My heart aches for Frodo. I hope he's able to find peace and healing.

Author's reply

I hope so too! He's in such an ocean of pain right now. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 11 November 2012 · Chapter 10: Chapter Ten

A painful question, and one that Frodo needs to hear the answer to, I suppose. But Boromir is finding the first clues he's no longer in Middle Earth.

Author's reply

Yes, he needs an answer desperately. Have to figure out yet if and how he will get it! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Agape4Gondor · 9 November 2012 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

I love Bilbo and Boromir's relationship. I expect it to grow, on Bilbo's side into uneasy trust and respect for the Man of Gondor. I really love Boromir's humility. He has learned a lot! "... It is a wonder to me that Frodo forgave me so great a betrayal." Nicely written chapter. *sighs in contentment*

Author's reply

It's already grown faster than I expected it would. Boromir has come a long way. Glad you enjoyed! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

curiouswombat · 5 November 2012 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

This is a lovely scene between Bilbo and Boromir - that moment of admission that the Ring almost took Bilbo, too, is particularly strong.

nancylea57 · 5 November 2012 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

glad you had bilbo own up to trying to take it also; gives them connections.

Author's reply

I was a little surprised that Bilbo is warming up to Boromir so quickly. I knew it would happen but it happened sooner than I thought it would. We shall see what happens next! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Linda Hoyland · 4 November 2012 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

I like the way you show how the Ring damaged all three of them.

Author's reply

Thanks! That is their one unfortunate connection but it's also going to be source of the bonding and healing. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 3 November 2012 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

Such love is a great joy as well as the greatest of responsibilities. And they are learning to forgive themselves as they have been forgiven.

Author's reply

It's going to be an ongoing process. Bilbo forgave sooner than I thought he would. I thought Boromir would be on probation longer. We shall see... Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

shirebound · 3 November 2012 · Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

There's such perception, honesty, and wisdom in Bilbo's words. What a fascinating story.

Author's reply

Thank you, my dear! So glad you are enjoying. It was an interesting chapter to write. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Linda Hoyland · 29 October 2012 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight

It is very difficult for both Boromir and Frodo to confront what has happened but hopefully they can help one another as Bilbo and Frodo do.

Author's reply

I know they will. Frodo freely chose to come here but Boromir did not - it will indeed be hard but they will be there for each other. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 27 October 2012 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight

Accepting the new home doesn't always ease the pain of loss of the old one.

Author's reply

Not yet at least. Boromir is certainly in for a big surprise but Frodo will help him weather it and he will help Frodo. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Agape4Gondor · 27 October 2012 · Chapter 8: Chapter Eight

I guess the 'A' in Antane must also stand for angst. You're killing me here. Along with poor Bilbo. A beautiful, heart-breaking scene. Well written.

Author's reply

So you found out my little secret, huh, about the 'A'? Actually, I hadn't thought of that but how true! :) Glad you enjoyed though, if it's the right word. Boromir will return in the next chapter. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Agape4Gondor · 24 October 2012 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven

First, deepest congratulations on the book! I love Boromir's thoughts of Faramir. That he saw the likeness between Frodo and his brother was neat. You wrote the discovery of his father's fate very well. As for Frodo, it hurts to 'hear' his voice, so distant, so wounded. I can't imagine how on earth Boromir is going to feel once he discovers he is not in 'Kansas.' Blessings

Author's reply

Thank you so much for your congrats and all your kind words! *hugs* Yes, dear Frodo and his pain, it hurts me too. I have some idea how Boromir is going to react but we shall see what else comes out. Stay tuned! And thanks for giving me this bunny to begin with. :) I'll have to finish before the end of the year because I'll be starting the 2nd book in January. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Ellynn · 22 October 2012 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven

I was (and still am) very busy these days and weeks, so I simply had no time to read this before. But now I'm finally here. ;) I like how you develop their relationship and how careful Frodo is about Boromir. And poor Boromir - there really are *many* news to hear! I think everybody would be confused in that situation. Looking forward for more (though again it might be weeks until next reading...)!

Author's reply

I'm glad you made it here and even more that you are enjoying. :) Thanks! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 21 October 2012 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven

It is a lot to take in, just what he's been told so far. He will need time to appreciate that he isn't in Kansas--I mean, Middle Earth--any more. Too bad Frodo still feels guilty, though.

Author's reply

A lot indeed and the worst is still to come after he discovers he really isn't in 'Kansas'. Let him have the belief that he still is as long as he can. I think Frodo doesn't like being reminded that he isn't anymore himself. But they have each other and that will become increasingly important. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

shirebound · 20 October 2012 · Chapter 7: Chapter Seven

What a great deal for Boromir to think about and deal with! Dear Frodo, still so in need of healing. Congratulations on the publication of your book! What an achievement.

Author's reply

Thank you, my dear! It's taken years but it's finally out! *hugs* I think Boromir will play a big part in Frodo's healing, just as Frodo will play a part in his. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Agape4Gondor · 14 October 2012 · Chapter 6: Chapter Six

Dearest Bilbo. I too gave sat at the side of one gravely I'll - only to find they had awakened during another's watch. :-) Dearest Frodo. Forgiveness and the warmth and comfort of a gentle hand. What a precious gift. Dearest Boromir. :-) Befuddled.

Author's reply

Frodo and Boromir need a little time alone, especially for Boromir because they did not part in friendship and he needs some more reassurance everything really is well between them. And hobbits are so good with TLC and Boromir will discover that he is too. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 13 October 2012 · Chapter 6: Chapter Six

I'm not surprised to learn that Boromir believes he's back in Rivendell. Am glad he wishes to see Frodo comforted.

Author's reply

This will be a case of WWFD - what would Faramir do? :)

shirebound · 13 October 2012 · Chapter 6: Chapter Six

Dear Boromir. Wait until he finds out where he is, he won't believe it! This is so loving and gentle.

Author's reply

Thank you, my dear, I think there is angst on the horizon but the love story will continue as well. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

harrowcat · 13 October 2012 · Chapter 6: Chapter Six

Beautiful words......long ago I forgave you.

Author's reply

Thank you, my dear! Did you open your birthday present that was the last chapter? :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Agape4Gondor · 7 October 2012 · Chapter 5: Chapter Five

Of all those in Middle-earth, I think Bilbo would have been the most inclined to understand Boromir's weakness when it came to the Ring. He himself had lusted after the thing in Rivendell and turned into a horror for his nephew. I agree with his hesitancy. His love and concern for Frodo would outweigh any understanding. In fact, it might have made dear Bilbo more concerned, having felt that lust. Thankfully, the Ring is gone. As for Frodo, he had spent a good two months with the Man from Gondor and seen Boromir's strength and courage through their journey. The last moment's of the Man's life negated the previous months' and yet, I'm sure Frodo had respect for Boromir. If you read the chapters surrounding Boromir's death, Tolkien clearly states that even Gandalf looked upon the Man with respect. And the Men of the Mark thought highly of Boromir and descried the news of his death. Great chapter. I love Frodo's loyalty. Bless his dear heart.

Author's reply

I think also the active imagination that he and Frodo share would make an event that he (Bilbo) did not witness even worse, especially one that threatened someone he loved. I hadn't thought it was Bilbo's lust that was making him understand Boromir, but it's certainly Frodo's lust that it is. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Lindelea · 6 October 2012 · Chapter 1: Chapter One

"heartson" -- what a lovely word! It appears that Frodo is finding healing in the retelling -- in a sense, Boromir is bringing him healing, just by his silent presence, another way to repay his debt. Interesting premise!

Author's reply

Thank you! (Or thank Agape for asking it to be continued and all the plot bunnies that came) :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Lindelea · 6 October 2012 · Chapter 0: Prologue

Lovely gapfiller, showing how Arwen came to offer her place in the boat to Frodo. His pain is so raw, and Aragorn's grief so clear. How hard it must be for a healer, to come up against ills that he cannot heal. Looking forward to reading more.

Author's reply

Hard indeed especially for someone he loves as much as he loves Frodo. Glad to see you here and that you are enjoying! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Linda Hoyland · 5 October 2012 · Chapter 5: Chapter Five

I'm enjoying this very much.I like the idea of Boromir getting a second chance.

Author's reply

Thank you! I am glad that you are enjoying! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 5 October 2012 · Chapter 5: Chapter Five

After all, Frodo and Boromir's healing are now intertwined. And I can certainly appreciate Bilbo's mixed feelings about this situtation!

Author's reply

Oh, I like that, 'intertwined' and I think only because of that will they both heal. And Bilbo will have his mistrust erased because of it too. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

shirebound · 4 October 2012 · Chapter 5: Chapter Five

I can't blame Bilbo for fearing for Frodo's safety. What a fascinating story.

Author's reply

Le hannon, my dear! Yes, I think Boromir is going to be on probation for a while. :) Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
