Hmm. Alwunn appears to have found a means of getting rid of unwanted competition. Although I doubt sincerely that Eomer is going to give up once he realizes that Alwunn has left Lothiriel out in the woods unprotected. And I think that Alwunn will end up getting a rather nasty comeuppance in time.

Author's reply

I think Alwuun might have spoiled her chances as far as Eomer is concerned. Thanks a lot for reviewing. LBJ

curiouswombat · 27 June 2013 · Chapter 9: Nine

Meep! Now that really is a cliff-hanger. I wonder if Alwunn has already convinced everyone that Lothiriel has set off for home, or something similar, hoping that she will therefore be out alone all night?

Author's reply

Would I leave her out all night alone? Lol. Thanks a lot for reviewing. LBJ

elliska · 26 June 2013 · Chapter 9: Nine

Terrifying! I didn't see this coming when we met the jealous girl! I'm sure she led Lothiriel off to be mean, not to set her up (or at least I hope so), but boy it turned out badly! I hope you update this one quickly!

Author's reply

Alwuun didn't stop to think of the consequences of her actions, did she? Thanks a lot for taking the time to review. LBJ

Larner · 17 June 2013 · Chapter 8: Eight

Young Alwunn sounds to be quite the girl, one who sees Lothiriel as competition when in reality she herself is not even in the running! Hope the visit continues to be warm and instructive.

Author's reply

Well Alwunn could possibly be forgiven for thinking she was a likely candidate for queen. Warm and instructive - not quite. LoL. Thanks a lot for reviewing, glad you are enjoying. LBJ

Linda Hoyland · 17 June 2013 · Chapter 8: Eight

A most enjoyable chapter.I felt as if I were in Rohan. It seems Lothiriel is the last one to realise that Eomer is interested. His reaction to Arwen in the book shows he likes dark haired beauties.

Author's reply

Thank you, glad you are enjoying. And Eomer was so against her at first - LoL. Still a way to go yet. LBJ

Linda Hoyland · 15 June 2013 · Chapter 7: Seven

A most enjoyable chapter. I felt as if I could see the room and loved your scene for Eomer and Lothiriel. One tiny typo you might want to fix "she pulled the quilt strait" should be "she pulled the quilt straight."

Author's reply

Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for the typo. I have corrected all the chapters and now need the time to repost. LBJ

Marinelli · 9 June 2013 · Chapter 7: Seven

Hmmm he needs the money, she has a dowry. She may be really angry when he finds out how much he needs the money. Esp. since she seems just a little bit frightened of him, because she's not sure what he wants. She's thinking, no way, he might have a girlfriend somewhere.

Author's reply

I don't think she's ever met any man like him before and is unsure. Thanks a lot for reviewing.

Larner · 4 June 2013 · Chapter 7: Seven

She does have a good deal to tame in him, doesn't she? Heh! The room sounds breathtaking!

Author's reply

Well, I don't want her having any old room when they finally get together. Thanks a lot for reviewing. LBJ

curiouswombat · 2 June 2013 · Chapter 7: Seven

Oho! We have more sparks flying, a knowing Éowyn, an almost apologetic Éomer... wonderful!

Author's reply

Thanks. And thank you for taking the time to review. LBJ

Linda Hoyland · 28 May 2013 · Chapter 6: Six

I enjoyed this chapter very much, not least as I live in a town known for salt!I hope Lothiriel gets her apology from Eomer. I enjoyed the first view of the Golden Hall and the humour of Lothiriel's and Eowyn's bedtime conversation.

Author's reply

Thanks for the review. I am not sure why the salt got put in, but I seem to like those little details. LBJ

I am often glad that this site lets us post more than one review per chapter. I had forgotten to add that I very much like your inclusion of a living mother for Lotheriel. Tolkien's stories are full of grieving widowers and dead mothers. I suppose he grieved his whole life for his own mother. But surely some of them lived to grow old in peace! And your Mrs. Imrahil and her daughter are doing just the kinds of things I would expect them to do after such a war. Very nice!

Author's reply

I like to try and devise a different Lothy each time. And I have been meaning to include her mother. Thanks a lot for the lovely review. LBJ

Oh, yea! Another Lady Bluejay E/L story. I believe that you and Lialutherveril have the greatest variety of different versions of how those two might have met and courted. Both of your stories are some of my favorite Middle Earth "drugs of choice"! Back in the Sixties and Seventies when I was a girl,my mother read a lot of "Romance Novels". A lot of what Harlequin Books printed then, a lot of Barbara Cartland and Georgette Heyer. Mostly a LOT less graphic than what is on the book-stands now, PG 13 rated, really compared to now. One of my favorite formula stories involved variations on this; a plucky, bright young woman takes a job as; a governess to a gloomy young widower in a remote estate; or, a personal assistant to a domineering but brilliant corporate captain; you get the picture. The employer is insufferably blunt, rude, bossy, etc. They have a few volcanic, very entertaining confrontations, after which he grudgingly begins to respect, then finally love her. This tale reminds me of my favorites of my mother's "Harle Q's". I will particularly be following how you develop Eowyn. Is she really cold and rude, or merely hurting and proud?

Larner · 20 May 2013 · Chapter 6: Six

Well, he's listening and so indicating that his attention is truly caught by Lothiriel. I wonder when he's going to make it clear to his people that he's planning to claim her, not that his own haven't begun to pick up on which way the wind's blowing. Lothiriel just doesn't take all that in on a conscious level as yet. Heh!

Author's reply

I am not sure he really knows himself quite yet. Thanks a lot for reviewing. LBJ

Eomer does it again! Poor man, has he got a lot to learn about dealing women, or at least this woman in particular. I hope Elladan stays in Rohan for sometime!

Author's reply

He will be there for a little bit longer. Thanks a lot for reviewing. LBJ

curiouswombat · 19 May 2013 · Chapter 6: Six

Oh Éomer - all too ready to jump first and ask questions afterwards... if at all! It makes for a very good tale. And I do like the foil provided by the sons of Elrond in this story very much.

Author's reply

A little elegance to Eomer's roughness perhaps. Thanks for reviewing. LBJ

UTfrog · 19 May 2013 · Chapter 6: Six

This was a fun chapter. Elladan seems to be enjoying the byplay. Thanks.

Author's reply

You are very welcome. Thanks for reviewing. LBJ

Linda Hoyland · 12 May 2013 · Chapter 5: Five

I can well imagine some folk would be angry at Eowyn leaving them to ride to war. Poor Lothiriel seated between Elladan and Eomer. A most enjoyable chapter.

Author's reply

Thank you. But sitting between those two could be rather pleasant! LBJ

Larner · 7 May 2013 · Chapter 5: Five

A most interesting situation, being between Elladan and Eomer. Love that Elladan also intends to give Eomer a bit of a comeuppance. Seems several people feel that the new King of Rohan needs a bit of--discipline! Heh!

Author's reply

Yes - he's a bit full of himself, isn't he. LBJ

Larner · 7 May 2013 · Chapter 4: Four

Of course, Eomer isn't the only one who has needed to lighten up, and now both are doing so admirably. Loved the appearance of the pigeons!

Larner · 7 May 2013 · Chapter 3: Three

Ah, a wonderful start to the journey, and it appears Imrahil has decided to let Lothiriel prove herself. Excellent! He does need to lighten up!

Larner · 7 May 2013 · Chapter 2: Two

He's intent on making an impression, isn't he? Heh!

Celeth · 7 May 2013 · Chapter 5: Five

I thought Lothiriel was going to tell Hungife about how she lost her betrothed in the war. But I guess it wouldn't really count, since she wasn't really in love with him and didn't really grieve that much? Oh ho, so the fish is starting to circle the bait? Not that Lothiriel would appreciate being called a bait! But I love it that you included Elladan here, and in a teasing mood too. Poor Eomer doesn't stand a chance. I look forward to reading more about what Elladan (with his partner in crime - er, twin Elrohir) will cook up to torment Eomer. I found it a pity that the sons of Elrond had only a few speaking parts in the LOTR book, and nothing in the movie at all; all the glory went to Legolas.

Author's reply

Yes, we don't really know much about them do we. You will see a little more of Elladan but I am not promising a great deal.LBJ

ana · 7 May 2013 · Chapter 5: Five

What an interesting triangle! One of the beautiful twins at last. The description of Aldburg very detailed. What would the elf be thinking of elven Lothíriel? Waiting for more! The young widow, an interesting addition too.

Author's reply

Well I had to add someone to temper the relationship between our main characters.I thought Elladan a good choice and liked to make him different from his brothers.LBJ

Larner · 6 May 2013 · Chapter 1: One

Well, that was unexpected, I'm certain! Beautiful and temperamental! I commend Lothiriel for her honesty with herself and her mother and Faramir, and for her forbearance in the face of such rudeness from Eowyn!

UTfrog · 6 May 2013 · Chapter 5: Five

This is getting better and better! Love the final interactions between Eomer, Lotheriel, and Elladan. I am always interested in any references to the widows and orphans and how they managed.

Author's reply

Thanks. I always though there was so much celebration when there would have been so much misery. LBJ
