Larner · 29 April 2018 · Chapter 8: The crownless again shall be king

Oh, yes--this would b a proper way for Bilbo to learn Aragorn's story.

shirebound · 25 April 2018 · Chapter 8: The crownless again shall be king

This is a marvelous and very satisfying final chapter. You've pulled so much together here! I love how you've woven together this friendship. I especially like these lines: "Seeing a reflection of beauty is better than not seeing it at all" "Not finishing is always better than not starting" Well done on an enjoyable and very perceptive story.

Thank you very much! And when you make it stand alone like that, it sounds like something you could put on a motivational poster , lol :)

UTfrog · 24 April 2018 · Chapter 8: The crownless again shall be king

Yes, some of us did read this as each chapter was posted. Of course, I had to go back and reread at times. That was a pleasure too. I love your work. Thank you.

Wow, have a complimentary bouquet! @->-->- Thank you very much for returning! I also had to reread the story every time I continued with writing it :)

Matt · 28 February 2018 · Chapter 7: Renewed shall be blade that was broken

Great chapter. Glad to see you continue to move forward on this story. Curious that Aragorn doesn't know about Bilbo's 'Sting'. Thanks loads for your hard work on this, looking forward to future installments whenever they should arrive.

Hello! Thank you for the reviews, for some reason I got no notification so I'm sorry for not replying sooner... I'm not sure what you mean by Aragorn not knowing about Sting, I don't think I have implied that anywhere. If you meant the mention of Glamdring and Orcrist, he didn't mention Sting because it was not a famous blade with history like those two.

Larner · 15 February 2018 · Chapter 7: Renewed shall be blade that was broken

Now, Angrist would indeed have been a treasure worth seeking! Still the one who seeks lost treasures, I see!

Larner · 15 February 2018 · Chapter 6: A light from the shadows shall spring

Oh, but I do hope that the avalanche was unintended. I find I have a soft spot in my heart for the stone giants!

Larner · 15 February 2018 · Chapter 5: From the ashes a fire shall be woken

Ah, but this fire was started from scratch, no ashes being available. Excellent work Bilbo accomplished! And excellent thinking as well.

Larner · 15 February 2018 · Chapter 4: Deep roots are not reached by the frost

At least he had some shelter! Bilbo is seeing the love Elrond has for his adopted son, and I am glad he is showing the good sense not to make himself another victim.

Larner · 15 February 2018 · Chapter 3: The old that is strong does not wither

Once again, Bilbo the Hobbit hurries off with Elrond to the rescue of Estel!

Larner · 15 February 2018 · Chapter 2: Not all those who wander are lost

Quite the reunion. And so good to see your presence once more!

Larner · 15 February 2018 · Chapter 1: All that is gold does not glitter

Ah, Bilbo the Savior of one small boy who wishes to shower treasure upon his mother! So glad they found him under the Cliffside rather than under one of the waterfalls.

UTfrog · 10 February 2018 · Chapter 7: Renewed shall be blade that was broken

Great chapter. I am so happy to see this story continue. Thank you.

shirebound · 10 February 2018 · Chapter 7: Renewed shall be blade that was broken

Bilbo's appreciation of food and conversation, merged with concern for his friends, makes him a wonderful (and wonderfully distracting) companion for both Estel and Elrond.

harrowcat · 6 April 2017 · Chapter 6: A light from the shadows shall spring

Congrats on your daughter. I am loving this story. I am not a writer, except for one poem, but I played about with exactly the same concept years ago! Yours is so, so much better than anything I could have come up with. Excitedly waiting to read the rest.

Larner · 30 March 2017 · Chapter 6: A light from the shadows shall spring

Aha! So, that was what caused the avalanche, eh? He knows how dangerous the play of the stone giants can be! And love the memory of the Dwarves' song.

Matt · 29 March 2017 · Chapter 6: A light from the shadows shall spring

I've just caught this story up and liked it a lot. We get some interesting insights into Bilbo's character and the growth of his connections to Aragorn and the elves at Imladris as well. Really glad you're working on this and very curious to see where it goes next. Thanks for your hard work on it.

shirebound · 28 March 2017 · Chapter 6: A light from the shadows shall spring

Stone giants. They were asleep now. Oh my! Bilbo certainly wouldn't want anything to wake them. I'm enjoying this story so much. Our dear hobbit has certainly learned quite a bit in his travels.

PSW · 7 September 2016 · Chapter 5: From the ashes a fire shall be woken

I am so enjoying this! Elrond and Bilbo, out and about to save the day! And I love scruffy-Ranger Aragorn...probably my favorite Aragorn... ;-) Thanks for writing!

MikoNoNyte · 20 August 2016 · Chapter 1: All that is gold does not glitter

A hot summer afternoon, just looking for something entertaining and what do I find? This was fun, a little adventure for two! The little boy dreaming fantasy dreams (could just as easily have been a girl in our time) and the adventure which leads to danger. So nice to see a good ending with happy parent, happy hobbit and yes, happy Elf lord. That "kind like a summer evening", while making the rounds lately, is always welcome when done right. This was done right. Thank you!

Larner · 20 August 2016 · Chapter 5: From the ashes a fire shall be woken

He did learn a great deal through both experience and observation while he traveled with Thorin and company. Excellent! At least he knew what to start with!

shirebound · 19 August 2016 · Chapter 5: From the ashes a fire shall be woken

Hooray, I'm so glad you're able to continue this. Bilbo's proved his resilience and loyalty to his friends over and over, and it's wonderful to see Elrond giving him such respect and trust.

obsidianj · 4 January 2015 · Chapter 4: Deep roots are not reached by the frost

Oh, no. Caught in an avalanche. I just hope they came on time. I could picture the scene at the foot of the avalanche in my head. You paint a great picture.

obsidianj · 4 January 2015 · Chapter 3: The old that is strong does not wither

I love the little scene in Estel's room. I wonder who fixed the toy horse. Elrond himself? I just hope nothing happened to Aragorn.

obsidianj · 4 January 2015 · Chapter 2: Not all those who wander are lost

And here they meet again. But Bilbo does not recognize the boy from before. I think you captured Bilbo's character perfectly.

obsidianj · 4 January 2015 · Chapter 1: All that is gold does not glitter

What a nice little story about Bilbo first meeting Aragorn. It paints such a warm picture of the relationship between Aragorn and Elrond.
