Agape4Gondor · 25 June 2012 · Chapter 24: courage born out of despair

Whoo hooo! A tense and awesome chapter. Great fight scene. The foolishness of the southern Elves. The courage of Galadhion and his troops. Elladan and Elrohir. I thought sure the Crown Prince was a goner - but you did well. It was splendid looking into the face of Glorfindel - absolutely splendid. One of the best chapters yet!

Author's reply

Hi Agape, thank you so much. I´m not that good at battle descriptions but obviously this one worked! With help Galadhion had made it, yes! The appearance of Glorfindel and Celeborn was most fun zu write. Again thanks for a most appreciated review. Lai

Fiondil · 19 June 2012 · Chapter 23: death is too much mercy

Well, we still don't know if Saeron and the children survived but hopefully they have. Glad to see Thoran in custody. Hanging is too good for that snake, as the saying goes. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter.

Author's reply

Yes, Thranduil will have to think hard what to do with Thoran. The enxt chapter is almost done so you will no have to suffer for much longer...*g*. Thank you so much for your review, Fiondil. Lai

Agape4Gondor · 17 June 2012 · Chapter 23: death is too much mercy

This is harrowing. I still can't tell the good guys from the bad guys.

Author's reply

you are right, but it will get clearer soon. There are not many bad guys, yet one mad mind is often too much. Thank you for reviewing. Lai

Agape4Gondor · 17 June 2012 · Chapter 22: hope against hope

A very difficult xhapyer to teas.teasers

Author's reply

yes it was, but now they are knowing what´s happening and can acting accordingly. Thank you for reviewing. Lai

demeter d · 16 June 2012 · Chapter 23: death is too much mercy

Thranduil has heard the children, we now know they are in the barrels. (as if there was ever any doubt!) The different points of view in this chapter are fascinating. We have now seen the same scene from Thranduil's, Thoran's, Saeron's and Galion's points of view. I think, perhaps, once all is settled, Thranduil may not have to be too hard on Luindal. I suspect that the elf was frightened and trying to protect the people of the palace from too much rough treatment at the hands of Thoran and his followers. Now, to get everyone rescued and back to health. And perhaps, our favorite King ought to create a system of councils to hear and deal with the concerns of the people in the more shadowed parts of the land?

Author's reply

I´m glad you like the different POV´s. Luindil is a tragic hero and I fear he will end tragically too. A council will be a good idea, but there are simply not enough warriors to guard the south; talking will not remedy that. I really appreciate your review. Thank you for sending it. Lai

demeter d · 16 June 2012 · Chapter 22: hope against hope

The chapter after this just posted, so I thought I had ought to review this one first. ...barrels not water-tight...but perhaps just enough. I remember a millenia or so later, (depending on how old Legolas was at the time of The Battle of Five Armies, I have heard two different versions,) thirteen Dwarves and their friend the Hobbit rode in and on the Elven King's barrels all the way down to Laketown. They were carefully packed, full-grown dwarves, not thrown in, frightened children, but there still is hope! And the rope is tight, perhaps Galion has them. Now to get an unconscious Saeron out in one piece!

Author's reply

maybe they are waterproof but they can still impact with the rocks in the river and they are surely sticky, nothing really pleasant for little children. Yes, and Saeron needs help also - much to do for poor Galion....thank you so much for reading and reviewing demedter d. Lai8

Fiondil · 27 May 2012 · Chapter 22: hope against hope

A taut chapter and a mean cliffhanger. If even one of the children, assuming they are actually in the barrels, is killed, Thoran will have much to answer for. He truly is insane. Looking forward to the next chapter with bated breath.

Author's reply

where would be the fun without a cliffhanger but your are right nothing to laugh in this chapter and the children ARE in the barrels! Thoran will have much to answer for. And he has not reached his peak in insanity. Thank you so much for an appreciated review, Fiondil. Lai

Fiondil · 21 May 2012 · Chapter 21: won and yet lost

Thoran is certainly a sick bastard, playing such games. I hope Saeron succeeds in finding his father and the children soon, but something tells me he's doomed to fail. You're almost as mean as I am with my characters. LOL!

Author's reply

he´s a sick bastard indeed! Your assumption may be right. Where is the fun without being a little mean? LOL! Thak you so much for a much appreciated review, Fiondil!

galathil · 21 May 2012 · Chapter 21: won and yet lost

I am throughly enjoying your story. You have had me on the edge of my seat a couple times.I don't want to be in Thoran's shoes, when Galion and the others catches up with him.Have a feeling, that things will not be pleasant for him.Appologes for not reviewing sooner.Life in my house is crazy and thats on a good day. Can't wait for the next chapter.LOL Galthil.

Author's reply

you are welcome, Galathil. I´m glad for any review and appreciate it very much. you are right: Thoran should run when help arrives. I had you on the edge of your seat? Then I have done something right!LOL! I will update soon, promise. Lai

Agape4Gondor · 21 May 2012 · Chapter 21: won and yet lost

Oh dear! I hope one of the warriors brought Luindil with them. He really should have been questioned..... this is dark!

Author's reply

there are many questions to be answered and I can promise that it will get even darker. LOL! Thank you so much for your review. Lai

Agape4Gondor · 21 May 2012 · Chapter 20: playing cat and mouse

Great thing that the gate was open. And the guards - no guards - definitely seems like a trap! I love the brotherhood of Saeron and Galion. Nicely written. Poor Liriel and yet, brave Liriel. Accosted now by two angry, suspicious elves - and yet, what would they do without her! Yet how own son is captive. I know she can help. I just know she can.

Author's reply

they suspect a trap already but have they any other options? I´m glad you liked the friendship between Saeron and Galion. Yes, Liriel can help , but will that help her son? Just stay with me and all your questions will be answered. LOL! Thank you so much for reviewing, Agape. Lai

Fiondil · 13 May 2012 · Chapter 20: playing cat and mouse

Trust Legolas to sense his ada before all the others. Hope Saeron is able to free Thranduil and the children without too many deaths along the way and that Galadhion will be able to hold off the Orcs and protect the villages.

Author's reply

Legolas is the son of his father and no mistake! A many seemingly impossible tasks to achieve for his other sons though. It will certainly not getting easier now. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Lai

Fiondil · 13 May 2012 · Chapter 19: breaking free

Sorry it took so long to get back to this story but this is the first good day I felt I could handle leaving a review. Loved the part with Thranduil releasing his spirit. Is he a great king or what?

Author's reply

Hi Fiondil, don´t mind. I´m only glad you are better now. I deemed it necessary for Thranduil to help his people. Glad you liked it. That he is a great king is without question. LOL! Thank you so much for your review. You know how much I appreciat it. Lai

Agape4Gondor · 1 May 2012 · Chapter 19: breaking free

I'm with Fiondil. I'm hoping the bird got to Ekrond right quick and reinforcements are on the way. Otherwise, both brothers are in a peck of trouble. Well written chapter.

Author's reply

thank you, Agape. The bird will be quick, but the way back is quite long and the brothers will be in trouble anyway. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Lai

BeeGee · 1 May 2012 · Chapter 19: breaking free

How wonderful that Thranduil could encourage his people in this way! Little Legolas knows his Ada refuses to be cowed, even behind stone. This gave me as much hope as the elves! Great writing!

Author's reply

Hello BeeGee. I´m so glad you liked what Thranduil did. I could so imagine him using some of the old magic to help his people and Legolas is a special little elf, isn´t he? Thank you so much for you review. Lai

Fiondil · 21 April 2012 · Chapter 18: reunion

Unless, of course, Elrond already has troops waiting in Lórien, and then they will be a lot closer. Glad to see the princes reunited at last. Now to deal with Thoran. Maybe the Elves can arrange for the orcs to attack Thoran. That would solve one problem, wouldn't it? Though it would obviously cause a whole lot more. *grin*

Author's reply

what a wonderful idea, but it would be a waste of orcs on this bastard, wouldn´t it? LOL! Thank you so much for another appreciated review, Fiondil. Lai

Agape4Gondor · 16 April 2012 · Chapter 17: despair

Poor Thranduil. To have to sit there and listen to the children crying. How horrid for a ruler. Especially knowing that all he has to do is capitulate. Hurry help. Hurry!

Author's reply

and capitulate he never will, or will he? Hurry help indeed! Thank you so much for an much appreciated review. Lai

Fiondil · 14 April 2012 · Chapter 17: despair

Definitely Thoran needs to be stopped and soon. What he is planning is totally unforgiveable. Not even Fëanor went that far. The suspense is killing me, if not Thranduil. LOL!

Author's reply

you are right: he is worse then Feanor! Yet I fear Thranduil will have to endure a bit longer and you too. LOL! Thank you so much for reviewing, Fiondil. Lai

BeeGee · 14 April 2012 · Chapter 17: despair

Wow! You really have shown the torment Thranduil is going through mentally. He is used to taking care of his people as family, and now his helplessness is really taking its toll. Well written!

Author's reply

thank you so much BeeGee. I´m glad the feeling came across so well. Thranduil is strong but even he has his limits. I really appreciate your review. Lai

Agape4Gondor · 8 April 2012 · Chapter 16: return

I do so hope the loyal elves do not stoop to Thoran"s level. Very glad to see the twins there.

Author's reply

they will not, be assured of that, even if they are hard pressed at some times to pay back with the same coin. I think the appearence of the twins makes sense and will bring some hope. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Lai

Fiondil · 7 April 2012 · Chapter 16: return

Hmm... troubling news indeed that Thoran would use elflings as hostages. Let's hope they find a way of defeating him without risking the lives of innocents. Happy Easter, Lai.

Author's reply

Thoran´s mind is more and more drifting toward madness. They will be hard pressed to counter him. A very happy easter to you too, Fiondil. Thank you so much for reviwing. Lai

Jay of Lasgalen · 23 March 2012 · Chapter 15: a line crossed

Wow. Thoran really knows how to win hearts and minds, doesn't he? I hope you've got something particularly nasty in mind for him!

Author's reply

indeed, and we have not seen the worst of him yet. And be assured Thranduil will act accordingly but first he has to get in the position to grab him. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, Jay. Lai

BeeGee · 18 March 2012 · Chapter 15: a line crossed

Looks as though Thoran is getting desperate! Hopefully, this will cause him to make mistakes that will cost him dearly. He deserves all he gets. Great tension in this chapter!

Author's reply

beside getting desperate Thoran is more and more slipping into madness and the elves around Thranduil will soon have to deal with this. I´m glad the tension worked in this chapter. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it. Lai

Fiondil · 17 March 2012 · Chapter 15: a line crossed

Crossed a line indeed. Thoran may not have actually killed those two Elves, but he's no less guilty of kinslaying than Fëanor. Things are definitely going to get worse before they get better, that's for sure.

Author's reply

you are right,Thoran should be handled like the criminal he is and you are right it will get worse. Thanky ou so much for a much appreciated review. Lai

Fiondil · 2 March 2012 · Chapter 14: a plan is failing

Thoran is obviously delusional and like many usurpers, he's underestimated the mood of the people I don't like his last thoughts here. Something tells me he's about to do something really nasty. Thranduil's sons better hurry up and rescue him or they'll regret it.

Author's reply

you are right to worry, he will do something nasty but the King is not the only one he can harm. Thank you so much for an appreciated review. Lai
