and that Pippin is the one who figures out how to help Aragorn's fever. I can just picture him blushing with pride. :))) Thanks for another delightful chapter!!

Author's reply

Awwwwww, thank you so much for the delightful and much-appreciated review. Our dear hobbits... they just have our hearts, don't they?

Layne · 20 March 2012 · Chapter 10: A Breath of Hope

So lovely is the image of Pippin singing to Aragorn that I can almost hear his sweet voice in my head. And I *knew* that Arwen would be the one bringing Aragorn back! *dances*

Author's reply

You're a clever one! I'm glad you're enjoying how this is going.
